Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. JD’s attorneys are smart to not add too many objections. It ultimately allows the defense to badger the witnesses. It shows AH and her representatives for exactly what they are, and what JD is too.

Christi is SO likable, exactly because her testimony is so opposite to Amber's. No theatrics. Steady, careful speech. Intelligence. She comes across as a highly capable woman. When speaking about the death of their mother, we can see her grief is real. Her testimony has all the authenticity that Amber's is lacking.

@@nk47100 i honestly don’t think it’s that. It’s common knowledge that the accuracy of a witness lowers over time and it’s very important to listen to the questions and answer only with what you know.
I think she answered what she knew about her own personal life, and is careful not to jump to conclusions to only what she had witnessed. Slowing down like that is the best thing you can do…. What are they asking and what will answer my question? Are they asking the correct question or are they misinterpreting my answer? She was a great witness… very believable. I think she understood it was “her” testimony. Not depps, and not heards.

Look, the truth is, when you don't know this marriage will end someday, you write or say things for a diplomatic reason. After all, you have to live with that person. Christi did say Amber usually exaggerated things or even made things up. Christi HAD to write understanding statements to keep everyone calm. What would have happened if she reacted the way she felt? Amber would have felt isolated and that definitely wouldn't have helped the whole situation.
However, Amber's lawyer tries to construct things. "You did ask where the kids were because you were concerned, right?" No, because everyone would ask where they were on being told they are away. Quite normal reaction.🤷♂️

As a male victim of domestic violence I approve of Johnny standing up for ALL of us by doing this. My relationship was almost identical to this, a nightmare. I had a “pretty little blonde girlfriend” that broke a beer bottle in my eyes and did numerous violent acts then claimed she was the victim and almost ruined my life. Same story I know who amber is, my ex was amber. Everyone believes a pretty blonde girl.
Whether Johnny wins or not the power is with the people. Boycott ambers movies. Johnny will probably lose because amber is a pretty blonde girl and a master manipulator. But we can still boycott her movies. NEVER watch a movie with her in it, period. WE can enact justice even if the court doesn’t.

For an hour and a half she could tell us chapter and verse about the mid-1960s through 1990s and then when it gets Depp's drug use she could not recollect a single thing about the 2010s? Lots of words about how she organised things for Johnny, Vanessa and children and not one word about how she welcomed Amber into their family. This woman is more than old enough to be Amber's mother never mind sister-in-law.

Boy, this is yet another example of how much Amber's attorneys had to flounder around trying to discredit Johnny's witnesses --- and how unsuccessful they were. Christi is so credible and talks just like Johnny. It is obvious how much she has taken care of him throughout his life. Very intelligent and read through everything Rottenborn asked. Christi's testimony was powerful in its sincerity and complete lack of theatrics.
Watching Christi’s testimony makes me loathe Amber all the more. All she’s done, to not only Johnny, but his family & kids, is beyond disturbing. I would love to say “I hope she gets help” but there’s no help for people like her… she’s despicable.

Judge Andrew Nicol said that the paper’s claims that Depp was abusive toward ex-wife Amber Heard were “substantially true”. Depp won't win this one either because she never mentioned his name in the op-ed. The Sun Newspaper did name him as the Abuser and won the lawsuit that Depp filed.

I think she was honest too. My brother had an abusive ex. The woman would rope me into their fights, for sympathy or added control. She made it my job to placate her. To remind her that he was human and he deserved a chance to be in his unborn child's life. Every Monday she would rope me in. She would exaggerate his behavior and shortcomings to explain away her mistreatment of him. So when she says the context isn't Johnny's behavior, but Amber's reaction to it or exaggeration of it, I absolutely understand what she's talking about.

Having been with a parent when they passed, this was heartbreaking. When she had her tears, I started as well. It's a terrible day when you sit with a parent as they pass. For Heard to have filed for divorce the day after his mother's passing - monstrous, truly monstrous; deliberate cruelty.

After my mom’s stroke, leaving her severely disabled, I was terribly harassed, threatened and stalked by two of her crazy „friends“ for almost a year. They physically attacked me in the rehab, insulted doctors and nurses - they were banned from the house.
I had to ban them from my house (where they showed up) in the presence of police, after they kidnapped her from the nursery home. They banned them, too.
When I called the police I told the dispatcher: „Excuse my honesty, you better find them before I do! I don‘t need to be protected from them - they need to be protected from me!“ All the officers were fully understanding. I still want to cry out of anger and this was almost 4yrs ago.
And additionally the bf of my narcissistic half-sibling (I call her „the toad“) threatened me and did everything to alienate her from me, in the worst time of my life and succeeded.
Watching this trial helps me heal. Btw my mom passed last year as well as my two dogs, sadly. 😥😔💔🙏🏼

For example, she could have said, I wanted to tell him if he's doing any of those things, he should stop because Amber seems to be after you. Her answers are convoluted and not believable. To say I told him to stop using drugs but I didn't think he was using them just sounds implausible and dishonest.

The reason she said "stop drinking, stop coke, stop pills" was to relay that Amber was complaining to her again. I know EXACTLY how that goes, because I have been in her position with my little brother and his now ex. She would make up all these stories, and only parts of them would be true. So I would send him messages telling him to stop doing all of it just to cover the bases.

The fact Johnny took care of his Mother’s medical needs, best care possible and supported her financially IN SPITE of her behavior, the destruction of the family, and his father leaving the family due to behavior, during his Youth speaks volumes of his character in relation to Family.
