- In this video, I review the Stihl FS131R weed whacker. I put it through its paces along the creek where the grass and weeds are heavy and tall. I hope you enjoy and I highly recommend it! I bought this trimmer from New Virginia Tractor (John Deere) in Purcellville, VA.
Playing music the whole time doesn't allow to hear how hard you were having to go at it with the weedeater or if it struggled. Noone wants to hear the music. Here for a review of the weedeater...not of your music.

Going on 5th year with mine trouble free got a triangle blade far hourse weeds and honey suckles and i got the same handle most have handle bars on big trimmers
To be honest I’m disappoint Lastly, they are not making any more good this year 2024, after 20 years lake landscaper I wanna swap to shindaiwa product which is a better product
Shindaiwa is a rebranded echo.

I did love my 131 until it died. Sadly after 3 years it needs a new block. It is still under warranty but blocks are backordered with no e.t.a at all from stihl. Customers at the shop have been waiting 3 months with no e.t.a. I must replace my w.w and will definitely not buy another stihl. I'm going with maruyama. Hope you don't have the same problem down the line. Was great while it lasted. Cheers 🤙

@@giovanny30516 probably used the wrong mix or similar. I have both the echo 3020 and the 131r so there is no need to fight which is better lol I do prefer the stihl because its more compact tho and the low end torque too.
@@TheGuyWhoDidUrM0M when talking about the 131/131r, I don't really think echo has an apples to apples comparison. Echo has good trimmers. However, I needed something for some SEVERELY overgrown prairie grass, with undergrowth so thick the line head wouldn't even touch it. With the exception of their biggest model, Echo trimmers use a cable drive. Stihl use a solid shaft. I didn't have faith it would hold up. I got a 131r in late July and another 131 a couple weeks ago. Both have probably 2 gallons of gas through them, and they haven't caused a minutes trouble. Almost continuous wide open throttle for an entire gas tank full at a time. No issues except some valve adjustment, which would be expected with that much running. If I could have gotten by with just a big trimmer, I'd have went with Echo but the Stihl looked like more what I needed.

@@giovanny30516 too bad echo doesn't make anything really in the league of the 131/131r. I'd have bought that instead tbh.
