Why can't we get Bourbon or Canadian whisky in quantity in Scotland we can't even buy Crown Royal in the supermarket here I love bourbon but all we can get is Wild Turkey Buffalo Trace Rare Eagle Elisa Craig Bulleit Woodford Specal reserve Jack Daniels Makers Mark Knob Creek Jim Beam Old Forrester why can't we get the cool stuff I see on your channel?
The videos are great - but honestly - your editing is what really shines. Quick and to the point. Love it. Also - many (many) thanks for cutting the video into 'chapters'. If you ever do any hunting around KC, reach out. Take care / keep on keepin' on!
I work in a tobacco stores and work atleast one 12 our shift from 9-9 a week. Never once acted like some of those people in liquor stores, sometimes we get an aggressive customer and shoots our moods down for a little. But never been unwelcome or rude to customers like that, I also love the respect you give others. It’s something I admire you for TJ. Keep doing what you’re doing, more of us should be more like you.
Just went into Oscar's and couldn't decide between the Rebel and the Ezra, and I asked the clerk about it. He said, "I'll make the decision easy for you." He let me try both. Great video. Great store. Good golly miss molly that Ezra was delicious.
It absolutely cracks me up how hard it is to find Buffalo trace in other states. It’s stocked 5-7 bottles deep at every single store I’ve ever been in here in Oregon
I don't even drink and now I wanna get into Bourbon. Such fun informative videos. Have you made a video explaining what to look for and how to read bottles?
I don’t normally like bourbon channels but I’m really enjoying your style. I see you passing up the Russell’s, the single barrel store picks are some of my favorites. I’m in Lexington Kentucky.
Been subscribed for awhile but recently I'm binging a bunch of videos and I have to say I really enjoy one of your newer videos where you sample a bottle at the end of your hunt! Really adds to the overall experience of watching your hunt. I know you wait to do a live to test them all but doi🎉a tasting of at least one makes it really interesting! Thanks for the video content! Cheers 🥃🫗
I wish I would have known you were coming to Tupelo. I live right outside of town. North Mississippi has a lot of cool places to hunt, but it is a little more spread out. We get a lot of barrel picks and store picks. I will be going by Tupelo Wine & Spirits next week. I love when a store is willing to open a bottle to give you a taste.
I get Knob 9 for under $35 in my area - Houston. Love the peanut butter flavor. And I’m generally not a Beam fan…. Love the channel man. And do more hunts!
Great episode man! Tupelo is my home town and I typically stay away from La Vino's bc of the markups. Next time you're in the area try Henry's wine and liquor. If I'm not shopping at Oscar's I'm shopping there. Keep the great content coming and stay safe!
I can’t remember from your videos but if you like the higher proof, you should try the KC9 Single Barrel Selects, they are 120 proof. They can be store picks but Beam also picks them as a standard release. In my opinion, it is much better than the standard KC9.
I can say I like the Yellowstones I've tried so far and also I like their mission statement that they donate a certain amount from each bottle sold to the National Parks Service.
@@DeckDogs4Life I'll have to try them. I'm from Florida but travel for work and currently in West Virginia (Huntington). I'm planning to go bourbon hunting in Ashland Kentucky next weekend since I'm so close
@chupacabra I personally like the Smooth Ambler Contradiction Bourbon, the Contradiction Rye, and the Old Scout. The Old Scout Single Barrel is not bad, definitely unique. My friend was more fond of it than I was. He loved it. I haven't had their Old Scout Port Cask Finished or any of their Founders CSS yet. But they've been doing good work with what they've done so far.
I love those hunting videos !! 6:50 KC9 is the first bourbon i tried, that caramel and pecan nose and flavors brings lovely memories from my time in Cherbourg (Normandie France) ❤ I did bring me an even more lovely french wife home.
Hey man! Love your videos. I’m from the Ms gulf coast. Cut above is located in kiln, Ms which is down here on the coast. Another good Ms bourbon is K.Luke. Worth a try for sure!
Lol... That bottle is such a gimmick. Jefferson has terrible distillate. Everything I've tried from them has tasted grainy and young which I don't understand since they've been in the game for so long
I have 3 Ocean's open right now. One of them is fantastic and the other two are garbage. So, it's definitely a marketing gimmick but also some of them are good whiskey.
I will say, the JO you held up was cask strength. In VA, that is an allocated item and we almost never see it. I think it is a bit rare and certainly going to be a different flavor profile.
Honestly, I get the Sazerac version of Early Times BiB at $27 a liter and even if it's not as good as the older version, it's still pretty hard to beat for the price for me.
That Yellowstone barrel strength changes drastically once it opens up with some oxygen. I'd pop it, try a pour (which you'll probably not like), and forget about it for a month.....but it's solid when you go back to it down the road.
That's awsome I live in north west Arkansas! I'm new to whiskey and bourbon and can't wait to see what you find and we're you go! Good luck on the hunt! I know there's alot of high end shops in bentonville!
I’m in the UK and we get screwed over on the prices and selection of Bourbon like you wouldn’t believe- but recently I’ve been seeing more and more examples of ‘tubers in the US literally hunting basic Buffalo Trace! We have this everywhere, in our whisky shops but also in our supermarkets at discount to uk msrp- today I saw it at £19 a bottle (and we don’t add tax at the Register, that’s the price. That’s about $23 all in, and I could have bought 10 bottles today with no problem. In one of the same stores - Eagle Rare 10, reduced from £41 to £35 and then on special offer at £30 - or $36 all in - and again, dozens of bottles on the shelf! And I can buy them online from the same shops for home delivery with my milk and bread! Now, if I could only get a Stagg here now!
You mentioned you're from Opelika, have you had Black Patch bourbon from Madison/Huntsville? It's to my understanding they do 2 years in a big barrel then port it over to smaller barrels for the last year to get more surface area. They say it gives a 5-7 year flavor in 3, and I'm inclined to believe it's quite good. Very heavy on the caramel flavor.
I feel like that is the liquor store density in most cities. We do this in every city we go to and also in our home town of Knoxville at least 4 times a year.
22:13 I’m a descendant of J W Dant and have done a lot of research about him and his whiskey. I have never seen that! If this wasn’t a year after you posted this I’d drive down to get it
Come to CT, there’s some great stores here that cater to bourbonites-Worldwide Wine and Spirits, Green Farms, and Canterbury Liquors to name a few. These stores are great if you want to try some great store picks also. I work at one of them so if you’re ever up here, let me know.
That Takumi was really good when i tried it. tasted it at a whiskey event at the KO booth and they were really hyping it up. Found it under $200 in north orange county, CA near long beach
The black top ETBiB is a gem. The new ones aren’t bad. Solid for beginners. And they go for $23 by me. The Yellowstone picks have been really good to me in the past.
Ragged Branch Double Oaked, BiB, Bourbon is one of my favorites. Matured for 4 years and then double oaked for another year. At $50 in Virginia it is a good value.
Come to Michigan, in Grand Rapids you can get anything and there are many many many many specialty and mega liquor stores, Its crazy to see there’s so much prohibition type state control bs I never would have imagined this ever
I live about 45 minutes from Ragged Branch. I really enjoy their Rye BIB and Double Oaked Wheat. I think their other stuff is also good but not mind blowing.
So ive tried this recently and i actually really like it. Im a huge jack and coke kinda guy, I love Jack Daniels. It was my first whiskey. I also recently fount your channel. Can't wait to see what yiu guys do. 💚
Have you ever thought about trying that “Designer Dram” product? Fancy customish bottle, you select percentages of whiskey (MGP), they blend and send it to you. It’s a little pricey but it’s more of a gift type thing.

Same here in the UK. Distribution is weird!
Same in Indiana
It used to be that way here.. BT and Eagle Rare were as common as Jim Beam...then suddenly, it's nowhere
There are stores in Northern Indiana with 5-10 cases at a time
Sazerac the company switched distributors so hopefully buffalo trace products are much more common everywhere
Thank you for running over prices. Nice getting an idea what's a good and bad buy.
I don't even drink and now I wanna get into Bourbon. Such fun informative videos. Have you made a video explaining what to look for and how to read bottles?
5:25 Brewzle throwing that card like it was HOT

I'm not gonna lie, I don't drink at all but I love this guy! He seems like such a great dude
The Old Elk is good at $130 max. You did the right thing. Keep the hunting vids coming!

Thanks! Trying to get to releasing one a week.
The province I live in regulates alcohol sales and has government stores so everyone of them is the same. I find this adventure really fun.
I about fell over when I saw that Blade and Bow for $60. I really enjoy these videos, keep em coming.
Thank you, will do!
60 is definitely on the pricey side for blade and bow
That's what it runs in my neck of the woods. Definitely not worth it.
$78 + tax here seen in san diego area $45
Absolutely love your channel, your style is what makes this so awesome. I love the bourbon knowledge.

Good recommendation from the first guy. That is in fact a great way to get into aged spirits. Your typical decent 25 is anywhere from $70-100
Great work, love the Yellowstone and Old Soul picks. Have the same reaction

I will say, the JO you held up was cask strength. In VA, that is an allocated item and we almost never see it. I think it is a bit rare and certainly going to be a different flavor profile.

Always amazing to see these prices all over the country. Knob Creek 9 is $31 here in Southwest Florida but we have zero Buffalo Trace products.
