I hope my Daughter stays at it .. she's 3 and helps me on the ground as well as trying to climb up my tail rope ..so I'm gonna hope she will one day learn to climb, even if just for fun. Great video.
I'm SO proud to have people like you and your family in this country. Brings a tear to my eye and made me laugh! Love the sarcastic (but very real) realities of our industry, morality, and technical training being passed on to the next generation. Good on the Hunicke team for being a pillar in the community!
Well there's a new sheriff in town. I can see her now telling Damian and Adam and Jeff what to do. She did a great job. Y'all take care and have a blessed day and I'll see you on your next vidja.
This was great! She looked salty up there, you’ve been doing a good job training her. I just got my 25th anniversary The Fundamentals Of General Tree Work. Stoked to be able to get it now. It was $500 when I first knew about the book. Training and passing down knowledge is so important in all aspects of life. Thanks for what you do.
Up to 3 miles a day post fusion...its 4:20 am east coast time and you have no idea how bad I want to go wake up my daughter and show her this video. Thanks guys.....Darren better up his game: this new climber has STYLEEEEE......
Just finished taking down a storm damaged Maple at a cemetery with my daughter. 2 of the grave sites under the tree that needed to be protected from the tree coming down, were kids that passed on way before their time. Your video touched on the preciousness of the time we spend with our kids and our relationship with them - on so many levels. The quality time we spend with them, what we teach them, how we protect them, what hard earned wisdom we pass on. Truly inspiring how you continually weave the personal into the professional with yout documentaries. Thank you for being in “our” lives this way - through this medium. I wish to express my gratitude in person one day. All the best to you and yours!
Wow! well done dad! and Well done Daughter!!!! Even if she doesnt end up in the family business, she is learning to trust her gear, learning to be self sufficient, and will have a can do attitude.
❤️Caitlin girl, you rock! 👍 We've watched and loved all the August tree work vids and this one is a fine extra special awesome jewel! I would truly enjoy watching more tree working vids of this new climber! Cool skit, awesome acting, incredible seeing your tree work Caitlin! ❤️🙏 - Kim
😂😂😂🙏🏽 I saw the Instagram post last night and was excited for this. 1000% so much better then what I thought this was going to be. Congratulations Kate, you have a special kinda parents and a heck of a wonderful looking life ahead tree woman or not. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I absolutely love you channel. Love every post. But, this was by far the best. So jealous of your daughter going all the way up that tree and taking off the top. So strong!!
Thank for sharing this awesome video! Your daughter did an amazing job! Your a great father. This video is a good reminder that it's not what we provide our children with material/financial wise, but sharing life lessons teaching skills and the importance of hard work where the value truly is in preparing them for life.
Must be so Proud. Finally got both my girls in harnesses and high jumping on trampolines. Think my younger one will be climbing with me before the older one does. Little one still has no fear well except stinging bugs only bc they come hunting her every year at least once ☺️
Man this is hands down one of the greatest videos you’ve ever done. A lot of guys in our Industry are on the rough side, kind of like your made for this poem says. But it’s awesome to see tree work down right and by guys that are coming home to a family like mine at night. Awesome job august
Hi dear Hunickees. That is so great to see this young girl. what a gift for the parents. My daughter is climbing with me over a Year now, I remember these feelings when she layed down her first tree... Now she is scratching my throne, absolutely fearless and skilled. A new age is about to come, let them young horses free.
Loved it!!! Kudos to both parents for encouraging and supporting their daughter to do this! Kudos to the daughter for trying, doing a great job, and having a blast!! I'm obviously from an older generation that this didn't happen in. Plus I'm afraid of heights but I greatly admire and applaud the progress made in the the last xx years! 😀👍👏💕💖
I vote to cut Reg's pay in half and triple your new climbers pay. Great video. She did amazing. Especially when she topped the tree she didn't even flinch. Just turned and looked at the camera like she's done it a 1000 times.
Got hit with a bug and I’m laying low today. This one raised my spirits:). My son is now 25 and a dynamite climber. It’s great when the kids come along. That top out was impressive. She’s going to do well.
You are living the dream my friend! Beautiful family you have.. (Finally being discharged from the hospital today!! Thank you so much for your content and inspiration 🖤🌳)
I really enjoyed this August, that's the good stuff. I'm not going to push but I'm certainly going to share this with my niece and nephew. Of course my brother and I are their hero's. They understand that August and Reg Coats is their uncle's professorships or hero's. I appreciate you and yours taking the time to put this skit together. I know you had much fun with this one.🔥🔥❤😁💪😎
Awesome video!! That little lady is getting it done!! I would love to know where to buy the equipment like she is wearing for my grandson. I’ve checked with WesSpur, Sherrilltree and Bartlett tree equip. So far haven’t found a rig as nice as your daughter has. Not to mention the spikes. Awesome job you guys. Please let me know where I might get the child size equipment. Thanks. May God Bless you all.
Man. This was one of the more heartwarming things I’ve seen in a minute. People get so serious and political and personal and it’s just so great to have something like this for a change.
And this is why I watch your videos!!! Not bragging about yourself or showing off your equipment, no arrogance here - just good quality humble attitudes teaching the next generation! Thanks August!
Wow! That video really made me smile man! My daughter was using a small saw at 8 with me right there giving instructions. Never had her climb but watching this young lady climb was about the coolest thing ever! She knows a portion of what her daddy does at work everyday and that it takes much nerve, skill, and strength. Way to go kid! Nice cuts! That hippie almost let those plastic flowers get smashed lol.
Love it my when my daughter was her age she used to love to climb I put her in a bunch of tress at our lake place about that size and she cut all of them down when we were clearing for the house but when she got 16 and found her first boyfriend that was the end of that....thanks for doing the video it brought back those happy memories...Now shes 22 and married living in LA I really miss taking her out in the field with me.
I dont know how I had been able to miss this video, I dont watch your content all the time, so might be that, but wow, that was some real stuff there, if the kids of today even had half of that skill and courage to climb up a tree like that and saw it down in that age, then the future world would grow by its own force of nature of these kids growing up to be adults
Impressive job! I'd hire her for sure! She even uses the chainbrake, witch is the most important safety feature of the saw! Climb high, drop small, get home safe! Love: One Finnish Arborist.
August this is the greatest thing Ive seen on TH-cam in a long time. It’s funny, cool and just a plain old good time. Did make me cry a bit reminding me how my father taught me, he passed away back in June. Even though it’s sad I look at this as inspiration for myself, I’m recovering from many years of depression and a long list of suicide attempts, this to me is going to be my future. Every day I work towards my goal of someday having kids and passing the rope off to them, carrying on the tradition and keeping the industry alive. Thank you August and family
She’s a little pro! Not only good skills being learned but impeccable safety practices. Great job to mentor and climber both! Thank you. That was great!
AWESOME! 60 years from now she'll be telling them young whipper snappers how she had to climb the tree, uphill both ways, without the fusion powered laser saws and no grav-boots, just rope, good gear, and lots of confidence!
I enjoy seeing a father teaching his beloved children the proper skills and his love for his craft she was amazing you have to be extremely proud of her and your loving wife for making this video! I loved it and you’re a great teacher, your little Angel looked so happy show everyone her acquired skills
This is a true classic. She was getting instructions from a master her dad. She’s a natural the boys on the crew better watch out. From a dad’s point of this is something y’all will talk about from now on. Fantastic video
I watched this a while back, before I knew who RC was and had a father's appreciation of the story and triumph within. It just popped back up in my algorithym and the long hair caught my attention in the still pic. Got me wondering... I had to rewatch and enjoyed it even more as a fan of both you and Reg. I hope he thought well of it too! You both have been great inspirations and help us realize not all the world's gone mad... Thanks for a ray of sun on a rainy day in NY!
I am extremely impressed by her safety procedures. Putting the bar break on, making sure the rope is well away from the saw blade, etc. You have taught her well. Some day it will be "August Hunicke & Daughter on the trucks.
OMG. She rocked that!! Congrats young lady, you did a great job. I saw you get frustrated after getting up there, but hey, frustration is part of the job. August get her her own page. She needs it! She is awesome. I know you were so proud of her. She deserved you taking her boots off. Mad love n RASpect from yah Favorite VA Ground N Pounder
You taught her well! Very conscious of the Saul being in all places, moving her rope out of the way, using the break. Awesome Buddy! My daughter is four years old I want her to start climbing immediately, not necessarily cutting but at least getting used to getting up there! Awesome video
Make sure you pay her the going rate. I worked for my dad for three months each year when I was at university. Total payment was a snap on screwdriver. To be fair 40 years later and I’m still using the screwdriver!!!
You had to have so much fun making this! She did such a good job… you had to be beyond proud as a father! … now the important question… who’s idea was the “who do I look like August Hunicke?” line… yours or hers 🤣
This is the best TH-cam video I have ever seen!
100% agree.
Second!
Yes!
I think she might be a better climber than Jake already :)
Hard to think of a better example of positive role modelling, paying off, in spades... Beautiful work everyone. 👍💪🇦🇺
That must be one of the proudest moments a father could have. Well done, looks like she'll definitely have a future in climbing and cutting.
And taking over the family business.
Only a dad can fathom how sublime this is. Fills you, from head to toe, with joy and pride.
"Dirty face; clean money."
👍
I know, that was Great! "Dirty face, Clean $$$"🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was just brilliant. So well done. Hats off to the next generation of climbers.
I just watched this again, after a year went bye. Still one of the best tree videos ever. Thanks for you and your family August.
Excellent job on the tree. She did better than a lot of these 'Professional' Tree guys .
Well, look who her father is. One of the best.
@@JD-sh8ub THE best
Beautifully made, I was literally smiling like this was my kid climbing. What an inspiration to kids around the world!
Thank you
@@AugustHunicke that's why I shared it on my Facebook page. Brought laughter & tears. 🙂 she's got good teachers.
yep, same here big time!!
I hope my Daughter stays at it .. she's 3 and helps me on the ground as well as trying to climb up my tail rope ..so I'm gonna hope she will one day learn to climb, even if just for fun.

It would be pointless to say that young lady is going to do great things some day. She just did. She’s an example to be sure.
Joe, you rock.
I just finished reading all the comments on this video. 551 so far! So much positive feed back. Thank you! 😃 I’m pretty proud of August and Kaitlin.
You were a great little actress too Heather! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched it!
Bravo young lady. Your doing something most grown men wouldn’t dare try.
There are a million and three thoughts running through my head right now, and all of them are awesome! Praise God for you and your family!
Well there's a new sheriff in town. I can see her now telling Damian and Adam and Jeff what to do. She did a great job. Y'all take care and have a blessed day and I'll see you on your next vidja.

Well, that's one of the most beautiful video on this platform.
That was awesome. If we had more families like yours, there'd be a lot less problems in the world. Coolest dad ever! Well done.

Great job, everyone. You all laboured well on this Labor Day. The Client should be nominated for best supporting actress.
😊
Just stumbled on this gem. Your daughter is so cool, and looks like she has learned some of dad's skills. Fun little vid. Thanks for the smile.
That video was a gift. Warmed my heart. What an impressive young climber! Honoring the Hunicke name...

Love this so much! So happy to see a fledgling follow in father’s footsteps!
I saved this one in "Laughs"because it was so much fun to watch but it's a safe bet it was more fun to make. BRAVO y BRAVA!!
Looks like you're training up a new top 'man'. This is awesome. That electric saw looks to also be a good training tool.
It’s ok for limbs. That top cut was a pain. But I like that is low on power… for her.
This may very well be my absolute favorite video you guys have ever done! Parenting done right!

It doesn’t get any better than that. Proud papa, Great kid and working/playing hard. You are a blessed man!
I absolutely lost my shit when "Reg" said "good job missing the flowers mate" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 OMG that was too funny.
Good rope etiquette, good saw control.
Great teacher, great dad.
Respect to the men who lead by example.
August, you couldn't have made a sweeter video including your family. Thanks
I try 😁

This is fantastic! The way you get a kid to do things like this is to be somebody that they want to be. It speaks to your character, and I love it!

love this! from the Reg C yoga ref to the camera work, and most importantly the superb tree work and polite but firm customer handling!!!

Wow! This was so awesome. Truly heart warming and funny. Still not finished but impressed by her and the Reg stuff is too funny 😂❤️
This is the best! She made it look easy. Very very well done. Such a beautiful moment. Thank you for sharing.
Lucky kid to have a dad like that. She'll do well in life with that kind of confidence.
I am extremely impressed by her safety procedures. Putting the bar break on, making sure the rope is well away from the saw blade, etc. You have taught her well. Some day it will be "August Hunicke & Daughter on the trucks.
Good job young climber, congratulations on your first topping job
Just brilliant mate! You made my day. What an inspiring young lady.
Great Dad who teaches his daughters that they can do anything they but their efforts to. Loved It👍👍
Absolutely brilliant….. I love the kids having a go I hope this gives you some career opportunities

Awesome. The self confidence is inspiring. The small branches she took out by hand - there was no doubt who was winning that battle.
This is awesome! But that saw looks so huge when she’s using it! Do you think you can get her braces made out of quarter pitch chain…
I now have hope in the future arborists. This is "torch passing" at its finest brother.
This is absolutely great! Having a kid and watching them figure out the world and watch your every move there’s nothing else like it!!
How proud are you August ?! Fantastic Bro. Great work young one!
Wait until her teacher hands out the "What did you do on summer vacation " assignment and she runs this video. 💖💗💓💞
yes!!!!!
That was so impressive!! Amazing goal to give your child!! Hats off to the parents!!
Great great stuff!
Surprised your Lil Mary Kate isn’t found somewhere up a tree once in awhile Tim.
I had to watch it twice!
Excellent work young lady. You had a great teacher I know that!
This made my day!!!!!!
You had to have so much fun making this! She did such a good job… you had to be beyond proud as a father! … now the important question… who’s idea was the “who do I look like August Hunicke?” line… yours or hers 🤣
Made my morning, thanks man haha. What a great dad and father you are. Hats off to you.
