I havent played the guitar in years and hearing this made me want to play and sing. So I took it out of storage and played along with you for about an hours worth of music. Best me time Ive spent in quite some time.
Dude, I'll just come out and say it -- Yours are some of the best damn covers (and I watch a lot of them) I've seen on TH-cam. You've got a great sound with the guitar and your vocals are just top notch. Phenomenal. This has always been one of my favorite Dead tunes, and you did it more than justice. Made my day.
Thumbs up mike. I have no idea why anyone would thumbs down this beautiful peace of work you've shared with us. I applaud you, don't care if you can see/hear me you get the lighter and a standing ovation! ENCORE
Excellent. Great guitarists with small voices are all over youtube. I find it so refreshing to hear this one sung by someone who also possesses a really great voice. Keep improving on the guitar, it's not bad at all, but there is so much you can do.
That was very well done my friend! I don't know how many people were actually there but I believe you should've had a hell of a lot more applause than what I heard. Thanks for sharing man. Two thumbs up!
Nicely done. I was literally walking down Grosvenor square today for the first time in my life and thought of this song. Thanks for this beautiful rendition.
Excellent. With a cover version there can be limitations but there can be advantages. One advantage is the lyrics are clear and easy to listen to compared to the original (which get drowned out by the instruments).. Also, the way you sing the lyrics you capture the spirit of the original version.
As far as solo acoustic versions go, I really don't see how it can get much better than this. Take it from someone who tries often enough to have a better than valid opinon.
Not sure if I've posted this in this video before, but Mike and Jeff are listened to on my ipod more than any other artist.....and I pride myself on my music collection
Mike, Not a big Dead Fan but always enjoyed this song, great job on vocals as well as the chord work.... Have you heard Jimmy Buffet's version with Sonny Landreth? Regards, Art
Mike, great performances here. Would you mind sharing how you recorded the performance at Pie? The sound is great!. And I love the end note ("Phil, your pie is ready, Phil").
I didn't know Louis C.K. was a Deadhead in his younger years. Haha, perfect cover man, you did the song justice and that's the highest complement I can offer.
I love it - "We sold some mushroom tea, we sold some ecstasy, we sold nitrous, acid, heroin and PCP and now I hear the police coming after me." Interesting you got away singing that song in the Mormon capital of the world. Good shit dude - you rock - I'm a fan!

How can you not smile while listening to this sing.
Best solo performance of that I’ve ever heard. Very nicely done.
"Strangers stopping strangers, just to shake their hand"....I need to live this mantra..
Cant be another better acoustic version, than this one.
Fantastic!
This one is my favorite. Always has been. Your voice is perfect for it.
Thanks! I haven't watched all of it yet, but I enjoyed your stuff, too.
Excellent cover. Learning it on my acoustic. Trying to persuade my band to give it a whirl. This might help persuade them. Great job.
Best version ever.
