I’m very impressed with your patience and attention to detail. Question for you: does the flame reactivate the tackiness of the material? Thanks for the instructional video and great job.
The "flame" or heat in general IS used to reactivate the tackiness at the very end to ensure the material sticks as well as possible to the vehicle so it is less likely to fail and come off. DURING the actual installation of the material the heat is used to make the material more malleable to help conform to curves. DO NOT over heat or over stretch the material because then the material will become deformed and will distort the color or design on the vinyl. Hope this helps.

Thinking about doing it on mu jeep. Cant be too hard as the tops black and there isnt much surface area. How do you finish the edges? Like near the end of the hood, doors, and fenders?

How long can you leave a decal on the paint before you see ghosting of the decal? I have the hash marks on my truck but i don't want to mess the paint up long term if i leave them on for a few years. My truck is straight black if the color makes a difference. Thanks guys!

Hey Shane! Got a little question about wraps. If I wanted to do some type of design, like Streetspeeds or a similar geometric/camo design, what would be the best way to do so(Without spending a lot on a custom printed vinyl)? Would it be possible to lay a base layer of Vinyl and then add the stripes/shapes with a second piece of vinyl on top? Or would this make odd bumps at the edge of each piece of vinyl? Thanks!!

Can you wrap a primered vehicle or does the surface have to be clear coated?
patrick mcglone you can wrap over primer as long as it’s a smooth surface. You might have to use some wrap film adhesive promoter along the edges of the panel. Just test an area first to make sure there is adhesion.
You can use a he a gun that works alot better. But an acetylene torch makes you look cool. Lol
When you say the vehicle templates are not accurate, have you ever looked at Pro Vehicle Outlines? Curious as we use that at our shop and they guarantee within 1/4" accuracy.

I can get a pro wrap in my area for 1.5k including a 5 year warranty for any peeling, discoloration/fading, bubbling, ripping, shrinking. 3k, your time must be hella valuable lol.

It depends on the brand and length. Honestly it doesn’t matter the brand of wrap. Yes some are better than others but a 5’x50’ can range from 250 to 700 based purely on brand, style, and color. Also just doing a solid color is easier because you can work in panel sections instead of a design like they did and did an entire side.
What's the range of the labor cost on these full body wraps, either section or full side like these guys have done?
