just had my u-haul hitch and wiring install today and it was not like this, unfortunately. Wish I had this lady doing the work! the guy that installed mine told me to place the wiring under the hatch...might redo myself or elsewhere...
You can easily do what she did, it would take five minutes. Just pop the panel off the left side and get to the access holes, take out the rubber seal, and drop the line through, run the line to the hitch. You can then add a bracket like she did or zip tie the line to the hitch. I installed it like the lady did, before I seen this video. It would kind of be obvious to take that route while you're doing the install. The mounting braket she used doesn't come with the kit I had and I didn't have one in the hitch bay, so it was just zip tied to the hitch where the fancy bracket would go.
1) My 2018 has no connection in back of the tail/break lights. 2) That hitch 75923? Requires the piece of plastic under the fender to be notched out to reinstall on the car after the hitch is installed. 3) Wires should go down inside along the gunnel.
Just paid $800 dollars to have a towing package installed on my 2018 RAV4 and they didn’t install the wiring harness. Is this normal? Is it not included?
I don’t understand why people run the wires underneath the car. There are channels at the bottom of the door frames for that purpose . Also, what a Joke that toyota doesn't provide a connection point under the dash for a brake controller in our 2018 Rav4 Adventure. Sheesh.
Thanks! I've done a few wiring harnesses, but it sure is nice to see a good vehicle specific video
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video. Very good rundown that made the job much easier!
Thank you for the run through. Now I know what to expect, very helpful.
Great video. Thank you very much for sharing the information.

How do you keep your hands and nails so perfectly kept when working on cars with out gloves all day? LOL.
Thanks Rhonda

Where at the dealer?
No, it would be included at that price

the 3500 pound RAV 4 adventure tow rating was an afterthought and marketing gimmick. I don't think they really intend it for serious towing. IMO
What if it's a hybrid
It's the same
