- On 6th July 2013 I went on a trip to climb up the stairs of the Dock Tower, Grimsby, organised by the local Rotary Club. Here's a short film of the inside of the tower and views from the top.
Thank you Stanley for sharing . At last, as a Grimbarian since 1939, I get to see inside and from the top of this magnificent , iconic, feature of the Grimsby landscape. My dad worked nearby as a lumper on the docks . The tower gradually seemed to get smaller as I walked down Carr Lanbe to my junior school and bigger as I neared home in Durban Road. The memory of the tower I took with me on life's travels which took me away from Grimsby.
Really amazing footage , been to Grimsby twice now and think it’s very underrated place . 👍thanks for sharing .
It's a bloody awful place.
Something I always wanted to do
fantastic video :) what a lovely day for it too... i would LOVE to get the chance to climb the dock tower someday, hopefully soon, maybe next year's summer? i understand its undergoin some maintenance at the minute so its not able to be climbed at this moment in time... but wow, what a lovely view of grimsby as well :) seems really peaceful up there!
That was brilliant Stan, thanks for sharing m8 ;-)
Always wondered what it looked like inside
Nice video but I wish there had been some indication of how big the tank had been.
Interesting...Gy is so flat.
