- Visiting Moab, Utah | Small Town America and Bucket List Travel Destination | RV America Y'all
This week we begin our Moab, Utah adventures! This small town turned bucket list travel destination is famous for its proximity to two national parks: Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. And those national parks attract millions of visitors to Moab every year.
BUT, is Moab UT ONLY about the national parks?? That's what we set out to discover in this week's video. We'll share things to do in Moab, places to eat and where we stayed during our time in Moab.
Be sure to join us again next week as we share our experience taking 5 guided tours in Moab... are the guided tours worth the money? That's next week's video! See you next Sunday!

🤠 Thanks For Watching!
We are Tom and Stacie Langland, known for 10 years as RV Texas Y'all.
We are Native Texans and Full-Time RVers who are all about exploring the Great State of Texas and America one campground at a time. We're on a mission to experience life, not just live it and we're bringing you along for the fun.
In 2018, we sold our house, our business and gave away just about everything we own to hit the road and see America. Our home is a 33' motorhome named Freedom. We installed an extreme solar and lithium battery setup so now we can camp just about anywhere with our dog (Star) and our cat (Astro).
Every day is a new adventure, so join us as we RV America Y'all.
Safe Travels and Happy Camping!

We drove through Moab today and said we need to come back.
Absolutely 👍🏻
Every video of yours make me want to visit the place you’re visiting. I’ve just added more items to my Moab list to see, do and stay. You 2 are great storytellers. Thank you💜🙏🏻
Thanks Joanne! 😊
we also stayed at the k o a was very good
Cool
We were in the area in April, staying 3 nights at Dead Horse Point State Park. What an absolutely gorgeous view from the point! We visited both Arches National Park and Islands in the Sky section of Canyonlands National Park. Earlier we visited Natural Bridges National Monument and the Needles section of Canyonlands. We also headed to Capitol Reef National Park. Still need another trip to visit Bryce Canyon and Zion. Utah has some amazing and beautiful places to visit. Wish we could have spent more time sightseeing in Moab but we were on a tight schedule. Thanks for sharing your visit to Moab and the surrounding area.
Your welcome Gail, sounds like you had an incredible trip yourself! 🙌🏻
Moab is one of my favorite places. As the sign says when you leave town “Moab Again and Again!” We were there two years ago and went back this August. Spanish Trails RV park is great as is Portal RV park. I hope you took your Jeep on some of the trails. We took our Cherokee Trailhawk on several trails. So much fun! We can wait to go back!
Thanks Kelly, not our Jeep but we did some trails! 😊
We were in Moab in 2017 on our out west trip to see as many National parks as we could. We were there in July and it was over 100 degrees! We stayed about a week in OK RV Park, we were using passport America and they participated. We had a 42 foot 5th wheel so stayed about halfway back. There was no shade and the 2 AC units ran continuously but couldn't keep up, the coolest they could get it was 90 during the day but we were too busy having fun to care. We did a float trip down the river, (guided) and also did a night cruise on the river in which they shined lights on the rocks and had a story. They served us dinner first. Then of course we saw both Arches and Canyonlands. We also stayed in Koosharem, Utah and from there went to another National Park, Capital Reef which was absolutely gorgeous. I recommend taking the time. They said it is much less seen than the rest because it's kind of off the main drag but we loved it. The reason we went to Koosharem is we donated 3 horses to the Boys Ranch there in 2011. Two of them were only yearlings when we donated them so we went there to visit and tour the ranch, and see our horses, both Palomino mares. They made good riding horses for the kids so that's what mattered. We ate regularly at the Koosharem diner in town.
Wow, thanks for sharing your journey! That’s really cool about the horses y’all donated, I know the kids probably loved them! ❤️
Wow... Tom & Stacie, you two are nothing short of awesome!! Been looking for some great video's for Colorado & Utah. Came across your channel and were blown away! My wife and I are heading out there the first of the month. We're learning quite a bit from you two on these places. We're going to Hoover Dam and then on to Zion, Dixie, Bryce, Canyonlands & Moab / Arches. Of course, we want to take a lot of video & pic's while out there therefore, we're wondering if you're using a GoPro on some of your footage? If you are, do you mind sharing your settings? We have a Hero 10 and 7 and an iPhone 13 Pro Max (using Beastcam) and Sony PXW-X70. Trying to keep things downsized.....LOL. We both applaud and Thank You for sharing your adventures! Be safe and enjoy!! 👍
Thanks so much! Most of the videos were shot with a GoPro on 4K with stabilization! Good luck! 👍🏻
@@rvamericayall Thanks, appreciate it. 👍

Thank you. You two always do great videos.
Thanks Joe! 🙌🏻
I LOVE ALL THESE PETROGLOFFS
We did too! 😃
Thanks for showing this. We will be in Moab for 3 1/2 days in early October. We are taking the Rocky Mountaineer train from Denver to Moab and coming back to Denver on the train. We arrive on a Thursday at noon and leave the following Monday afternoon. I will be getting the Moab Rock book you showed. Thanks for the information. 😊
You’re welcome Tom, I know you will enjoy your stay!

Moab Diner is a great place. Their green chili is surprisingly good. Very good on eggs.
Absolutely 👍🏻
I'm ready to go back to Moab. There are so many things we didn't get to do when we were there a few years back. One thing we had to do though was stop what we were doing long enough to watch your "Facebook Friday". We were in Dead Horse State Park at the time having our picnic lunch. haha
We totally remember that FB Friday, wow!!! Thanks for the great memory! 🙌🏻
We stayed here in April of 2023..
😎
Utah looks great. But you guys should check out Wyoming. The new Texas. I know crazy, huh? know what's in Wyoming. But people are moving there. Check you later!! Go Coogs! Well, they lost to Rice.
Yep Rodd we think it’s going to be a rough football season! Wyoming is awesome & we need to definitely explore it more! Thanks 😊
Great video, guys; I love Moab and Utah in general. I'm a fellow Texan in Houston. I have friends who go to Moab for the "rock crawling" trails. If you're ever in the area, check out Hurricane/St. George SW of Zion. I spent a lot of time in Vernal, Utah, when working the oilfields, and I love the state. I can't wait for next week's video to see more of what I haven't seen in 20-plus years; thanks.
👍🏻
If you can't find a place in Moab you might try Ballard RV Park in Thompson Springs. That's where we stayed. We visited Arches for a few days, also Canyonlands, and Deadhorse State Park.
Thanks for the suggestion!
2 weeks in Moab, that would be Heaven, but I think i would get bored after a week.
There is so much to do there, I bet you wouldn’t get bored! 😴
Did you notice the film crews out by Red Cliffs Lodge? We were there about the same time you were last year and found a filming location by Fisher Towers.
We did see them off in the distance! 😎
We just came back from Moab and are editing our videos. I agree, Moab has so much to do and see. We did Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point, and offroading. Our Moab mini series will be posted starting in October, feel free to check them out!
😎 thanks for letting us know, we will check it out!
View Moab, Utah using Google Earth search engine from ~70 miles altitude. That landscape was sculpted by supersonic winds laden with dust layed down and creating the layering, valleys, and mountains. Uplifted and deposited sand turned to stone, commonly referred to as sandstone. The universe is indeed electric. The so called "debunked" Electric Universe model. 😊
That’s cool thanks Harold!
I do moab different. You spend your time in stores and shops and tours. I spend it in nature- trails, hiking, etc. No wrong way, just different. im sure you got out there...just not this video. your tour video i saw was pretty cool. Chicken Corners is a good trail to check out. Shafer, White Rim too.
Sounds awesome, thanks for the trails we need to get next time!
Such an amazing place. How sad that folks feel the need to vandalize.
That’s for sure!
Love ur video's more now without the intro.😊
OK, thanks for the feedback! 😊
PETROGLIFFS
😎
We just came from that area and didn’t take any tours. It will be interesting to see what tours you took and the prices of the tours. We enjoyed going into the parks a few times so we could do several trails in each park. If you haven’t gone to Zion you need to check out that National park too.
We will get to Zion next time! Hope you enjoy the tours video!
