It's SRAM GX AXS with SID Base fork / Select+ rear shock, Reynolds carbon wheels and Trans-X post so only a few 100g heavier than the LTD according to Decathlon. French link is here: www.decathlon.fr/p/velo-vtt-tout-suspendu-xc-cadre-carbone-race-940-s-rouge/_/R-p-350265?mc=8841597
I saw one in Spain recently along with the hardtail. Starred for ages and couldn't fault them. Ditching Sram brakes shows they know what they're doing!
Interesting review, thanks Guy. As well as promoting the brand I wonder if they kept the cost down by not going lighter than 11.3kg. Isn't the much more expensive competition closer to 10kg? Even my '22 alloy Oiz is a shade under 12kg, which was £3k for the bike plus a grands worth of upgrades. Would be great to say hi if you visit the Shrops Hills again, could show you local gems like Hopton.
I've not ridden Hopton since racing there in the 90s! Great spot from what I remember. Weirdly some of the heavy choices - like the Reverb AXS post and even the CrossMax XL wheels - are ones that also cost a lot. But yes it could be a lot lighter for sure with different parts. That said the top end bikes often claim to be close to 10kg but when you actually hang them off scales most are nearer 11kg. Even the S-Works Epic is 10.6kg in a large and the Pinarello Dogma FS I rode was 10.46kg.
Thanks for all the videos. I just started watching recently. What do you do with all the bikes after you review them? I actually just got one of the bikes you tested a few months ago and never seen it on the channel again since then. Thanks.
@@lasciviousembrace that’s great to hear. What bike did you get? All the test bikes you see here are just on loan from the manufacturers so they get cleaned up and returned after testing 👍🏻
Those holes in the handlebar are standard on the carbon FSA bars for some reason. I use the SLK Pro riser bar and it has the holes too. Seems like an odd feature for a modern bar. I made a plug for mine and it stops the whistle. Mine also have holes under the grips that I keep spare zip ties in.
Maybe not pijo enough for some....a Spanish term for rich boys.....for example the yamaha rd 350 the matapijos...😂😂😂 Top job by Decathalon on these bikes..took a decathalon hardtail to 2 downhill bike parks in France and Catalunya...no problem😊
I’d love to see a comparison to the cervelo (… and secretely hope this bike will be at least as good). Great to see decathlon finally bringing out bikes that are fully up there with the premium brands. Their older offerings usually frustrated me a little bit, thinking if they had spent a few weeks more they’d have a perfect bike. That said I’m rarely completely satisfied with a bike or frame. I hope they will continue making products like this, provided their staff know how to set up and repair them. No more manitou style forks, or brake levers pointed at the sky…
Great workshop review.. be interesting to see what the lower spec race 940s come with.

@@GuyKesTV That's super cool! I got the Specialized full suspension Chisel! Very exciting!

@@Bonky-wonky yes, it’s great that their MTBs are finally catching up with their drop bar bikes as they’ve been excellent for years.
11 kg? I think my frameset weighs more.
In assuming the stem can be flipped to raise the front end for these non racing days ?
Nope, the fsa is designed that way up. as a -20. Easy to just switch stems if you've already undone all the same bolts though...
@@neilmacpherson260Why? Just flip the stem and run the bars upside down. That even makes British bikes have the brakes set up correctly.
