So much fun. Nothing can describe the pleasure of moving such a large and heavy object with just a few movements. Steam locos have a soul, and they reward kind drivers. I have driven 3 different steam locos in Australia. It’s interesting that down under, our fireman is on the left, and the driver on the right (just like on the road). This loco is clearly set up for a left hand side driver, as the Johnson lever is on that side. But what I found very intriguing, is the additional linkages on the brake stand, and the steam valve, to allow driving from the right hand side. I have never seen that before, but it makes good sense. In today’s more safety conscious world, the fireman can take over if something happens to the driver, or if the driver can’t see danger because of the boiler obstructing visibility, but the fireman can.
Bra jobbat !
You lucky man, I totally agree with you, a steam engine is a beautiful living breathing thing, unlike the rubbish that travel the rail's these days. How' I wish that they would return.
Hi Andreas, great to see anther wonderful video from you, your face said it all when you were driving that old steam Loco. We have a few volunteer Steam Locos here in North Wales, the main one in my area is the Ffestiniog Railway, also we have the Snowdon Mountain Railway which climbs over 1000 Meters to the summit via a rack railway. I hope your health has improved, you looked so happy driving that Loco, just like the old smiling Andreas.😊😊👍👍 Regards from Ray in North Wales
I must have lived a life during the time when trains were king. As soon as I set foot on that step and climb up, I feel at home, completely at ease, and can’t wait for the train to get moving. Riding the rails is for me, love the slow acceleration, then we’re rocking along smooth as butter. I know it isn’t like the old trains, but I adore an Amtrak ride here on the East Coast in Maryland, USA. One good thing about being disabled, I get a roomier seat close to the door. I can sleep, read, listen to music or play on my iPad. If I tried to do any of that whilst a passenger in a car, I would get sooooo carsick, it’s awful. But not the train, I find it feels safer not to be on the highway with all those maniacs, whew! The sounds of the train are so soothing, I don’t know, so very familiar to me like I just could ride the rails all day long and never get tired of it. But that would cost a small fortune, alas, I must disembark at some point and I always feel sad to leave the train and go back to the *real* world. Makes me wonder about previous lives…
That was a beautiful video Andreas. It seems you can drive anything. I've seen you on an electric scooter, a forklift, boat or wakeboard, your car, excavator, truck and now a steam locomotive. Whats the next vehicle you are going to surprise us with??😉😉 as always a very relaxing video. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the next one. Take care😊
TD // S. Good and interesting video. How it was done in the past nice to keep the history alive. Thanks for sharing and take care. Hope you are doing well.
Very nice. We have a steam train here too. Its quite a bit smaller than that one but it is fully federally regulated and operational. Its called "The Little Prince" and was used in the building of the Grand Trunk Pacific railway in the early 1900s. It sat unused for many years as a display until it was completely restored and run by volunteers. I was fortunate enough to get a ride on a steam locomotive when I was about five years old. before they were replaced by diesel electric. Thank you for the video and its great to see you again.

Ah! Swedish summer! Best day of the year!
😂😂
Kul!
I envy you very much! I love steam locomotives, and always wanted to drive one!
I am so jealous! i've only tried an electric locomotive. Norwegian EL17
Happy day Happy man 😊
Love your content....
dream come true
Fan vad realistisk denna nya järnvägssimulator är! Hur lyckades du få in dig själv som avatar? ;)
Overkill med YKB för detdär. :]
Also a rail fan here in Ohio. Is that narrow gauge (891 mm)?
Well spotted! Yes, that is correct!
13-14 kanske? xD
New career move maybe?
And Pikachu as the fireman xD
10:00 - Traveling in a Time Machine !!! 🤝
@@truckdriver1982 Tack.
too bad they dont use these steam-ones anymore, could be used on routes spacious time, or what they call it :)
Vad luktar det i cockpit, ånga, vedrök?
Måste faaaan köpa en DJI drönare. Det är nog det som fattas. 😀
! Nice video. Like me !
