1:28 So when you do this in real life, the dirt will in fact take up more space than it originally did. This is because it is less compact after being disturbed. The extra space is air gaps.
@Aikey No, the soil's own weight will not be enough to compress it back together. To achieve original compaction you need re-fill in 100mm layers and compact each layer as you go. If the uncompacted soil is too far beneath the surface you can't apply enough pressure to it to compact it. Or you can just wait as with time and rain the soil's own weight will eventually cause it to compact, so what you say is true in the long term (but that's not what we see in the video). However if you do go this route the uncompacted mound will eventually become a divet as it's impossible to put *all* the soil back into the hole.
@@TonkarzOfSolSystem He's also standing on it. The weight of a human would absolutely be enough to compress it again. Not to mention there will be a point where the dirt is simply just unable to become less compact. The fun fact you gave is cool, but as Aikey said it's really not reasonable.
@@malchickoleander No, you need at least three tons for 200mm compaction, that's why rollers are 3 ton minimum. Mass on soil puts soil under pressure, pressure spreads as it transmits downwards, this results in a rapid reduction of pressure on deeper soils. This strictly limits how deep soil can be when you're attempting to compact it and strictly requires a minimum amount of mass.
When Josh pulled out the second item at the crafter, I thought he was gonna try to find a way to automate the movement of the refunded iron bar so he could just sit there spamming the lever.

19:20 the meme where physicists hold Albert Einstein comes up in my head immediately after seeing this haha
One thing I love is how 2 days after this was published the devs release bug fixes

@@enderdude5000 how did u answer to a comment younger than ur reply what
"Yes we're all very proud of you" lmfao, as it spits out a tiny clump of dirt. Man, I just can't get enough of this channel
It's great that he's spent so little time digging in this game that he didn't know you could create an infinite amount of dirt. Or he waited until he could use it for a good joke. Either way, nice job.
Me: damn wish he would make some more content
Josh: 4256 hours later….
yeah bro sometimes im like damnnn why cant there be faster and more content.. and then i realize that this beautyfull channel really put in time and effort for our joy just like one of his last videos where he left his game on for a whole week so i get now why it takes so long and i am still happy when i see his vids pop upp
this is exactly what i was thinking
@@1JanChris ffrfr
I'll wait as long as it takes, his videos are great. They wouldn't have that same feel if he pumped out videos like LankyBox or something.
"I think we know what we need to do"
I actually felt my face twitch out of anxiety
The sign is still here, the lore is untouched. Perfection.
JOSH : what are you doing buddy, stop it. im trying to explain the conveyor belts, its so distracting lol.
Tractor : "spazing out LMAO
that had me LAUGHING so hard lol
RCE: *uses actual engineering*
LGIO: "imma just commit war crimes in the mines"
Who is "RCE"?
Nvm found him, it's *"Real Civil Engineer"*
This is so true I love them both such great TH-camrs
They are both the complete opposite of each other
@@SpiiiiiceeMAN yes and it's fantastic
imagine both of them playing this game in co-op mode.
they will do the wrong things, the right way.
lol
Not the devs putting a warning sign after all the chaos Josh has caused 💀
Thats a good game developer right there
1 billion coins Bounty on him

The new biome of dirt trees. The "it's a - alright get ready for this - " sponsorship. The commitment to "I'm just going to sit here for 20 minutes with this frozen screen to see if the game will somehow recover or give in and crash!" checking in with us all the while. The actual existence of "okay I think thats TOO much stuff, gotta clear it"
Another marvelous, masterpiece of a video.
You can't forget the literal days poured into making the conveyor/magnetism system. I mean... Sure, it's inefficient in that Josh way that he makes things intentionally inefficient, but holy crab cakes it actually works.
@@ginnungagap9793 he didn't even give us a time estimate on that part!! ☠️
Josh: the QA tester that game developers didn't know they needed
Josh is the only person I've ever seen capable of stress testing how long a game can take to crash
DangerouslyFunny also enjoys it, I hope they collab someday and ruin more games, but 2X the dumb

@@InternetBirb I agree
Can we appreciate how he spends hours playing a game just to entertain us.
truly a job many of us want to have but cant.
I think he entertains himself pretty well, too
@@viennasausages.
I don't think that 3 hours or such buttonsmashing for 300+ items ist that much fun.
He literally ist the personifikation of sisyphus.
I like how hydroneer thinks they get things to a good place and then Josh comes along to let them know they haven't
@mikea hiooi stolen
The fact there is a WANTED POSER for you makes me so intrigued. Like, you've been playing this for 2+ years! Like with the PIT of dynamite! :D such good times :')
The fact that there’s limiting stock for the tier 1 shop near the dig site shows the devs are watching his videos and trying to stop his chaos, but unfortunately/fortunately he always finds another thing to accomplish.
Life, uh, finds a way.
@@vetheros For better or for worse.
But when it comes to Josh, it's always the latter.

when I think josh is done...he goes like:
"hold my beer"
🤣🤣🤣
Josh: Hey everyone, welcome back to let’s game it out!
Developers sitting at a table: No, please god no
Josh: …And today we are going to playing Hydroneer and checking out the new 2.0 update!
Devs: no no No NO NO NO NOOOO
He's a game player debugging the game, what more can the developers ask for, nothing like free help
This guy's dedication to creating his own worst gaming experience is truly inspiring
1:28 So when you do this in real life, the dirt will in fact take up more space than it originally did. This is because it is less compact after being disturbed. The extra space is air gaps.
How deep is a hole right
@Aikey No, the soil's own weight will not be enough to compress it back together.
@@TonkarzOfSolSystem It is a shovel fill of dirt my guy
When Josh pulled out the second item at the crafter, I thought he was gonna try to find a way to automate the movement of the refunded iron bar so he could just sit there spamming the lever.
I love how you can tell he got to the elevator and went "this isn't nearly wasteful enough"
"Aw, man, the system i made actually works?! Time to fix that!"
Josh is just so unique instead of just saying “link” he goes out of his way to say “Linkie”
So josh achieved the “wanted” sign for theft, I think the next wanted sign in this game is war crimes 😂
Well he did nuke the dwarven capital city, so yeah.
It’s beyond war crimes at this point it’s crimes against humanity
At this point he just wants to increase the wanted reward
