    Printing all the boxes I'd need would be time consuming tho! Maybe this can create a mould that can be used to pour something like resin or some other liquid plastic into. Maybe thick latex if they are just inserts in a stronger surrounding box.

    Elephant in the room- they are not transparent. So you cannot see the contents.
    If you are happy with this, you might as well print the whole drawer.
    BUT vertically stacking (Z axis) small drawers is inferior to stacking XY. Large, shallow drawers (say 1m by how deep your workbench is) means you can look down on the content- so transparent is no bonus. Plus, you get a much more flexible layout. I use a basic module of 55mm x 40mm- and make them in multiples of each dimension. Ideally single depth (you want to see EVERYTHING) but you could go double.
    Colour coding (filament) is useful for some parts. I use the resistor colour code for my small metric nuts and bolts- no need to wonder what size each one is.
    I used to waste time hunting through little drawers- no more. Pull and pick.

    This is a cool parametric design site. However, it should offer to not print the bottom. I mean other than the second level (or beyond) when stacking, printing the bottom is a waste of time and filament. I'll likely use this site but, I'll then import the file into Fusion 360 and remove the bottom.

    • @sebastiansombra
      @sebastiansombra 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +13

      You can also just move down the model in the slicer so it doesn’t print the bottom.

      wait, if you are stacking, would you NEED a bottom?

    • @FilamentFriday
      @FilamentFriday  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, because components would just fall thru to lower level. If you remove a tray , the components wouldn’t come with it.

    • @shanewalters7821
      @shanewalters7821 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I said this in my original reply. I'm talking only about the bottom tray. Not need for a bottom. If I (personally) used this, I would likely not be stacking.
