My wife and I both have NLT One-Chronological Bibles, found used at the Dickson Street Bookshop in Fayetteville, AR. I also have handbook, dictionary, and concordance ready for this year's read through. My very worn NIV will still be the Bible I schlepp back and forth to church.
Great video! I am doing the 1 year "Chronological NLT" I am planning to try and set up a group with some of my 2 sons' High school and college friends to join in a group of Audible listening and reading. I'll Continue using the NLT journaling Bible and my old KJV Life Application for deeper learning. I haven't decided on a devotional book yet. Maybe Sproul's "Everybody is Theologian" as I am already working through that or Sproul's "Chosen by God". I also have been reading "We Believe: Creeds, Catechisms, and Confessions" about one day a week to learn and teach my kids and others as so many Churches do not teach Doctrines anymore. I'll keep writing my notecards with verses on them and I am thinking of getting a planner and trying Joe's method of devotions and prayers. Busy 2025 😆
I have read a lot of the different editions of the CSB and the ESV. But I started reading through the Oswald Chambers CSB and I am sticking with that together with my NRSVUe Cambridge.
I’ll be using my Journaling NLT Bible and my KJV Key Word Bible for in depth word study. I’m doing a year long study from Daily Grace Co. called Christ in All of Scripture. It’s a 52 week study.
Its very possible! Earlier this year I parallel read the KJV with the NIV. It was fantastic!!! I say go for it. It truly is a wonderful feeling getting to Revelation🙏
I picked up the Everyday Gospel ESV Bible. It has the full devotional book alongside the ESV text. The devotional reading comes at the end of each days text. I am excited to dive in for 2025. I appreciate your videos and encouragement. My travel bible will be the CSB Coach's Bible (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). The discussion question features are great for conversations and journaling.
@TheMJFelker It's really good Bible/Devotional. I'll be doing a review of that Everyday Gospel Bible soon. The Lord bless you on your reading journey for 2025!
I’m in middle of a 30 day bible read through with a hardback NIV Discovery Bible that I picked up at a yard sale for a dollar. Some of the pages were scribbled on but you can still read the text. I’d never read through the NIV before so I thought why not. Starting the 30 Bible reading plan was an impulsive decision I always wanted to try it and find it quite manageable and enjoyable. I plan on doing it every December. At start of the new year all start up with my old reliable modified Mcheyne Plan using the nasb. I always enjoy your videos and encouragement to be Bible readers.
Hi Joe, my reading is currently the NASB ‘95 Quentel in black pearl calfskin which I got for myself as a birthday present in February. The other that I usually read is the ESV PSQ calfskin or Omega in Horween. Now I’m a huge fan of the LSB so will continue in this which is Shamar goatskin. It’s hard for me to stay in one translation because it depends on which bible I feel like on the day! Also have the ESV bible plan on the iPad which is great and has a bit of everything each day. 🙏📖✝️🇦🇺
I was waiting to hear what you would be using for 2025. Thank you for the video. My bible reading plan is from InTouch Ministries monthly magazine. I saved every issue this year so that I could write the daily reading plan in my 2025 Sterling Ink A5 Common Planner on the monthly pages. My primary bible is my ESV Interleaved Bible, plenty of room for all kinds of my notes/writings. And my travel bible is my Holman NASB personal size large print olive green Bible.
I’ve done several year long or 2 year long plans. This year, I started doing a read through using a combination of Jesus in all of Scripture using the Enduring Word online commentary. My translation of choice is NLT although the commentary uses NKJV. I’m going at my own pace which is taking a long time (due to the commentary breakdown). I honestly think it will take me at least 5 years to get through the entire Bible 😅.
Thanks so much for sharing. I'm reading through CSB Saddle Leather Personal size large print and NKJV Imperial Blue Goatskin Quentel. Blessings to you and your family 🙏🏼
Hey Joe! Great plan you've got there. My plan for next year is as follows: my daily reader and devotional will be the CSB Oswald Chambers Bible, and I'll be using the Handbook for Praying Scripture by Dr Varner with my 5 Year Prayer Journal by Hosanna Revival. I plan to read through the NKJV Interleaved Bible and use it as a note taking Bible for the first 6 months of the year. The second half of the year I plan to read the NLT.
@joesbibles5636 that's my plan. I've been trying to read through the Bible 3 times in a year. This year I read the Lexham English Septuagint, the KJV, and I'm wrapping up the CSB (that's been my whole year read through with my church; we did a chronological plan as a church).
@@joesbibles5636 no, there is some overlap. The NKJV will overlap with the CSB for the first 6 months (I will read every word in both), while the NLT and CSB will overlap in the later 6 months.
Hi Rev. Joe, I'm currently using a large print CSB for my daily study along with a Navigators one-year study plan. I appreciate your videos very much. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
My current plan for 2025: Reading plan: Navigators' Book-at-a-Time Desk read-through Bible: RSV Quentel Carry read-through Bible: NASB20 Prime Reference Daily devotional: A Table In The Wilderness by Watchman Nee
This sounds like a good Bible reading plan. I hope you will be blessed. The art-gilt on that Cambridge looks so good. I'm still hoping to get the Topaz NASB sometime.
Hello, I'm new to your channel.I will be using my. Holloman CSB Journaling bible for my devotional WHISPERS, it is by the same person who authored TPT. For my note taking, I will be using the SOAP method. Finally, I will be using the 2 year plan.I like to go at a slower pace.Thank you.
Hey Pastor Joe. Thanks for sharing. I will be reading the NLT one year Chronological Bible with my mother. I will also be doing a year long devotional by the DailyGrace Co using the NKJV.
I just picked up a New King James Version Schuyler Stridon which will be my everyday carry / everyday reader for 2025... I actually use six different devotionals which are: The Bible Recap (Tara Leigh Cobble) Faith's Checkbook (Charles Spurgeoon) The One Year Christian History The Most Important 365 Bible Passages For You My Upmost For His Highest (Oswald Chambers) The One Year At His Feet I use Leatherpress for my journal, have there new release on the way right now I also just picked up Bless God Studios Occupy Til I Come Devotional and their Prayer Journal, plus I use The James Method scripture mapping as well
I just found your channel. I got a note taking Bible not long ago and I was wondering what exactly I would do with it. I like the thought of using it with a reading plan and taking notes on what I read.
Thanks for sharing 😊. I don't read a different bible each year. So, I'll continue in what I have and like. ESV wide margin reference, ESV Thinline Reference, CSB Thinline. I tried the ESV Everyday Gospel Bible, but it's not line matched and was just too distracting. I think I'll get the devotional book like you have and then use the bibles I have and like 😊.
Wait…so you’re not tackling 3 complete bible read throughs this year? You’re making me reconsider my plan now, lol. Sounds like a solid plan you have! I purchased an inexpensive leather soft Thomas Nelson NKJV W.M. this month for 2025. This will be my first time truly marking in my main bible. If you have any good recommendations for color coding or keys I’m all ears.
I'm not sure about the Bible in a Year plan yet. My wife and I went through the Bible in a year this past year together. We did the Ligonier plan on YouVersion. I will going through a devotion by R.C. Sproul on the book of Romans which will take a year. The version of the Bible will be the ESV and which one, not sure yet. Thanks for your content.
@@joesbibles5636 I'm not sure if you know this, Ligonier has offers where you can donate as much as you can and get a gift. I got the Romans devotion that way. I've gotten other devotions, books, videos that way too.
Is that the new edition of the PSQ with the drop caps? I've been using my Omega recently, and other large print ultra thins in CSB and NLT as well. Those three will probably be my main Bibles for this upcoming year.
@ohmytosh It is the new edition of the PSQ. I LOVE the Omega. That's my favorite forever-Bible! Bless you on your reading journey for the upcoming year, brother.
What is your favorite pen for writing in the bible? Micron 005 or Uni Jetstream.7 for me but Im always happy to try new pens. I grabbed a few different zebra highlighters after seeing how it looks in your bible. I like those but in the milder color (Sherbert Yellow). My 2025 plan is to use the ESV Stridon all by itself and write tons of notes in it and a pocket book sized moleskine for prayers and random thoughts. My bible reading plan is a chronological that our church is doing together and I am on the lookout for a good devotional.
Hi Joe do you have a case or a sleeve that you use for the PSQ or do you throw it directly in your bag? I am looking for a case recommendation. I need not carry the box around.
I can’t speak on Joe, but I have a Cambridge wide margin NASB I wrote in that I don’t let leave my house unless I’m teaching with it. I have a pitt minion NASB rebound in Sokoto goatskin that I bring everywhere and don’t write in at all just a few highlights in it
@@joesbibles5636Great thanks. My edc is the crossway alpha. I’ve been hesitant but may use just a one color system in it like you mentioned in another video to just mark verses that stand out to me.
I love how you're so organized. I am continuing my read through of the NKJV. (First time.) And, of course, some ESV thrown in.
@Yesica1993 Awesome! Some day I will read through the NKJV. I pray you are blessed in your Bible reading.
