VCR stands for Video Cassette Recorder. This VCR was recorded at the backstage and being played for the audience while EXO members were changing clothes for their next performance. As you notice in the end, it ended with them preparing to come out on stage, then that's how their live performance followed.
This video was shot under the stage and in the backstage waiting rooms, etc. at this concert. If you had watched the continuation of this with the next section of their live concert performance, you would have seen them pick up from where the video left off as they enter the stage once again. This VCR leads into the next section of their concert and all the members appear on stage with these same outfits on. That's why it started out with Tao on stage and continued with them as the camera followed them as they ran through the halls under the stage and backstage of the concert venue. The VCR was a clever, cute way to give the members a chance to take a breather while preparing for the next section in their concert and it gave the fans a kind of behind the scenes look at what the backstage/understage area looks like. I'm pretty sure this VCR was not shot live, but it was shown in between two sections of their concert and it was made to look like it could have been live. But while the audience was watching it I think the members were probably behind stage taking a break and getting ready for the next section of the concert.
