- A July 2020 birthday tribute to Linda by the song's producer/co-writer David Pack - Who shares the same birthday!
What an honor and joy to work with one of the greatest singers and most beautiful & brilliant people of all time, Linda, for this mid-90’s project.
Disney asked me to take a 1-minute song written for the original 1950 animated classic and create a 3-1/2 min. pop song for Linda - so I had to write a 2nd verse and 2nd chorus, and add a bridge, outro, etc.
I got with super orchestrator-arranger David Hamilton and we composed a really super-playful string arrangement recorded with orchestra in Nashville.
Thanks to former Oceanway Studios Hollywood owner-engineer Allen Sides, who co-produced & engineered, and our pal George Massenburg who engineered Linda’s vocal in Tucson and mixed the final recording.
The sax solo is the great Gerald Albright. Keys: my dear friend and beloved keyboard genius Greg Phillinganes.
Linda: the dinner with you at El Charro was one of the most memorable and fun times of my life. And I’ll never forget how hard you tried for this song to be a duet between you and me-as Jimmy Webb once said: that idea went “adios, but we came pretty close!”

what a lovely song
This Linda Ronstadt cover was from 1995, the year I was born. I'm sure it was part of many other Disney albums, but I remember it mainly on the Disney's Music From The Park album from 1996 that I used to listen to with my family growing up besides Disneyland Park The Official Album from 2001 and Disney's Greatest Vol. 1 album, also from 2001.

So, *you're* the one who wrote that extra verse that the movie didn't have! That was the same one used by Kimberley Locke and the 2005-2006 lineup of the Disney Channel Circle of Stars, which included the preteen (at the time of recording) Sprouse brothers!
