A few years back I watched a witch connected to a scissor mechanism in a Facebook video. Last year I made my own version of the prop, although mine was contained in a casket with an automatic door. The witch extends about 18 feet out of the casket when activated. I hope everyone has a great Sunday ;-)

I use a linear actuator to make the mechanism move in and out- th-cam.com/video/YL3-0KoSAGI/w-d-xo.html The witch is just connected to a hole in the box section using a cable tie. Thanks for the comment 👍
I've had a busy week, but managed to edit this footage from last year. I have loads of video footage on my computer that needs editing into videos, but not much time to edit it. It is often quicker for me to make a new video and upload it rather than editing some of the older ones with hours and hours of footage! Thanks for the comment
Not really, it was just a case of filling up the space on the bolt. I always ensured that a nylon washer was touching the aluminium to prevent any wear. Thanks for the comment
Can you provide more information on the slide you used? I've been designing using a regular two way cylinder and linear slides but I like this as an all in one option.

I'm based at Duckworth street (but off today). I worked at Chapels park for 18 years though. I know Peter well, I was working near him yesterday! I've probably loaded one of your vehicles in the past at Orchard mill ;-) I do still work at Chapels on asset care days and at their shutdown, or sometimes if there is a big job.

Great tutorial. Just ordered some of the aluminium box. How did you mount the prop on to the end if the scissor mech?
I think I drilled a couple of holes through the box section, then fixed it using two cable ties 👍

Just attach a big boxing glove on it and install it in your shed... whenever someone is trying to brake in they're up for quite a surprise.

I just got a 1 1/16 with a 12” stroke I wonder if that is a big cylinder to do the job?
It depends on the length of the arms in the scissor mechanism, it should do the job though ;-)
