“The Zentangle ® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the "Elemental Strokes" in all Zentangle art. These patterns are drawn on small pieces of paper called "tiles." We call them tiles because you can assemble them into mosaics.

I live in DePere Wisconsin, just South of Green Bay. I am just beginning to learn zentangle. Watching videos, accumulating tools and enjoying the tangles. I am 80 years young and have been married for 55 years. Thank you for the 100 tangles. They are going into my tangle collection.
Hi. I’m from Chicago but living in St Paul MN. rip old age of 66 and I have been working every day. Not many in the office. Most work from home. My job requires me go to work which is great. I live a lone and getting out is great for me. also was in a funk for the last month or more. So I’m so happy you’re back. And what ever you do teach is really fine with me. 🌈🌈☺️

This is from Shannon. I loved your last 100 days. And I’m so glad you are back at it. Yesterday’s was beautiful and today’s was fun. I love both the organic and the non organic tangles equally. So you do you, and I’ll follow along. Oh, I do love it when you combine a few tangles in one tile, that’s always fun, so I guess I’d say more of those. My husband has a blood cancer with no cure, only treatment. So, you are a welcome distraction for my mental health. Zentangle keeps me in the moment. So I follow other tangleers on TH-cam as well. I’m so great full to all of you. Thank you cindy for your great “conversation”. I saw your photos of the adoption of your son....congrats! I’m sure you are a wonderful mom. Stay safe out there. Hearing you talk in this video is bittersweet. The covid lock-down was a year old when you started this series. Now it's the end of September 2021 and we're in the wave of the delta variant and still locked down. I'm starting your 100 days to keep my sanity. Thank you! Hope you are well.

Thank you for the instructions. I have arthritis in my hands with 2 screws in ring and pinky finger of my dominant hand. I struggle sometimes with certain patterns. I'm glad I'm not alone with imperfection.

I love the line of a single S curve but when I try to put them them together.....it’s bad. I did manage to S-urve my way through this and I used the spaces to add Pepper, Diva Dance, Knightsbridge, and Zante. I don’t hate it. Still waiting for the vaccine. Oregon put educators ahead of seniors so it won’t be til the end of Feb (more like March) before I’m eligible to get one. For my own health I stay home, for the most part. With these new variants showing up I’m feeling like this will never end. Glad I can keep myself entertained with drawing. Many thanks for taking this 100 Days project on again this year.

I too have been struggling this past while. Just couldn’t pick up a pen or needles for the past month or more. Thanks for giving me the boast I needed. Wow tangling 2 days in a row now. So tired of all the restrictions. Feel like we seniors are the only ones staying home. Just go for groceries. Sending hugs and blessings from Winnipeg. 🇨🇦🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the explanation regarding where to start and land between the “parallel” lines. I had tried to follow Shie’s drawing and just drew those lines more or less randomly. Now I get it!
Hi! I am 59-from Ohio, and new to Zentangles and am hooked! I have taken an online course in pattern design (trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up 😂) and realized how awesome some of these tangles would be in a pattern, for let’s say wallpaper. I think I would love to become a CZT also. Just started your 100 day challenge and am so glad I found you!
These type tangles always seem so easy and they always go wonky with me! I start off just fine, and then the confusion and lostness sets in and I have a mess... and I keep going because, no mistakes, and end up with something that I think looks pretty cool!
I've done all your 100 day projects! Here I am, a little behind! I pretty much always watch till the end, because that's how long it takes me, and it really is like tangling with a friend! I love how "in the zone" I get. Thank you! -Liz, Northern California

This tangle is tricky at the edges and you worked them beautifully. My name is claudia and I am in Sunnyvale, California. And yes, it is sunny and 61 F today, February 2021.
Thanks for sharing your talent. I won't keep up every day, but will go back and watch your videos later with my paper and pencils. I love your shading! I am in Oklahoma and have been inside for most of this covid time. 70+ and lots of health issues. Watching the drawing and learning new things has really helped! Thanks again and God bless you!

Thank you for the Shout Out... just keeping the line dangling (LOL!) and today was great - I love being challenged by certain tangles... I had to take my husband to the VA today for a health issue (something we have been dealing with since last June but fortunately NOT Covid) so I was mighty ready when we got home to sit down and have some sweet tangle time! Thank you!

Oh I like this tangle I filled it in with other tangles and it came out very nicely and this is my third year drawing the 100 days of zentangle with you I’ve enjoyed it and I’m glad you’re back because it gave me an incentive to start drawing again

I found this tangle to be tricky to get the curve right. I am sure with practice it will get easier.

Hi! I’m Cathy from McMinnville, OR. I recently finished the 2020 100 days - got a late start. But I think I may actually catch up to you this year. My favorite tangle is Rick’s paradox. I’ve enjoyed getting to learn the more organic types, too. And you HAVE taught me a lot about shading! One suggestion - could you let us know what types of color pens or pencils are used before the lesson begins so we can have them ready? Thanks and I appreciate all your efforts to keep this going!!

Hi...I always watch from start to the end. I enjoy these videos so much I even pause a while to savour all I'm learning from you. I'm in Queensland, Australia and zentangle has been a real lifesaver to me in these times. We are nearly covid free here as our borders have been closed since last March. I love this tangle, and am almost finished and looking forward to tomorrow's now😊. I have an Instagram account but don't do much there as I don't really know how. I am big on Facebook and bigger on utube which is where I'm seeing all your posts. So I'll just keep up with you on utube. I'm not a social media fan as well Cindy so you are not alone. So...happy tangling and I'll be watching tomorrow for sure. Maybe not daily, but as often as possible...by the way, we are in the height of summer now and here is high 80s to 90s with humidity as high as the temps. 💖🙌

Hi, I'm from Surrey, England and am relatively new to Zentangling. I love it and find it, much needed, relaxing I have followed this video and added my own twist to it. Is there anywhere to upload photos and see other members work?
I really like your tangles, but find the music is very distracting. I love music but have had a stroke almost 5 years ago. I've healed well but still have great difficulty in doing 2 things at once. I'm not trying to be mean but would really like to hear your wonderful voice. Any who like to do art with music can freely play their own. .
What do you think about using color and shading in color?
I’m stuck in a nursing home because of pressure sore issues. Who knows if I’ll ever get outta here.

is a graphite pencil different from a regular pencil that you use in school?
Not at all.
This was a doozy. Restarted about 3 times and ended up with something after all. LOL 😂 I filled with color and lines or echos to try and hide all those opportunities. 🤣 How can we see tangles posted on Instagram by those who follow you? At 74 I’m really new to tangling and a first timer on Instagram. I’m probably driving my FB friends crazy with my postings of tangles. I always follow you to the end. Just love the art and info. Am on day44 of 2020 Series so it’s a treat from Caregiver duties to sit and relax and draw. Polly in Arizona
