i used to work in a restaurant in central London, and the food wasn't bad, but the owner used to make us write 5-star reviews and he used to make a lot of fake accounts just too write good things about the restaurant, so yes it is a thing.

They often have to take lessons from special accent/dialect coaches, in order to be able to get it right. If he was able to pull off a regional accent, like someone from Brooklyn NY or Memphis, Tennessee, I'd definitely give him kudos. But, from what I've noticed, Brits tend to have a harder time with Northeastern and Southern accents. And on the flip side, not everyone can pull off a British accent or even be able to differentiate between all of the regional accents in England/theUK. Actors and actresses from the UK and the states have to use a coach when they're playing American/UK characters. Some are great at it and some, not so much.

His face kinda rings a bell, but I cannot at all remember where I (potentially) know him from, but seeing how comfortable he is talking to and with me and all, I definitely feel like I know him from _somewhere_ The entire ride we talked, and when we got off I told him ''I work here!'' and... of course he'd know, he works with me AHAHAHAH - I only realised it was him at that moment, how embarrassing! _(in my defence, it was 0100H AM and he was also wearing civilian clothing rather than the work polo as he was not working but travelling)_

One time I went to meet a friend, on the way there some strange guy waved at me from a doorway, I told my friend who was bent over in tears. Turns out he was the strange man! I genuinely had no idea it was him! Like you said, sometimes I'll get a feeling I know a person, but I'll be clueless. So if someone came up to me in entirely different clothes, glasses, and a different voice, I have no idea how you'd tell it's the same person!

You need to ask "How does a cafe etc with lousy reviews serving lousy food and is rude to customers survive in high rent London ?" The answer is that they are money laundering fronts. They get mug tourists etc, but they stay in business because they launder criminal cash-you'd be staggered how much they pay in each week. Private Eye used to regularly report on these fronts (tacky souvineer shops/American Candy Shops Cafes) but dont bother now-and neither do the councils or police.

Went there last year, he was initially pleasant, they had sausages cooking right next to the door enticing you in giving the feel of a normal cafe environment. I noticed people walking in and straight back out, thought nothing of it, I should have though. I ordered 5 coffees all made with instant granules, tasted awful, there was lipstick on the cups, drank up and asked for the bill. She wanted for £25, no prices listed, instantly realised I'd been scammed but was with my children and embarrassment got the better of me. Never ever visit this café it's a rip off. 😮

I was casually watching this video and I realised this is the first restaurant I ate with grandmas when we arrived at London. I am not even kidding, 17 years ago I believe. We were not surprised it was not that good (we didn’t have Google maps or tripadvisor), but that mid meal forced us to only eat KFC the rest of the trip. 😅
She deserves the bad press and I have zero sympathy if she loses her business. My philosophy is that there is no excuse for bad food. If she charged a low price, I would cut her slack. But if she charges a normal price, then I will judge her by normal standards A pasta can cost £8 from an authentic Italian.

I was casually watching this video and I realised this is the first restaurant I ate with grandmas when we arrived at London. I am not even kidding, 17 years ago I believe. We were not surprised it was not that good (we didn’t have Google maps or tripadvisor), but that mid meal forced us to only eat KFC the rest of the trip. 😅
She deserves the bad press and I have zero sympathy if she loses her business. My philosophy is that there is no excuse for bad food.
If she charged a low price, I would cut her slack. But if she charges a normal price, then I will judge her by normal standards

There is somewhere in Edinbutgh that;s pretty bad, The Booking Office, above the railway station. It's cheap, the staff are Ok, but the cooked breakfast was a joke, baked beans, more baked beans and not much else.
