This is really cool. I like builds where I have to manage several systems in order to play effectively. I think most of the community will hate it though for that exact reason.
I guess I just don't really see the point to create this build over bone spirit. It's also incredibly difficult to play either of these builds with a team or in the open world.
So I've been doing the same, A server overpower build. One thing that I did, I am using the overpower rune, but I'm using it with the move 5 meters runes. And when i pull in everything with tendrils, I kind of just run around everything in a circle. Including the boss, so that overpower runes comes up ALOT playing this way. Especially when moving to another area, 99% of the time that first case I do when I get to another set of mobs is overpowered. I haven't tried using the spirit though, I might try it, but I've just been more focused on Attack speed, since in my eyes, more cast = more consistent fast damage, and more overpower procs since I'm spending Essence a lot quicker.
Bone spirit to generate an outcome. Had same problem with Shadow Clone Smoke bomb build I created. Using smoke bomb rapidly doesn't spend resource so preparation was useless. So I introduced flurry to spend resource to proc Preparation. And thus I could dump resources to lower ultimate.
Wow, I had no idea this interaction was bugged! Happy I came here to review your build as my go-to necro guy. Really was getting excited for sever but having to forego the unique boots is rough and feels like it would be subpar (until we get a fix hopefully). The Bone Spirit tech is cool but I kind of just want to spam Sever mostly :/
I'm only on torment one right now so nowhere near optimal, but what I've been doing personally is using one maker with the new aspect and it's been working well so far, I was trying the blood boiling aspect for guaranteeing overpowers every few seconds which helped with the flat damage from the blood orb pickups, I thought of going for that 70% overpower multiplier in that Paragon board but wasn't sure if it'd be that great again because of the inconsistent overpowering. But now it looks like we're getting there, I am using corpse tendrils to generate blood orbs for healing and a little bit of resource gain or ultimate cool down reduction, haven't decided which one feels better yet, corpse exposure into pop every few seconds just for the extra 9% damage. Multiplier, again, this is not optimal, but it's very fun, reminds me of the poison scythe build from Diablo 3.
Can we use the Soul Rift Necro from the Tier List, that you made, till we get the right gear for this build ? Considering that I need to get the Mythics before getting there. I just started this season.
If we want to try a straight up Sever spam build (without bone skills), should we avoid all tempers for double dmg and use different boots? What would be the next best temper?
I keep seeing people in random corners of the internet say "overpower damage wasn't stat squished" but as far as I can tell, this is just a thing that someone said, and then someone else said it, and eventually it turned into a lot of people saying it. But I haven't yet seen any evidence that it's true. Does anyone have anything *conclusive* and/or *definitive* on this claim that some people are making? edit: also, this is a cool build ^^ enjoy seeing the showcase and hearing you discuss it.
It's a little more complicated than "not squished". As Mac said, the ratio of base health to max health is absolutely insane, and that delta translates to tens of thousands of additive OP damage. Additive damage and multipliers were not squished, base damage was which generates lower numbers, but when you get that much extra additive, shit gets weird.
I've been running a blood wave build without banished lord's for the ranks in blood skills. It's a constant overpower build that clears pit 87. Would banished lord's push it higher?
interesting, I will follow your progress on this. Myself i'm fooling around with Blood Surge and have managed to get it to do up to 1.8B damage and without any mythic items. :)
Is this T87 on Tormented IV level? Edit: ok I saw your screen now. Very very nice!! T4 and those stats are great. What if you don’t have any mythic or uniques? How can you pull off a similar build just using Legendary equipment?
I really like Sever in S5, Sever is my favorite skill. This season I've been playing only Spiritborn. But as first thought, what if you use Ruby in Weapon ? more overpower, move the rune to armor
there's an opportunity in Bloodbath board, can use Gravekeeper/Abyssal to boost Overpower (probably remove Amplify). also seems need more willpower to get the Eradicate node in last board. swap perdition for shako to hit 275 max resource ? not sure if iron maiden rune gets the Enhanced Iron Maiden as well, but it could as well be another resource generator and then enables your weapon to have overpower instead lucky hit resource
Shroud of false death? Gains extra passives point. 333% increase to damage after going stealth. Huge % life roll which increases overpower damage. Then can run rune for rogue stealth.
They nerfed shroud in the patch notes for tomorrow, no longer 222%, now ÷800 life, not the massive boost it was but given the effect I still think it's well worth using, also helps with all stats too I guess. Just don't want you to be disappointed tomorrow!
What about going for the legendary node that gives you multiplier when you pick up blood orbs, since there are resource powers that let you get essence or ultimate cooldown when picking up blood orbs, and we are already going for the overpower legendary node board, there's stuff like damage well healthy as well
My only question seeing this build is what does it gain from running Sever instead of just doing Bone Spirit overpower, which multipliers does it have access that you wouldn't be able to tap into with Bone Spirit.

The meat of my question is as follows: does this build incorporate Sever to accomplish something Bone Spirit can't, or is this a suboptimal Bone Spirit build used to prop up Sever so we have a strong build using Sever? I love this, I am reading comments and see everyone having fun finding ways to use different skills..... meanwhile I am here hitting my head into the brick wall that is barbarian although I did come across something that is clearing T4 for me. Ugly Bast helm with frostburn and Rakanoths wake and bam all dmg I do is fire and gets huge dmg modifiers because fire
What are the odds they fix the sever deals 2x damage temper? I'd rather continue playing sever as is (I don't need to push pit 80+) without re-specing. This overpower build is a bit too advanced for me.

You think they should have to wait a whole year or more for it to be viable? Don't give the devs more of an excuse to put fixes off.

Ok, it's kinda fun and "quirky" but feels like so much effort just to scratch what other builds can achieve with waaaaay less effort. And i don't really think there is as much ceiling as you expect, you need what ? 3 ubers just to "start" this... But GL, i'll keep an eye, just in case!
@@martin3058they're not the same bro, they're the same in the way that both builds use Bone Spirit for DMG however they're played completely differently, pure bone spirit build utilizes max essence and constant overpowers to deal damage aswell as bone prison and bone splinters.. where as spirit wave uses the consumption of blood orbs to proc bone spirit (hence why blood lance is used in the spirit wave build) IMO spirit wave is the better build in terms of consistency and is waaaaaay more fun however in small areas (like narrow corridors in dungeons) is where spirit wave can lack. (Im sure macro might be able to expand more on this but i think ive done ok) Pure bone spirit build is all about stacking bone spirit dmg for huge explosions Spirit wave build is all about stacking bone spirit + max life to increase your bone spirit damage You have to always remember with spirit wave it uses blood artisans cutless and max life= extra dmg

@@MacroBioBoi Hypothetically you could do this with just about any skill, right? You just need to eat a ton of essence to guarantee the OP proc. So you could use the same tactic for a variety of skills that can OP, you only really want to watch for overlapping unique requirements. Is that right?
I appreciate your cool ideas, you're a great build maker! And I love the fantasy of the Necromancer, in every game. But the necromancer builds in diablo 4 are by far the clunkiest I've ever seen, every time I come back to play necro I'm amazed at the mental gymnastics and acrobatics that you need to do to compete in dmg with other classes.
@@Peatopher90 that's a personal feeling. Projecting into onto others is where the disconnect is probably happening. You know how some people like chocolate ice cream and others like vanilla? Well if I found out there's a $100 chocolate ice cream made out of edible gold, that wouldn't make me enjoy chocolate ice cream any more than I currently do. Same here.

You know what's funny? I am avoiding Overpower builds because HP rolls don't exist and when they do, they aren't ancient rolls or masterwork. Ever.

Another idea. Machine gun blight. AS of 61%+. Andi's Visage, Ebon Piercer, Blood Artisan's Curias. May not be S tier but it is a fun build.

Pit levels aren't determined by the Torment level, it has its own system and is the same difficulty regardless of the Torment level.

I think it's simply an optimization for Server build. Not to be compared against Bone Spirit.
Why not put Requiem Aspect in, when you already utilizing Bone Prison?

debating on translating into thorns with it as all dmg I do while berserking is fire dmg due to Ugly Bast helm

The mythics aren't part of the functionality of the build. I've already dropped Tyraels.

That's not better, because you wouldn't be using sever on a sever necromancer anymore. You'd be playing a bone spirit necromancer, which is different.
