It makes me feel great that I did not cast a ballot either. In the election for president, I was not urged to cast a ballot. One side weaponized Christianity and the other side was against Christian principles. My obedience to God is 10 toes down. Sure, I'm praying for both parties; there has been a lot of happiness and sadness over the last two weeks and I can’t imagine giving anything besides God that much power or my peace. I believe you both shared great points. No political candidate will be your savior if that is what you are searching for.

I think a lot more people see the humanity on "both sides" of the political spectrum than we realize. Probably no one is going to go viral saying " I think both sides have good points", but they are much more likely to go viral if they say some outrageous and hateful thing. By definition you will notice and remember the loudest and craziest person, which leads us to think that "everyone" is going crazy. I feel like most people I speak to in real life are much more reasonable and empathetic than the internet would have us believe. Thanks for the thoughtful conversation!

Your chat was very interesting and enlightening. In Nigeria 🇳🇬 we have a situation whereby politics is left to the 'bad guys' and in the end, everyone suffers from bad governance. The most recent nationwide protests were tagged #EndBadGovernance! So for us it is very necessary to encourage Christians to participate in voting and contesting for political office. This is to have God fearing persons leading people of God.🤔

This is why people need the Holy Ghost to help you out. If He ask you to pray for Leadership He is not against Leaders and caring enough to get them in office is important too. Voting is not a sin. It’s actually a good thing that Christians feel connected to their communities to help in every way possible to improve it…not just in one or two ways but in every way possible ❤

I'm sorry ladies, but only if you live in the state of California then is it OK not to vote.
I would urge you to do a biblical study on the concept of community and also remember in judges and the rise of corruption which led to the Israelite's (against God's wishes) to want a king in order to be like their neighbors. Public schools are extremely influenced by our votes. Our schools needs to be supported and improved and supporting a candidate that advocated for that would be helpful. Our roads and transportation infrastructure needs to be improved, our middle class is shrinking. Your vote sends a message to all of our politicians about what is important and what needs to be addressed.
I would also add that there are lots of people in our society that does NOT want you to vote. Remember the whole voter redistricting laws that were passed a few years ago in the south geared to weed-out the effectiveness of black and minority voters. The top half of people in our country does not want you (us) to voice our concerns because it ultimately affects their quality of life. I hear the argument that elections don't matter and don't influence our everyday life.....but it does. In so many ways it does...
Plus a lot of people have suffered, been tortured and killed for YOU to have the opportunity to vote. Please do not disregard it.
Sorry to get up on my soap box but kinda had to at this time.

I'm sorry, but I totally agree with them as I too, for the first time in my adult life refused to vote (I'm 66). I'm looking at a political system that no longer represent the democratic processes that they once did; what happened to politicians who belonged to one party but had the right to agree with the other party on certain issues? That's gone; now if you go against your party for anything, it seems to be the death of your political career. So now we have Republicans sprouting off ONLY republican philosophies and Democrats doing the same. And the behaviors of both sides have gotten too nasty and immature. Why do I want to vote for people on either side when I no longer trust them or what they claim to believe???

  • @CandyCoated96

God is in control. I agree with you all 💯 percent. He chooses to rise rulers up for His purpose. And fulfill His word. I do vote, but I agree with what you said as well. Both parties represent political machines, working for higher agendas. Thank God that Jesus rules and not man. He gives us choices and knows our hearts. He doesn't condemn us, like man. So many people hate others for having their own opinion.

  • @Sister_Sandy
    @Sister_Sandy 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

ism as a suffix is an " oppressive and especially discrimatory attitude or belief" in context and based on the word that comes in front of "ism". So it boils down to your attitudes and beliefs about that thing; whether race, sex, age, or class. It can go either way and against any race. So if you have a oppressive and discrimatory attitude against a certain race , that's racism. Think of a bully who bullies someone for being a certain race , that's racism. If a white kid went to a predominantly black school he could pe picked on for simply being white. That would be racism.

I don't vote. I try to observe Christ's example in Matt 6:9 to pray for God's Kingdom to be done on earth. A synonym for Kingdom is a Government. Also remember that Jesus' followers were no part of the world, just as Christ was no part of the world" (John 17:16). I can't support a human government, part of "the world" Christ references, and still wait in expectation for God's government. I wish whoever is in power well, but I don't look to them to solve human problems.

Amen. Render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. That is paying taxes, bringing value to our community, and keeping the law of the land, in accordance with the will of God.
This is not our home. We are not called to participate in the illusion of choice. There have been books written on 3 World Wars, 9/11, the 2020 pandemic, etc, etc. all before these events have occurred.
We fight not against flesh and blood. The powers that be have always been moving behind the scenes, ushering in the end times. Many of these events have been planned for generations.
As Christians, our focus should not be on politics, ethnic background, social standing, etc. It should be on preparing the way of The Lord and gathering his sheep for his coming.
When we fall into the trap of illusionary politics, no one benefits. It's called the Hegelian Dialectic.
Let's use the intelligence God gave us to open our eyes and reason with him concerning the truth of this world, and give our time and energy to him instead of to the enemy.

I think you should have voted… if God tells us to obey government rules and laws why would voting be a bad idea. In His Word, He tells us to subdue the Earth. Voting is part of subduing our communities. Because we elect people who closely align with our values. Understand that God expects us to “do something” - not doing anything allows satan to gain a hold. Understand that Jesus came to bind the strongman, Mark 3; if Jesus stayed in Heaven and said Imma let people do what they do we would not have salvation but He came in the physical, impacted people in every way, paid taxes etc…and His Followers the Early Believers got in government’s face to make change. I know my words will not sway you but please know that the freedoms you currently have are due to people voting and being engaged in the process. Yes some lost their lives and suffered dearly but look at what we have now. Now when the good-hearted and moral people stop engaging the process who does that leave to create laws and regulations and provide fairness in society? Please reconsider your stance ❤
