Another great review! I’m sure there’ll be people on here complaining about one word said they don’t agree with but I thought the review was great! You guys continue to produce top quality videos and content not found anywhere else on TH-cam pertaining to all things off road! Keep up the great work!

As a 14 yr old watching sleds buzz by on our lake we lived on in MI in 1977,
Yamaha SRX's as well as Snow Twisters, Blizzards and my friends dad had an Artic Cat El Tigre and there were plenty of those flying by,
The top dog and best looking by far was the SRX! The sound the speed and the cool factor was off the charts for me!!!

Looking forward to the king of the lake review next year
SRX vs T-cat vs MachZ vs 850 XCR
edit-oh and one other thing, since people absolutely LOVE the old iron. I guarantee you that if you bring out the old SRX, T-cat, mach-z, XCR triples and do drag races with them, people will lose their minds. It will probably become one of the highest viewed snowtrax videos.

Great review. You forgot 1 thing....is there a better looking sled on the snow? Too bad Yamaha left the power steering off. It’s on the TCat. I asked them why they would add it to their 2nd line & not top line LE series sleds. No reply. Can’t wait for the MachZ/9000/SRX showdown. Surprised there hasn’t been something posted online already but will be a more objective race with you guys doing it. The homemade videos are usually far from accurate. Appears your trails are sketchy @ the time of this vid too. No snow load in trees. Nice u were able to squeeze in this one.

I ride this sled almost daily among others and I can say beyond doubt it does a lot of things right. To the point that it’s effortless to get around corners and accelerates like a Porsche gt3. You have to ride it to understand and it won’t disappoint

I always praise you guys! BUT the srx and Mach pictured side by side on the SNOW COVERED lake and then the Reveiw videos looked to be shot on the same exact day as well as both LUKE and AJ claimed extensively testing each in the reviews, please tell me how you expect us to believe that there wasn’t any runs made with these two? I’m mean come on we as your supporters are “speed freaks” and “hardcore enthusiasts” too so we’re not stupid and it’s kinda upsetting to be treated as such. Why are you guys not spilling the beans? If your not able to release the info just state that and for your guys self interest/professional protection I could definitely respect that way more than trying to get us to believe not one pass was made with the two sleds side by side.

Man, this is getting sooooo old. I swear to you there's no cover-up nor are we trying to fool any of you. I posted this reply in the Community post and I hope it is enough to make you guys chill out even a little bit. Please read...
Typically we travel to Montana to do our spring video and photo shoot, but because of COVID-19 we couldn't travel so we got both sleds delivered to us in Ontario really late this spring - Mach first, then the SRX. Our priority was getting the test rides done (Mach already posted, SRX live today) so we have content to meet our TV schedule in December (Remember, we're a TV show, not just TH-cam channel). We did the walk-around video of the Mach while waiting for the SRX and this photo was taken when we were shooting the SRX test ride. The plan was to complete the shootout that week, but temperatures went up to nearly 20 Celsius that week and we were met with a ridiculous amount of rain which put a dead stop to our plan. Now, we could've just done a comparison video using b-roll footage from the test rides, but we wouldn't have had any drag race footage or video proof to support our opinions and based on how vicious the comments have been towards our videos this spring we were certain this would not be good enough for our audience. That's all I got for you dude. Call it BS if you want but we ran it to the wall for you guys this season right til there wasn't a flake of snow left on the ground. I really hope at least some of you enjoyed the show this year. Still a few more videos to go live in the coming days and then we rest. Thank you!

The New Mach Z will be quicker, faster and the superior trail sled compared to the yamacat srx and thunderchicken.
Anyone can claim anything they want but the New Mach Z will be the New King of speed! Don't let this review fool anyone, sure the srx can handle flat smooth trails but when the trails are full of bumps and turns the srx and thunderchicken are a lot of weight to throw around. I would much prefer to have a lightweight non turbo charged snowmobile for everyday trail riding.

@@bobhirdes6725 Ummmm on the lake, where these sleds are designed to excel, the SRX and T-Cat will beat a Mach.... Mach may have a slight advantage in the “twists”, but if that’s where you ride I don’t think you need any of these 3 sleds!

    • @profdave2861
      @profdave2861 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@bobhirdes6725 thanks for your biased speculation but that’s all it is. These kinds of proclamations drive me (and others) crazy. Are you the head engineer of BRP? Have you tested both of these machines head to head in all conditions? Let me guess...... NO!
Just remember that the Mach Z is also a turbo four stroke and won’t be light either. Perhaps it will be lighter than the SRX but it won’t be by much. As far as who’s faster, you’re welcome to your opinion but your skidoo underpants are showing. Who’s faster depends on setup. Do you want to be faster on the lake, faster out of the hole, midrange??? Any one of these high performance sleds can be set up to optimize for any of these - and if one is set up for holeshot and another for lake, of course each will prevail for their optimized conditions.
Reality: they’re both awesome pieces of engineering and manufacturing; they can both be adjusted to optimize for different purposes; they can both be flashed to generate ridiculous horsepower. And if you know how to ride, they will both handle very well. Neither will be as nimble as a two stroke with 50+ less pounds to trying to go straight on a corner.
Also remember reliability and resale value counts. I have had both two and four strike Yamahas that have exceeded 15,000 miles with nothing more than maybe two belts and a few spark plugs (the latter only for the two strokes). My friends with the high performance ‘Doos were having crank, rod, or other major failures at 3-5 thousand miles.
I have fond memories of the days when my ‘02 SRX was blowing away Mach Z’s, Thundercats, and Storms, both on the lake and in the twisties. I can still see hear the excuses....
