Walking The Brecon Beacons - The Blorenge at Sunrise

- It's been too hot for walking the Brecon Beacons but I chanced an early morning stroll onto the Blorenge trig point a few days ago. It's a very easy walk from the Foxhunter Car Park The heather is looking lovely at this time of the year.

Morning mate, it's just that - a great place for a nice easy morning walk - the car park to the trig point is hardly an incline at all - one of them hills with a road that takes you "right to the top" - a lovely place to watch the sun come up over the Usk Valley, great for inversions too. Morning Mr Foodie, I am more a loose English Breakfast type these days - in fact I think its become a bit of an obsession 🙂 atb Al
@@thevalleywalker I used to love drinking loose teas. Had a nice teapot, the strainer etc. It was an obsession too, sort of a ritual also. But then I went to Italy, had an amazing espresso for breakfast, and everything changed. The energy from one, it's like a strong drug, and seems to give me super-human powers for an hour or so. This was my first herbal tea for breakfast in ages. Back to espresso this morning. 😆
@@SimonBurnCreative I have my own little pot with infuser too and about 8 different breakfast blends - I ought to do a comparison on them 😀 I love the smell of fresh coffee but can't stand the taste...I am a bit weird like that 😁
@@thevalleywalker Same Al, I love the smell of coffee but don't enjoy drinking it as much. I can only drink thick strong espresso. Weird. If you make a video about your teas, I would watch that!
Looks like you had some good conditions there that day, sunrise was lovely and the heather in the early morning light looked really nice, some great images including the trig point :-)
Hi Lee, it was a lovely morning to be fair - I have seden better conditions up there but in honesty it was just good to be out. The heather up there is fantastic but I'll b honest I find it hard to get a compsoition or view that shows it off in all it's splendour. Good Morning mate, at that time of the morning my only thoughts were "why am I doing this"..lol 🤣🤣 Seriously though, it was lovely get get out early, something I don't do very often these days. The Blorenge is one of the best places around here with easy access - unless you car to climb some of the big hills. Atb Al

Glad you enjoyed it....the blorenge is a perfect spot for a short walk at sunrise... walking up the path before sunrise you are likely to encounter the red grouse who hunker down up near the trig point and to hear them is magical - you will nto be disappointed. I was up on Carne Y Cefn a few weeks ago and could hear them. Hope you are3 having a good BH . I am unable to get out atm, wife has just come home from a month in hospital and is bed bound so I need to be here for her more or less 24/7. atb Al

Magical Alan is the best word I can find to do your video Justice. I've yet to visit the Blorenge.... done all of the other peaks in the Abergavenny area so hopefully soon 👍😊
Good Morning Paul, I am surprised you haven't been on the Blorenge - it's a nice easy walk and there is a lovely corcular walk around it taking in the punchbowl, a gorgeous little pond hidden from most views... atb Al
