    I recommend attaching 2 separate strings to the corpse or just directly attaching it to the pole because it will make it swing a bit more

    with the noise it makes you would need to have other sound effects to drown it out, but it does do what it is suppose to

    Great advice! Test everything early! Also, other than the obnoxious sound, it looks great!
    Las year I was in charge of setting up a haunted walkthrough at my college, but I had to do it THE SAME DAY, no earlier ( it was built in our parking lot). Luckily I had about 15 people there to help me set it all up, and go buy replacement black light bulbs when someone surely broke a few. It took all of us to get it done.

    I just purchased this and it's different model then yours, I'm assuming the over time they've changed it around a bit. However they didn't make it any better. Mine doesn't have a battery compartment, I need to either buy a battery adapter, sold separately of course or use the 6v plug, here's the kicker also sold separately. So after I bought it I couldn't even try it till I went out and bought the $20 plug as a similar plug I had didn't make it swing nicely. Next Mine says it has a speaker and volume control. But there seems to be no speaker in it or volume control. On postion is off, off portion is on and I have the remote and that's the only one that works where it says it should. Mine came with hooks to put on to hang something from which seems to be the only handy thing about it. I've made my own swing and put a doll on it, as I'm not paying $100 for one you can buy through them considering I'm probably $60-$80 into it with the unit and plug already. It is still loud, and I wish they had an option to mount the device with screws instead of the strap and just have the device hang under the mounting so it can still swing. I haven't finished it yet but I'm hoping I shouldn't have just bought a fan put it on an interval timer to push my swing lol. Fingers crossed this works. Over all so far I feel their quality has drastically dropped compared to earlier things I've bought like my jumping spider which is awesome.

    Humm, I think a motorized shaker inside the prop would be what you needed. This spirit mech really works better on a swing because the long ropes exaggerate the movement, plus the weight of the prop swinging eventually takes some of the heft off the mech itself once it gets going.

    You need the guy in the prop screaming really loud to cover up the sound of the machine, or have it way in back of your yard so it can't be heard. That seems the only down side to it, but your toxic area looks great from what we can see.

    I got one of these the other day. Complete waste of money. It is going back this evening. The noise can be heard 3 houses down the street. The box flops back and forth instead of swinging the prop. So far, not impressed with any props or decorations from Spirit.

    • @williammchugh4361
      @williammchugh4361 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It worked fantastic for me. it could flop around with that velcro, I removed it and mounted the box to a ceiling by using a thin piece of wood which slid into the top mounts. That allowed me to screw it up flat. Was Solid. It makes sound but you have to mask that with background or prop sounds. plus grease the linkages. I used voices from Evil Dead on Empty Soul Girl swing. People were very impressed. You're not going to find something that produces a rock or shaking that doesn't make noise (especially at this price). The closest you can get would be a rig that uses a wiper motor, that's a lot (better) but more involved and pricey. Can't disagree with you about their prop pricing, it's Way Expensive for the build quality received. But, this one is ok for the price. People sort of go crazy in a Spirit store, they pay ridiculous prices for things, especially licensed items.

    junk

  • @FoxValley75
    @FoxValley75 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    OK, so here's the problem with this thing that your review did not pick up on. Once the strap is mounted up on something-anything-the "legs" do not swing back and forth, instead the entire box does. This makes the attachment stay almost entirely still while the box swings around, not moving the hanging prop at all!!! If you had actually hung the box up and tested it, this flaw would have been apparent. It is completely useless as a swinging mechanism unless you find a way to brace the whole box which will transfer the movement to the hanging prop. I'm really disappointed with this product!! If anyone has a fix for this problem, please let me know!

    • @HappyHaunting
      @HappyHaunting  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m pretty sure that I did mention that... in the end we wrapped it very tightly and it worked fine even hanging on my canopy tent pole which you can see in the end shot. Though I do agree it’s not the best prop...

    • @robmessner4417
      @robmessner4417 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had the exact same problem. I have Swinging Skeletal Boy and most places you use those straps are not going to secure the motor enough to swing, the box is the only thing that swings. Last year I had to do an elaborate setup using a stick attached to my porch with twist tie straps, and then attached the velcro to the stick, and then put giant twist ties around the stick and box together. The only way I have been able to keep the box from moving so the boy can swing is to have the box securely up against a solid object. I was coming back on this year in hopes of seeing someone explain a good way to do that, but so far no luck.

    • @LightsOnLanternLn
      @LightsOnLanternLn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the same problem. The box moves more than the swing. I was looking for a solution

    • @williammchugh4361
      @williammchugh4361 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LightsOnLanternLn If you can mount it to an actual ceiling, remove the entire velco attachment by pulling out the staples. Find a thin piece of cut wood that you can slide through the molding. That allows you to screw it up flat on the two sides of the wood. That Thing is not going to move. If you're using a tree branch, I'd say it would only work on just the right branch and I'd try zip ties on that.
