      Your comments are debatable. Its a matter of location and political climate. And whether investors have faith in the project. I live in the UK and the area I live in London had an large industrial estate which was acquired by an American property development company 20 years ago with the intention to turn it into a mini city. Hotels, shopping mall, schools, student hostels, offices, roads, housing etc. The project is due to be completed in 10 -15 years time. They are already halfway through to completion.

    I am from Nigeria, and I can tell you that I am very proud of how my country is evolving because we were always considered as a less developed country compared to all of the others. But also Africa compared to all of the other continents. We are finally making some progress. It is just so unique and the fact that it will maybe become the next financial capital of Africa is amazing ! Considering that it was built on a vast area of land reclaimed from the ocean shows that we can rethink the city and make Africa, most importantly Lagos modern, it was built for success !!!

  • @mogulfixauto8003

    No new development lately on this deserted island. It’s high time to reduce the inflated luxury prices of apartments, prices are not set by mere thinking of what people worth , it’s determined by the demand and supply chain. If you think you will sell the apartments to Chinese investors alone, it will add to the colonial imperialism problem in the present day Nigeria. Commoners are needed to drive the economy, scaring them away with prices is a dummy way to think. Nigeria have been divided with a large margin, extremely rich and extremely poor. The new island should exploit this chance and bridge the gap not to widening the margin. Invest in people and keep halt of these shenanigans

      You’re only doing justice to PR, you have got a great plan on book but are they realistic with the decelerating trend of the economy? If you had use your break evening analysis properly, you will understand that you need more of middle class people integrated there. The economy can only be driven by cash flow not some million of dollars stuck in a place. Exploit the widening margin created by the economic polices across the country, it will place the geographical location on a spotlight of a community who embraces diversity and value differences economically.

    • @DhaiThitzTV1214
      @DhaiThitzTV1214 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the developer of this project heavily rely on foreign investors because we can not expect the middle income people in Nigeria to invest on this project given the price of a single unit by millions of dollar. As of Nov.17, 2022 according to the Federal govt.of Nigeria thru National Bureau of Statistics said 130 million Nigerians are poor ( 63%) of total population. The 30 million plus are considered as middle class. The question is, what does Eko Atlantic have to lure foreign investors to invest on this project? While these facts exist: 1. The price of the land is million dollar 2. The progress is too slow and investors are not stupid to put up their money to things that they can't enjoy during their lifetime 3. The massive corruption in the govt.

    we should show support for this project, but let's not be ignorant. new construction hasn't started within the last six months and not enough Nigerians are investing in this project - there simply isn't enough demand for the inflated luxury pricing. how many of you are actually willing to pay $800k for a 2b apartment in a deserted tower when better options are available across the city? please, let's be realistic. because of elitism and exclusivity, you have driven out your demand. it's time to reduce the cost to invest. lagosians will be more willing to buy property, contractors will have more incentives to build, and this project will move efficiently and actually benefit the people back home.

      So in your mind you think they reclaimed a land in the ocean to build an exclusive high end estate for a commoner like you. This is a real estate for corporate headquarters and the residential apartments are for the upper class . So stop this meaningless complaints. If you can’t afford Manhattan then go to queens or Harlem!!! Jeez!!!!!!

    • @oladeleadaraloye5699
      @oladeleadaraloye5699 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t think you know where the place is located ? Reclaiming Lagos lagoon and expect common man there? There is places in other countries where their citizens can’t afford but foreigners, it’s called business location, I feel your pain but it’s what it is

    • @ObeAroundTheGlobe
      @ObeAroundTheGlobe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@ikemmanuel7859 Classism has obviously backfired in this context. If you had as much as 800k to invest, would you invest it in Eko Atlantic or somewhere with a greater expected return? A 2b for 800k is exorbitant, even in Manhattan. Exactly which corporation you speak of is investing? Even the rich aren't naive enough to spend their money this high-risk project.
      Do you know how Dubai succeeded? They are in the middle of nowhere with no source of economy, but they borrowed money from the UAE to complete the city. They allowed for investment opportunities for smaller households and businesses. Investors then came along because they saw the physical potential, not a computer-generated mock-up. There are simply no incentives to invest in Eko Atlantic because it's a barren stretch of sand. This exclusive hotspot that you talk about doesn't exist because investors are too smart to pour their money into this gaping hole. They need to make this project more accessible to "commoners" because they are our economy. Dubai needed the support of commoners. We need to a realize that a better Nigeria will result from investing in ourselves.

      @@oladeleadaraloye5699 I visited Eko Atlantic four years ago in-person. my grandparents live nearby. I've been following for some time, so I understand it's purpose. I'm not asking for affordable housing, but a project like this requires normalcy to an extent. There aren't enough CEOs to fill the number of apartments they intend to construct. Where are the homes for engineers? lawyers? Visitors? There has to be a variance of pricing in every functioning economy

Things are not going to get better in the next 10 years, so at some point there will be a yard sale.
