This week on “Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia,” Lilian is back at the NXT Performance Center and sits down with NXT Superstar, “The Blasian Baddie”, Mia Yim. Mia opens up like never before about SURVIVING domestic violence. She talks about how important it is to notice the signs as well as how she finally got the COURAGE to stand up and leave. She gives a heartfelt message and advice to everybody that has ever experienced the same situations and how much it felt to have the support of her family and friends. Growing up in Southern California and Washington D.C., Mia speaks about the challenge of growing up with a father who worked for the FBI and how she used arts and sports as an outlet. She shares how she grew to love pro wrestling by watching it with her father and why she gave up a full volleyball scholarship. Mia would eventually pursue her dream of wrestling and traveled all over the world honing her craft which led her to participating in both Mae Young Classics. Mia shares what she was doing when the chants of “Please Sign Mia” broke out in the crowd and why she thought she was in trouble when Triple H spoke to her shortly after. All this and MUCH MORE including breaking her leg just months before the 2nd Mae Young Classic and almost quitting after her first WWE tryout. Hearing about mia's domestic violence story made me tear up just hearing about it so many guys are sick in the head and im so glad that mia is with keith and you could tell that while she was telling the story she was trying so hard not to cry she is a survivor! We all love you Mia!❤

Sure you may get mad and do this and that but don't let it get to that to where you bruise, make them bleed or beat the hell out of them

Mia I understand I'm Domestic Violence Survivor of 11 years. I'm advocate myself! I understand everything, it hardest thing! I almost lost my child through abuse 5 months back in 1998. I was in 5 years abuse.

For those speculating it wasn't Eddie Kingston.It is good that she is stronger because of what she been through and is able to speak out to help others.Props to her!

Everyone's experience is different. I know people who've gone through it, people who've never seen or experienced it. For me it never really bothered me. It just turned into rough playing and Wrestling ironically
LD classes are the system's way of getting rid of the so-called "undesirables" and "unteachables" so they can focus on the kids that they see as useful to society. I'm legitimately learning disabled and I remember being put in that class.
Love Mia. One of my favourites in not just NXT, but all of WWE.

As a victim of domestic violence. And being a man not enough attention is brought to this subject .it doesnt just happen with weman. And mia is a good person to bring attention to the subject.it does kill and scar people for the rest of the life.as well as mia has her scars.keep being that voice n u rock keep up with the good job n good luck n ur career

I am in a position where I had to totally disconnect from my abuser. It was fune for 8 days, then he started pushing me, pulling my hair, then he hit me. I had to leave after he beat me then left me in a alley by the LA Coliseum, this was Thanksgiving week.
Telling me he loves me. Threatening to kill me if I changed my number. I did. I'm scared now. No he doesn't know exactly where I live but I'm scared that he will find me.

I was put into the same class she mentioned so I know the struggle and I busted my ass to graduate with a regular diploma instead of a special one which is what they TOLD ME I should do and that AM SUPER PROUD OF THAT

Great interview. Not a wrestling fan, but seeing this is eye opening to the possibly of domestic abuse in this sport. There are probably a lot of women in this situation that are silent. They need to find their own voice and say no more. Having Mia speak about her escape from this cycle of violence lance will likely help a lot of woman.

I was pushing for Mia Yim to be signed to a WWE contract for years, after I saw her match with Greg Excellent in a TLC match. Sad that the WWE did not her. Mia to me, should have been one of the faces for the WWE back with Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, & Bayley.
The same with Rihanna, but Mia Yim is strong and brave. Also a survivor.

@@hiphopdagame She first talked about the abuse at the hands of an ex boyfriend in an interview she gave. At the time she was dating Eddie, so he wasn't the ex. Let's make sure we don't speculate and put that on an innocent guy. It was NOT Eddie.
