Our group of Moldavian students traveled to Tartu by tourist bus from Tallinn during winter vacations in February 1974. I will never forget an old guide/professor Leesment so friendly, showing us proudly the famous University of Tartu. And the lunch somewhere - a Swedish table - was delicious ! Now I like also Saku beer ! Unforgettable life lasting memories/trip to Estonia ! Warm Greetings from Kishinău/Moldavia!
I was in Tartu in June 2023. Absolutely loved the city! I could picture myself living there. Although I loved Tallinn (obviously very beautiful), I think Tartu had a bigger draw for me - it was a total surprise. I loved the way in which old and new have been integrated in a culturally-sensitive way. Tallinn to me is two cities, one old and one new. Not Tartu. Do extend the highway from Tallinn to Tartu though, as it is SLOW going currently
Tartu, Tartarus. So similar in every sense. A hellish place: boring, simple, dark, unfriendly, cold. “We prefer meeting face to face” said no Estonian ever. Don’t fall for this shenanigans. My first suicidal thoughts were developed knowing I was living here. Thankfully, I left.
I spent my first Erasmus semester here.
An amazibg country, oeople, and town. I love it

I love this city!
Indeed. Tartu is a lovely city. Bit too cold? Nope. It's just -25°C. 😆. One of the best cities I have ever lived in.
man, i wish I was in estonia
Ah, what a place. I visited in 2016 and was captivated enough to write a book about it. :D
Impressive promo video.
I am sold on visiting this city, this year.
It's an amazing town and I hope to live there one day
I'd love to live in Tartu man. If I ever live in estonia you know I've made it
bro it's not so beautiful as it may seem, we have soviet designed blocks too
@_babyy_ Mate I realise that. I have been to Estonia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite that I am aware of the problems in Estonia and Eastern europe
okay, but i know people don't enjoy the look of eastern architecture and culture, but if you do then that's good! @@generalpausanias7089
