When the final season was coming up, I always felt that the best way to end the show was to go one of two routes:
1.) That Samurai Jack gives up trying to fix the past and instead tries to save the present from Aku's tyranny, so those people can finally experience a life of peace and freedom. If Jack was only then able to reclaim his sword and defeat Aku, and his ancestors are just as thankful for defeating Aku in the end, then it would convey the timeless lesson that we cannot waste our lives dwelling on the past, when we still have a chance to save the present and build a better future. I later found out that a non-canon spinoff comic actually came up with that ending.
2.) That Samurai Jack finally succeeds in going back to the past and destroys Aku, but then realizes that his victory might mean that all those unique friends he made may no longer exist. This would almost bring up the questions surrounding philosophical Problem of Evil, where one proposed reason why God would hypothetically permit the existence of evil (besides respecting the free will of his creations) is that every act of evil also creates opportunities for more goodness to grow in this world, to counter it. Aku's presence allowed people like the Scotsman, Ashi, the sentient dogs, the monks, etc. to become the noble characters they were. So Jack would end up bearing this cost, after essentially playing God by altering the timeline to stamp out the evil before it begins, and having reflect on whether it was truly worth it.
When the end of that final episode came, I was surprised, amazed, and feeling a void in myself throughout the following day, since Jack's tragic loss hit me in the right way and I realized I actually called the ending from the beginning. Their relationship was developed so well in my opinion that I became very invested in Jack and Ashi, and I thought the Jack seeing his very bride disappear in his arms was such a powerful image to symbolize the cost of the second ending. To me, that imagery is so beautiful that I felt it was worth taking those liberties with the plot's logic to give us this. I know people complained that either she should have disappeared immediately or that the time paradox should not happen, since Ashi's nonexistence would mean that Jack could not have returned to the past to defeat Aku in the first place, but that did not bother me.
The only way it could have been more powerful would be if the final episode was longer, allowing for a few more scenes, including one where Jack sees Ashi disappear and we then see Jack contemplating everything in shock. The background would turn completely black, with Jack's face in the foreground, and we would see pictures of all of Jack's friends from the future appear in the background, only to fade away like Ashi did.
Even then, there is still hope because we are never told what happens to Ashi's spiritual side, whether it lives on outside of time in eternity (allowing Jack to meet her again in the afterlife), reincarnation exists with Vishnu of the Hindu religion being in this cartoon's mythos (implying Ashi still has other lives), or if even the soul is removed (making the implications even more disturbing and probably making it better for Aku to be defeated in the future, so those people can have a chance at life).

Agreed,in my opinion the best final would've been when they defeat Aku in the future and Jack and Ashi and their friends are gonna build a new world where they would be the leaders and world would be dominated by peace, not evil.

Today, I just uploaded two more videos to my "Fan-Edits/Mashups" playlist. I thought you would like to know, since one of them also happened to be Samurai Jack related.
It is my first attempt at a parody mashup, that mixes "Samurai Jack" with a couple of the "Resident Evil" games, called "Aku orders a 'Whopper'", if it is something you would also like to check out and give feedback for.

When Aku's primordial form appears in the prequel episode, "The Birth of Evil Part 1", it wages a cosmic battle against Ra, Odin, and an avatar of Vishnu. These three characters are respectively among the main deities of Ancient Egyptian, Norse, and Hindu religions.
To be more specific, Vishnu's avatar during that opening space battle and his subsequent appearances are based on the avatar called "Rama" in Hinduism.
