- This week on “Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia,” Lilian sits down with the creators and producers of KAYFABE, Christy Hemme, Gail Kim, and Amy “Lita” Dumas. The trio dive into what makes this upcoming episodic content series so unique and different. They talk about the launching pad into Kayfabe and what goes into the women’s professional wrestling topics that will be discussed on the show. Unfortunately, they have received some backlash for the project and in this in-depth interview they explain the misconceptions. As pioneers for women’s wrestling, Christy, Gail, Amy, as well as Lilian talk about the DOUBLE STANDARD not just for women in wrestling but for women in ALL ASPECTS of life. It has been nearly a year since the sudden and unfortunate passing of Ashley Massaro and the three talk about how it affected them as well as having contact just before her tragic death. They speak about how they have grown since then and how they plan on reaching out to other friends that may be in similar situation. And that’s just PART ONE of this interview. I shared it with so many of my friends and they had a new found Love and respect for LITA...they were like Man we didn't know she went through all that alone.. She's such an Inspiration and a Hero.. That interview is hands down the BEST one Lillian did.. I hope we have a video of it someday.. Please Lillian if possible! Love your show!

Having these beautiful strong ladies actually talk about Ashley Massaro was emotional. They actually cared about her. Ur on the road with these people almost 24/7 and u get to know these people emotionally and u become family. The when u loose one of them ur loosing a family member. It’s hard to deal with it and speak on it. I lost my dad years ago and today this day it still hurts to even mention him.

These ladies all look great. It's funny. For a long time, these four ladies were "eye candy" in an industry known to be supported by male viewers; using their physical beauty and athleticism to promote the concept of girlpower. Watching this video is so refreshing because it allowed me to see the intellectual sides of their personalities. Keep pushing the envelope, ladies!

Great interview! Can’t wait to see part 2. Honestly when I saw the preview of kayfabe, I instantly thought of a modern day glow show that could be on Netflix. I knew this wasn’t some type of bashing of wrestling. Surprised so many took it that way. I can’t wait to see the product when it’s created.
the 3.5 seconds of wrestling & a total of 4 female wrestlers shown in the 4.5 minute video got you thinking "modern day glow show" ?

It’s too bad that the vision was not more clear. I just checked the Kickstarter did not get funded. They keep repeating that people were confused. That’s the death of getting funded.
I feel that if they did the rounds on the podcasts they could have raised more awareness.
Hopefully it will come to fruition.

I generally support it because of who is behind it, but the way it was described was so confusing. I couldn’t tell if it was a movie, a documentary, a wrestling program like Lucha Underground or what.

Lita has always been my hero and role model! They way she was treated by the fans was so sad, she had done so much for the company to just be thrown aside and treated like shit! I agree, I think the comparison of Paige to Lita is spot on. I'm not a feminist either, but I think things were blown out of proportion when it came to Paige and her video. I also remember feeling uncomfortable as a fan watching Lita get dogged out by fans after a point. Nobody should be getting in trouble for sex tape and "slut" angles need to go away, it's tired and with what women can do in the ring it's unnecessary.
Then Lita came in at 41:00 and came all the way through with those clutch facts.

Could you please ask Torrie Wilson to be one of your guest at some point, she’s always been my favorite diva and I’d love to hear some of stories from her time in WCW and WWF/WWE and how she felt about being a face vs a heel, the rumor of being the first wwe divas champion before her abrupt retirement. Also would she ever consider returning to the current roster of wrestling? 😊, this may be wishful thinking but I assume you two are great friends because you guys seemed to be back in WWE and because you did her theme song.
