I met him at a Lakers game in 1987. I told him I was listening to the way it is on my way to the Forum. He was glad to hear !
I love that song brings back so many great memories when I was in my 20s working and raising my kids. Time flies way to fast 😢
This is one of those special songs that can't help but put a smile on your face.
Until you realize it's about a girl getting an abortion
I find it sad.
@@adamclark9004 Its pretty clear to me that it was about sending girls away to give birth in secret and forcing them to give away their babies and pretend nothing ever happened. Hence the "gone a while" verse.
@@Seek1878 are you sure? Because I swear he said it was about a young girls getting an abortion
@@adamclark9004 Well if you can find a source of him saying that I'd be interested to read it. But from the song I always got the impression from "everyone noticed she was gone a while" it referred to being sent to one of those unwed mother homes, because an abortion doesn't take even a whole day....
The upbeat energy and good vibes Bruce (and his band) give off when they play is so evident and contagious! They must have had a great time working together on this.
I think it's great that Bruce got Jack Nicholson to play drums. In all seriousness, a great song by a great artist with an incredible band
THAT'S what he looks like! LOL Thanks.
And Leo Sayer playing guitar 🎸 in the middle 😂
And Conway Twitty on bass lol
Or is that Michael Ironsides, one of my favorite “movie bad guys”?
@@marcfleischmann9911 lol I was just thinking that the drummer looked like Michael Ironside trying to look like Jack Nicholson.
Man, what memories 😊
They all looked like they were having a good time👍🏾
This is a lovable song that makes you feel warm and fuzzy, and good about life.
Actual listening to the lyrics and it's much darker. Things like this actually happened. Euphemisms were used as they were in real life
I think it is about sending the daughter away for an abortion?
@@leisureshoot not an abortion but the unwed mother was sent away until she gave birth and the child was placed for adoption. Then she came back like nothing had happened.
@@paulsonj72 ah.. Thanks
Lol what? I love this song but its kinda depressing. Classism and forcing girls to give up their kids and all...
This video is what you see when you quit watching the news(CNN, FOX & etc) and get out and really see what America is about!
Go out West, and Colorado, the Rockies are God's Cathedral's. I first saw God in his magnificent splendour in those mountains.
@Jewish Banker
No, I didn't need acid.
Yup. Real America. And I'm a Limey. We dig it.
Did they play this at any of Orange Man rallies ? Same good feeling.
