Wear a mask and eye protection (obviously) and wash your hands after working with fiberglass (you rub your eyes more intense than you think).
Always tape the project where you are cutting to minimize splintering.

If you want a straight cut go with a Circular saw. You can buy diamond blades for them pretty cheap.
