- Be aware of these Windows Defender Security Center alert scams. Turn up your sound when you watch the video, it is alarmingly realistic. This scam alert was populated into an online news article via a Google pop-up advertisement. The attempt states your device is infected with viruses and you need to purchase a full version of the antivirus system to remove the infections.
When i saw this i swear i died inside and when i got rid of it, i just had to lie down man.... literally was petrified.... then me realising i don't even have a windows laptop
I ran away from the computer
It was on that screen and I just snapped my computer in half
lol I just got that message, and completely pathetic.
@@TheHighPriestess111what the scam or the guy who was scared?
Bro it just happened to I got scared then I realized I don't got windows laptop and thats a fake ip
This popped up on my laptop just now. I immediately came to TH-cam for answers. Thank God for the comment section because the video itself gave no solutions. The video title is misleading. BUT at least my problem is solved. 😊 Thank you comment section! You guys ROCK! 😁
I'm a happy camper 😁🙏🏾
For the ones who don't know,
Press shift + escape for some moment and task bar will appear. Just close the window and you're good
Thank you so much man I did not know how to get out of the screen and I did not know how to do any of the stuff people told me to do. 👍👍👍
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS FREAKING OUT 😭
Omg Tysm ❤
Thank you so much. I did not know it. But it works now.
Thanks so much!
Anyone who gets this message. Shut down your computer completely and turn it back on or restart it
Or just click the X to exit full screen.
@@NahIdlose3theres scams now that hide your mouse completely so youre locked onto the screen
@@kaidayuri5526 that’s what I’m talking about, if you know where the X is, your mouse is still there just not visible.
@@kaidayuri5526 the one I found had the mouse visible untill you go up (cause your In full screen and it forces the mouse to disappear near the X) but if you know where your mouse is you can just click off.
Simply go to TASK MANAGER, then END TASK.
@memes Alt+F4 didn't work for my computer, and neither did Alt+Tab. The only thing I could do was Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
How do we get rid of this, or is it totally random?
@@naomidaum8277Thanks your comments helped me
Thank you! This scared the hell out of me this morning.
Scam, don't call any number, don't click on Task manager, just shutdown your computer
Thanks. You saved me and my wife some real headaches. I knew something was up when Malwarebytes alerted us. Your video confirmed it.
First off, fake, it is illegal for any software company to lock your computer without your consent.
EXACTLY THATS WHY ITS CALLED A SCAM
And no it is not fake my dad and my brother got it luckly i knew what to do
He’s not saying the scam isn’t real, he’s saying that it’s obviously a fake warning because a company can’t lock your computer
i was literally in a call about this and I got skeptical and tried to search online if the Microsoft security thingy was legit, turns out it was a scam so I dropped the call right away.....i hope the scammer didnt manage to get much stuff out of me
If you didn’t give them any personal information then you’re good, however you did reveal that your number is active so you’re more likely to get scam calls
This happened to me first thing this morning as soon as I tried to log into the internet, I’m the last person for techie anything. So after one failed attempt of powering down and restarting for the same result, I just opened a second tab and had no issues or security pop ups and closed out the first initial tab that had it and wouldn’t let me do anything and everything was fine after that.(Easy Peasy…..hope this helps the next)👍
1. Ctr --> Alt --> Delete ( Press these buttons all at the same time ) .
2. Then go to Task manager
3. Delete the Microsoft edge browsers by right clicking it and pressing delete.
4.Then shut it down
or you can click control esc which brings you out of fullscren and then you can close the window
It wouldn't let me End Process when I clicked on my browser in the Task Manager. It also appeared to download a device and when I looked at my Device and Printers in Safe Mode it definitely looked different. One of my printers was even missing.
I wish I knew if this scam has evolved to something worse but Malwarebytes nor MS Malicious Removal Tool found anything but I was not able to restart them even in Safe Mode. I had to do a System Restore to an earlier date.
Thank you soooooo much!!!!
You need to edit the title of the video title: be aware | windows defender security center false alert
What if you have given access to these idiots to your pc? if you have run through the antivirus program does that catch any malware if it has been installed there by remote access?
They use legit remote access programs like TeamViewer to do shit so no antivirus program is going to help you.
If u gave em personal info like social idk but if u just gave em access to the computer go to file’s delete the apps the scamer told u to download than press window key r and type netplwiz and if ur email and just ur email your good but if theres an email u dont know click on it a press remove
These are not viruses , these are just fake pop ups. A mere javascript code on the browser. Antivirus do not detect them as threats and even ad blockers may not work on them as the scammers constantly changes the site were they are hosted.
You can get just ctrl+alt+delete and then bring up Task Manager. Sand form Task Manager end all browser processes. After that clear your browser cookies. That's it.
This happened to like 20 minutes ago! Almost the exact one! I was really scared and I was home alone so I was begging my mom to go home but luckily I was on a call with my friend that is one grade ahead of me and she got her dad on the phone for help and he said to just click on esc and I didn't think it would work but it did!
Thanks for your help I was panicking and I did what u recommended it worked ❤
This happened to me a few minutes ago It stayed on my computer even after I turned it off and on I called the number but still thought it might be a scam I didn' t know what else to do the woman told me to push on and delete button at same time then she said they needed to hook into my computer I didn't liek that idea and made excuses then I got disconnected or she hung up Something popped up on my phone at the bottom when it got disconnected
I have an IMMENSE fear of alerts like these, seriously. Whenever something with that alert pops up i start shaking- also this popped up on my ASUS laptop and I sorta figured out it was a scam lol, but esc wasnt working, my laptop has a button to shut down any website so that worked! After that i just shut it down for awhile.
I got this ad and i couldnt alt f4 or do anything else, i just restarted my computer from the power button, nothing should be wrong with my pc right?
Thanks this is what worked for me
Yeah, this is a fake message. They are trying to get you to call the fake microsoft tech support scammers from India. I got it when I tried to search youtube and clicked the first Google result, I wasn't paying attention to the fact that it was labeled as a ad, and it took me to the website that does this.
That is exactly what I did. Control - alt - delete did not work for me. Next time I'll try Shift and Esc. Power off is the last resort.
I just got this, I used control alt delete to get t task manager and closed it. It is so obvious.
Thank you so much ! This really did work on the same situation.
What task is it? Dont wanna end wrong thing
@@darkdreems6523 You have to end the search browser task that was open.
It didn't allow me to do anything untill I used control+Alt+detete and close it with task manager. Do I have to do any further action to prevent it ? is there virus in my computer now? Thank you.
@@kiki-nr1pf Nope, once your browser is closed your fine.
Bruh, I was literally just looking for a recipe for french toast and this popped up
Did you put a virus on your Windows PC?
2023-08-21...
I got a new one. The blue screen is the same but the ctrl+shift+ESC didn't work for me.
I would remove the battery if all else fails.
I pressed ctrl+ shift+ escape together for a few seconds and it worked for me
Ty man it really helped me
Ctrl shft esc it worked for me
Thank God 😊
I was so scared with the beep and flashing windows on my laptop
This popped up on my Mac laptop yesterday. It really worried me. I did call the support number that was given, and I talked to a heavily-accented man who told me someone had hacked my e-mail and I was in serious trouble. I gave him my telephone number, and he said he would call the RCMP and file an investigation. I did then, however, restart my computer, and I also changed my e-mail password. So far, I haven't heard anything more from that man or from the RCMP. Do you think that message was real, and that I was in trouble?
It was a scam. I’m glad you changed your email but its just a pop up thats supposed to scare you into thinking its malware. Companies aren’t allowed for lock your devices without consent
Oh nah I remember in like 2015 (I was like 7/8 years old back then) I somehow ended up on a screen like the one shown in the video. The voice absolutely scared the shit out of me so I just turned the pc off directly by taking out the plug and I ran out of the room and into the living room where my family were all sat.💀💀and I didn’t even use the pc again for a few months. I was literally that horrified.
Lmaoo, that voice and the alert still makes me kinda scared to this day though
I hit the X and then task manager what do I do now???
My dad says to hit Ctrl Alt Delete and open the task manager to remove all google tabs, clear the site this happened on from your search history, and never come back to it again.
It wouldn't let me End Process on my browser in Task Manager. I wonder if this has gotten more evolved because more things happened on my computer than that.
@@jmar8507
I really don't know how to help here.
But maybe try looking something up, or try talking to someone who knows there way around stuff like this.
@@jmar8507 a reboot would also fix this. But do know that since windows 10, the power button on the laptop doesn't really shutdown the computer if the fast boot feature is enabled. So press the down the power down for 10 secs to make sure you have completely shutdown the computer. And then turn on the laptop. This would fix it. 0:26
India at it again..smh
Can anyone help I have that screen but I can’t close it when I click the X it pops back up pls help
Really? Save all your files to a other hard drive. Wipe and format full clean the original hard drive, reinstall Windows and done 😂
I turn off that shit as fast as possible
It happened to me but I just closed the tab…
is it safe when i just close the tab? I had that too and i just closed the tab too
i closed too also my pop up are blocked soo???
@@idk_me4704 yeah, you can also just hold the power button and restart your computer
I got this once, but I had a second monitor connected to shut it down. Puny thing tried me :p
How do you make it so it never pops up again? I already have Malware, why didnt it catch it?
Because it's technically not malware it's just a pop-up meant to scare you into thinking it's malware, it's completely harmless for the most part. Check your installed programs though and look for anything suspicious.
This is happening when I log into my TH-cam account, and open it on a Google Chrome browser. It does not pop up every time I open TH-cam, but it does often though since yesterday. Is this malware or a virus? And what is the connect to it only happening when I log into my TH-cam account, and try to open TH-cam? Is my TH-cam account hacked? Trying to figure this out.
I just got this and it scared me really bad, i was just trying to find damn food recipes.
I was js tryna find drawing inspo 😭

i feel so dumb for falling for that. I gave access to my computer. He did some stuff
and told me he is done and needed payment per google gift card. I´m such a stupid bastard. I was just so scared my pc
would be destroyed by some virus.
Now I´m scared my pc is hacked. can anyone pls help me what to do. PLEASE
Same but i hanged up before he could fully scan my computer and pressed shut off
You aren't stupid, this scam definitely looked legitimate. First whatever browser you were using at the time, uninstall and reinstall it, then run a scan with Malwarebytes, which is a free antivirus software. You'll be fine after that.
I got scared when this happed to me this year at school
Press Windows Key+ L log back into your PC and close that shit out.
Press ctrl+ shift+ esc for a few seconds, this worked for me
That happens so I destroyed my computer
It’s crazy bc when I did call the number they said did you recently log into any school systems or banking systems. Which I did (I was trying to apply for fasfa and looked for schools etc) not even bank related! Be careful yall
yeah my teacher literally got this exact same pop up yesterday
wait so this only happens on business accounts? HOW COME DOES THIS NEVER HAPPEN ON MY ACCOUNT?
just got it like 5 mins ago, all I did was restart my computer and it seems fine to me 🤷♂

Thanks for the video
I haven't encountered something like this in years but it just happened. I knew it was fake because it disabled my mouse.
Crazy my boss just had this happened to him on his computer, and I told him this is a scam without a doubt. just not even knowing about this specifically.
It looked as if he had a TH-cam video on full screen and he couldn't get out so I held ESC and got out of it. When this does happen, just click or hold ESC and X out of the sit. Don't ever call that number. For even safety measures, scan your computer for any viruses on you Windows Security in your settings to make sure.
(Yes I scanned his computer too, and it was all good)
imma run this on a virtual machine
Hold escape for about 5 secs and out of fullscreen
I just got this they called me and They told me to press esc and then go and download something I just hunged up
Oh no i hope you did not give access to them

This happened to me today and I clicked off the tab i was on and it went away thank goodness.
I literally s**t my pants because I was using a TH-cam. Download thing to get some music for a software that I’m doing because I don’t know any other way to do it so I was taken to this random page and it showed me exactly what’s on your screen and I freaking panicked I was Scrambling everywhere and I told my mom and dad and then I found your video which was exactly what I saw. I was like oh OK so I just unplugged the computer and then went through with my dad and he run a sweep.
What if i got this on an ipad
Shut down iPad manually. Turn iPad back on.
