    I've got a 1954 Row Crop 66 Diesel, nothing else sounds like it.

    We often racked our hay using a 1940s retired army Jeep. Cheap on fuel, and road better than a tractor. Your 66 is a good size for the job.

    I’m going to bet you couldn’t buy a new tractor that would be any more cost effective than the 66 Diesel! Light weight big wheels and easy to drive!!!!

    Anyone up your way just flip the windrow? I can’t say I’ve seen a Tedder used around here… guessing it’s that our weather is warmer and drier.

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris

      I used to flip until a couple years ago. Most ted a short time after mowing, like the next morning after mowing.

      It's factory. So is the drawbar adapter that is on it.

    I think Herman was a little upset with you picking the 66. He had his back turned to you. It would not surprise me if he did not slip over and add another 6 to the 66. That would make it the devil's tractor.
    We sure wish we could smell that hay. We have to mow grass wet to get a smell even close.
    Great Video.

      😂😂😂. The multi flora rose was smelling sweet to. It was a beautiful day to be out there. I could probably re-condition the hay by just driving Herman over it.

      I sell my hay other than the stuff for my brother's zoo. I bought some very strong magnets after the plow incident, but it still makes me keep an eye on it. Thanks for watching, Steve!

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris

      Ah, the horsey folks are where the money is, if you can stand them. I used to have some of those hunter/jumper folks buy hay from me. Something was always wrong so I just quit selling them hay. The livestock folks are just happy to have it. Thanks Chris.

      @@farmerbill6855 you ain't kidding. Beef guys just care about price , dairy guys care about quality, horse people will chew it up and regurgitate it to their horse like a momma bird if they think that's what it takes.

    You have the exact same tedder as I have. And the 66 is exactly the right size for that job. This year, I plan to ted with my 66. I've seen people run tedders and small rakes with 100+ ho tractors, and my thought is that "You don't need a sledge hammer to drive a roofing nail". I believe in using the right sized tractor for the job.

    • @jamieebersole6755
      @jamieebersole6755 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When we had a 2 star Tedder we almost always used a 60. One time we had heavy rye straw we had to throw apart because it got rained on and then it took the 66

    Hey Chris too bad they didn't have smell-o-vision I bet that hey smell pretty good 👍👍 when I was a kid I remember dad would check the hey by grab a handful and then twist the hey I'm assuming he's to seeing if there would be any moisture when twisted it between his two hands is that what you think he was doing? thanks Michael

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you twist it, it gets tight like when it is packed into a bale, giving a good example of how dry it will really be. The stems can seem dryer than they are when loose, so that works well to see if it's ready to bale.
