Hi @LifeHackster great review on the Eufy C220. Any chance for a review on the dedicated baby monitor Eufy Spaceview E110? We're looking for one right now but I don't see many reviews on it at the moment since it released in March.
its good to see there are hardware kits available for a professional looking install. I had to get creative with two cameras in two different locations. the first was a 10 foot outdoor lamp pole with a inclined extension almost like a hanging chandelier for a e1 outdoor near my backyard fence and the second install is for a duo 2. I used a 90 degree L shaped framing bracket attached to the eave/overhang ceiling above my garage door wall then attached the duo 2 specific metal plate to L bracket so I can use the included plastic adapter and 1/4 20 pivot mount. having the plastic adapter in a horizontal position allows getting the duo 2 camera closer to the eave or ceiling compared to a vertical position without the L bracket. I went with this option because of the limited vertical fov. the downside of this install method is the camera weight is now cantilevered and needs support at the 1/4 20 pivot so my easy fix was to use a wire chain loop one end around the 1/4 20 pivot and secure the other end to the eave. I can now adjust the up/down viewing area without touching the camera or the mount by using the chain shorter chain lifts it up longer chain lowers it down. Its been almost a year since the install and Ive only seen any kind movement occur 1 time so far. It was during the mild earthquake tremor back in early april this year epicenter in nj. I live in ny and I felt it. yep a mild earthquake is what it takes to move a chain suspended duo 2. I'm fortunate I had no injuries or property losses. never has any northeast snowstorm or thunderstorm been able to move the camera until that seismic event. it did not shake the duo 2 like a playground swing but it was enough to cause a motion trigger event with the motion sensitivity at 45 out of 50. some day I will post the short video clip of the tremor event on the reolink captures community page.
@@LifeHackster yep pretty much any camera that has the wire coming out from the back or sides will always be more difficult for a tidy setup. At the very least there will have to be a short length of wire that is visible. Unlike the older turret/bullet design with the cable inside the base.
Good info. I wish that I had seen this before I fitted in "straight-up" orientation a D20 for a Reolink Dual in a difficult location, rather than at the angle it counter-intuitively needs. There is no mention of this in the documentation - it's clearly a design limitation so I guess they didn't want to draw attention to it. I had to hang out of a window to drill the holes, and didn't want to re-do it after discovering the problem. I rotated the box on the three mounting hole positions to find the closest orientation for "straight-up" once the camera is mounted, but the best I could do was have the camera mount at about a 30 degree angle. The Duo arm is not fully flexible in rotation, so you can't correct the problem fully there. Another thing to consider about mounting position for 2+ floor buildings is the detection works best when the camera is pointing more horizontally than vertically - i.e. not looking down too much, so don't put it up too high. Also if you have a built-in IR / spots, it needs to be accessible to clean off the spider's webs every few days.
Reolink should have made a note on the documentation. I made this update video about setting it up with the access hole at 12 o clock. -> th-cam.com/video/-Z3KWnTQkl0/w-d-xo.html
Just discovered your channel, great quality! Could I ask what setup do you recommend for a 6 exterior cameras, 2 interior and frigate/blueiris setup? We're on the budget site of it (POE). Thanks and keep going!
I haven't really checked out frigate and just a little bit on blue IRIS. I kinda stick to a specific brand and whatever they have to offer. Check out Reolink NVR cameras though because they are not that expensive and just use their NVR and hook up a monitor or use their client app in you computer. It is budget friendly and you only have to deal with 1 brand.
I bought used reolink NVR setup that included B800 bullet cameras and D10 junction boxes. However the owner did not include the mounting screws or machine screws to attach the cameras to the junction boxes. I'm trying to find the screw size for both. would you happen to know the screw sizes or generally would screws would work? Thanks love your content!
Would be interesting if the side hole can be closed. My power cable comes from behind. I want to hide the power adapter of the Duo WiFi but I couldn't find any info whether this is possible.
just a word from my own opinion… actually the pvc conduit pipe need not be slanted just to ensure the cameras are positioned in the normal position, if we’re able to drill additional holes ourselves onto the junction box, at the end of the day we can still have a professional job done with no cables outside & the camera fits perfectly onto the junction box lol
@@LifeHackster whichever way you prefer, i will still drill holes regardless of whether the junction box is plastic or metal with my power drill that can easily drill thru’ plastic, metal & concrete hahaha
I have the duo 3 Poe and the b10 box. What screw did you use on the bottom of the bracket to lock in the camera arm? The provided screws that came with the junction box that are short work on the two top side of the metal bracket but too short for the bottom part and the screws that came with the camera are too long.
i got a generic one from amazon $10 and has all the mounting holes for reolink. and from the looks of it everything because it has about 30 holes. It is kinda cramped thats the main caveat, not room for the ethernet cover. But i think that would be the case with reolinks official one too. You would have to go buy an extra large junction box and drill your own holes to do it right imo.
@@Carloscda40 dont think we can post links but the first words of the description are Universal Bullet Security Camera Mount Bracket and the brand is "weilailife" now i also discovered junction box extenders, they add and inch or so to the depth, and that would solve my room issues. not gonna retrofit it, but will use it next time
@@cryengine_x Thanks for your reply. I was wrong about the QSEE, I had to get junction boxes. Been so long ago I forgot. Just went to ordered 4 boxes from A.
maybe for many of the cameras, they should integrate 1/2 to 3/4 inch npt threads on the body of the camera so that electrical contractors only need to run 1/2 or 3/4 steel or PVC pipes with threads to feed a single camera. Similar to regular electrical boxes. no need to use anchors when the camera just screws onto the pipe.
Unfortunately, the trackmix are one of the cameras that are not compatible with it…you might be able to find a screw hole for 2 of the mounting holes but not all 4.
Couldn't you rotate the thinner outer shell with the pre-drilled holes so the conduit is in a less awkward position? I get it won't be perfect, but you've got at least 3 more angles there to play with them.
@@michaelb2577you made me recheck it again, thank you for that. I did check cand dry fitted it initially before installing but I didn’t test all the positions.
Nice video! I'm not paying $26 for a junction box that doesn't even line up flush or has all the other holes showing. If you could review generic ones that would be great. Other vendors have much better looking boxes. In a perfect world you could buy reolink without the pigtail.
my autotracking seems to be stuck, after a while of it working during the day it just stops i have to manually reboot each camera for it to work again. anyone with the same problem?

Until they make a camera that can’t be defeated by flashlight all these cameras are a waste of money and time.
Well, you can always install a camera that is hidden.
Too many requirements and directions to use a simple box. Better off with the genetic Amazon boxes.
I know and it can be confusing too...
