    Hi Kyriakos
I appreciate your vid, but I understood that your technique works only if your board is downwind from you. How do you proceed if the board is upwind (and the current is pushing in the opposite direction of the wind)…
The body drag upwind is more than necessary with kite, and I would like to master a similar technique with wing foil if exists! 😎

I dont think a technique like that exists yet in wingfoiling.
However the conditions you mention are also very very unlikely I believe. But if you do ride in that sort of weather then I suggest a leash always and a good one at that! :D
Only other thing I can think of is just keeping your wing flat on the water with one hand and swimming upwind with the other hand. The wind should keep the board in place even if the current is the opposite direction.

@@kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind thank you for your feedback! These conditions are more likely to exist near the ocean with large tides, when a bay is being emptied or filled by the tide, or on a big river! These conditions are quite good for riding because they increase the apparent wind by the speed of the current.
This is unlikely to exist at Rhodes Island . They are indeed quite risky for the board loss. Some swell may have the right frequency to pump the foil and make it move upwind quite far! Indeed it would be wise to get an appropriate leach for the board! I was hoping that we can manage to make a kind of body drag , possibly pulling on the end of the leading edge, tacking as we can do with kite???
We may need something as a rope to trim this as we will lay on the water???

@nicolasboudet9302 still think it would not be possible with a wing. The reason it works with a kite is because its high up and off the water. The wing would be effected too much and wouldnt catch enough wind to pull upwind. But i guess we can only try 😁
