I mean it depends on the rog has the highest cost at 1000$ usd which is what a note 9 is placed at. The razer phone 2 is 800$ which is a s8 or s9 and possibly even the plus models. The shark is still in progress but I suggest probably ignoring any Chinese knockoffs in general as their have been plenty of problems with those phones that people ignore some minor some not so much. But in reality compare them to what they're priced at to other flagship phones and then decided.
It's not very subtle or elegant. The Razer phone is more elegant and probably someone who wants to game plus use it for everyday use. The ROG is more of a personal achievement+mad gamer.
since I saw 1st Razer phone I knew Asus gonna jump on it and make an RoG RGB phone, that's what RoG subbrand of Asus is for, it's for making overkill stuff enthusiasts love, like their motherboards, like Ryzen 7 2700x there's no chance it can run even 5GHz even with custom watercooling, and they make a motherboard on which it can run on 6GHz(Crosshair VII is the name of the motherboard), or how they make that crazy RoG wireless router a couple of years ago(probably gonna get RGB one soon also cuz it's almost 2019, everything is RGB now), or how they made GTX 1060 Strix OC graphic card that is 25% faster in games than reference Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB it was based on, they just make stuff like that for the lulz thb, they make stuff like that to show off, they know RoG phone won't sell well and they will probably lose money even with it being $900, they just don't care, they want to have best gaming phone and they will have a best gaming phone, that's how Asus does it!
What about the temperature of the razerphone 2 though? Doesn't the ROG phone start throttling speed after a while due to the heat? What's the use in having a fan if it doesn't actually cool it?
Just subscribed. I own a ROG Phone. Been about a month now of regular use. Only downside is paint around air triggers and buttons are fading; but bare aluminium is cool. Everything else is gravy.
yup same cost of a note 9 so compare things there they both have their benefits and it really depends on what you value. The more freedom and better hardware on the asus its the same but at a better performance by a small amount. Or the note 9s larger size plus the nice pen better camera and such. While the asus has a nice camera comparable to the s7 or s8 camera the note 9s is better. Plus im sure there are other things within both phones software wise than can change your mind.

Custom pieces OS that doesn't suck. Backlight bleed possibly. Horrible screens not even above 60hz. Not good speakers..may or may not be USB type c...I can go on

This will help. I've been considering a gaming phone...but it'll depend on what can best play old school emulators. The ROG has the peripherals so that's helpful...decisions.
I have the ROG phone and I have bloody complaints for it. 1. The phone runs too hot 2. The rubber that covers the accessories port is a pain the ass to get out 3. It's not water resistant 4. There's too much gap between the screen and the chassis which allows lint to get into it and is a pain to get it out. The speakers too, never put this phone in your pocket it will come out covered in lint

I have the ROG phone and I have bloody complaints for it.
1. The phone runs too hot
2. The rubber that covers the accessories port is a pain the ass to get out
3. It's not water resistant
4. There's too much gap between the screen and the chassis which allows lint to get into it and is a pain to get it out. The speakers too, never put this phone in your pocket it will come out covered in lint
