Brother had an Altima for years, good motor, but all things plastic broke on it, all four door handles, windshield wiper controller on the steering column. Then a trouble code showed up, didn’t line up with what it was supposed to be. Two garages gave up on it. Ultimately junked it at 98,000. Was a great car until that trouble code showed and kept coming back. The AC was rock solid ice cold for 12 years. Smooth rider and decent mileage. Step daughter on her third Nissan, had two Sentras to over 200K, now in a Rogue.
This guy made me more interested in cars than every one of my car obsessed buddies haha he just says stuff based off real data and opinion. Yes he has a love for Toyotas, but only cause they tend to be well made, but isn’t dedicated to say they are all perfect. Got to love the honest reviews.
I have two Altimas 2016 and 2017, both SVs with 124k+ miles on them. The 2017 had A/C problems which an extended warranty took care of, and both are up to date on services. Other than that, both run fine, with no CVT transmission problems as they are serviced per the Owner's Manual.
When saving gas with a Nissan CVT. Those savings will sadly go to a CVT replacement sooner. Kinda defeats the purpose so its very important to take care of them religiously

I've owned 2 Nissan Frontier pickups, the first has over 200,000 miles and the one I have now, 130,000 miles. I know their cars aren't the best but I would get a Nissan before a Toyota truck.
On the negative side, when manufacturers start making cars again, they will produce cheap, poor quality, overpriced junk. On the positive side, they already know how to do that.
hydrofoils are extremely efficient but only when they are going fast enough to get full lift and be out of the water. At 8 miles an hour it has full contact with the water and it would be lucky to get 20 miles. You have to go the minimum speed to lift out of the water onto the foils. The less surface area that has contact with the water the less drag.
Hydrofoil boats are inefficient when too slow to generate lift from their foils, specifically because then they have drag from both full and the foils. They're efficient at high speed, where boat's hull is out of the water and it's flying through on the water on the hydrofoils only. So no, the efficient speed for the hydrofoil boat is going to be somewhere above the speed where hydrofoils generate sufficient lift to lift the hull completely out of the water by definition. It's not going to be a slow vessel.
All I need is dependable small car with MT and good gas mileage. I don't need infotainment, CVT or even radio or AC. Larger heater would be great because winters are damn cold in Ontario.
@@karoltakisobie6638 up for sale is my 07 Camry 5 speed manual 230k miles 1previous owner. Android tablet installed. Idles and shifts like a dream. 10 grand! No low balling. I take that back even for 10k American. I can't.They just don't make them like they used to. Keep your 10k 😂

You mean INCORRECT.. coming from someone that has a NISSAN PLANT in their county.. it sure is still running just FINE!! My brother does maintenance on the machines that helps build those things.
My 2015 Sentra was one of my favorite cars. Sold it with 100k miles and ran strong. I had a hitch added and would tow a motorcycle trailer, no problems. Drove it from Boston to CA for $180 in gas. Great car - too much FUD.
Newsflash Scotty..all businesses are in the business of...you guessed it, ...making money. And believe it or not, that's a good thing, or else there'd be no businesses.
Nissan killed the Altima back in 2006-2007 when they got rid of the regular automatic and manual and replaced them with that CVT. I still see 2002-2006 Altimas on the road, but not too many 2007-2011 years.
WTF? “Now Nissan’s not saying that, oh yes, we’re definitely getting rid of the Versa and Altima. But they’re not saying that they are gonna get rid of them.” So, in both sentences Scotty is saying the same thing! So, what the hell is Nissan saying about the Versa and Altima?? That’s what I would like to know. From what Scotty said here, I don’t know that Nissan said anything about them! WTF?
i wouldn't sell it because of cvt drive it normal and keep changing the cvt fluid every 30 k nissan charges like 300 and change bucks for a complete fluid exchange not a drain and fill we have a 17 maxima drives fine listen i get the bad rap of cvt but trust me u beat the hell out a regular trans it's going to break also. especially in these so expensive modern cars.
I can't believe how true you are Scotty these car manufacturers their vehicles are only worth half the amount of money they're asking for on the lot and that is all of them wait till they drop the price in half if you buy it for the price they're asking you're throwing your money away and good for you😅
I still don't understand why car companies aren't lobbying the government more. They forced them into making battery cars none wants. It's not like big companions to take such huge hits without retaliation. In the UK every non EV car sold over quota, the company pays a £1500 fine.
I got my son a brand new Nissan about a year ago. It was under $30,000. Used cars with 60,000+ were not much cheaper. The pandemic caused used cars to skyrocket in price to the point of being totally ridiculous. People don’t take care of their cars, so I would rather pay the extra for a new one. But we may take your suggestions to 86 it before 100,000 mikes. 😂
Take good care of it, and it will run perfectly well, WAY past 100,000 miles. Smart move buying new. These days buying any used car is a huge 'roll of the dice', we never know for sure how it was maintained, if it was in deep water, if it was wrecked, you just can't tell. I just bought a new car, only 24 miles on the clock. Plan on driving it from now on.
Never thought I’d see a cyber truck where I’m from but about a week ago I was heading home and I saw one going down the other side of the highway. I couldn’t stop laughing how bad it looked and was amazed to find one in my area! 😂😂
If you’re going to buy a Nissan buy it in a manual. I have a Sentra with the cvt transmission, had to get it replaced thankfully the dealerships I bought it from covered the costs. Dad got a brand new Nissan Versa 6 speed. Back in 2007 Runs like cherry. GET A MANUAL!
Rented a Nissan Altima SR recently. 30k miles on it and it was falling apart. Terrible all around and incredibly uncomfortable seats. They have a lot to work on to fix their vehicles.
Nissan doesn’t make money selling cheap cars and trucks. It makes its money selling parts for their vehicles. Just think of their wonderful CVT transmissions. What a cash cow that is?
I just bought aused fiberglass 10' dory with two sets of oar locks, putting (2) 12 volt deep cycle batteries, 44 thrust trolling motor, and 20 watt solar panel. The skiff is sweet; teak everywhere.
Nissan makes cars at different price points, and I am very thankful that affordable cars are still being made… even successful people have to start low and improve their wants over time… your first car cant cost over $50000
So did Nissan stop making cars? With the lack of choices of reliable well made sedans , an electric car could be an options especially for people that have solar panels on there house. What options are there for drivers not interested in the large displacement American made SUVs or pickup trucks ? Thats why I bough a used Toyota standard 4 cylinder ($3000).
Reliability is what all these manufacturers need to work on all the magic mechanics and electronics has caused so many problems for two miles of gas mileage not worth the trade off.
I have a 2013 Altima with the 2.5. Change the CVT fluid every 50,000…. Now has 225,000 miles. I know I know, it’s an abnormality but I baby it, now I just want to see if I get 500,000 and see if Nissan will buy me a Toyota.
Electric vehicle batteries are getting better and better. Won’t be long and you will be able to fill up about as fast as getting gas. Also, most people charge at home so no need to go to chargers anyway. The tech is great, at least in Teslas. They take off fast. People are so against change. I like Teslas and Rivian. I don’t own one yet, but I intend to soon. I don’t see anything wrong with having one electric car for around town and one gas car for longer trips. Teslas still do well on long trips though. You can get a Tesla Model Y for around the same price as a RAV4 or CRV. You won’t have to pay for gas and maintenance is minimal.
. . . . . . . .....ohhh and by the way, you don't necessarily make more money(profit) on more expensive cars (products) - sometimes you make more profit on inexpensive items !!
You can make money by selling alot for a little or selling a little for alot. The auto industry has chosen the latter . . . and the Nissan Versa joins the ranks of the discontinued Honda Fit and the Toyota Yaris. It seems to me that those type of vehicles might do well in an inflationary economy.
My 2024 Silverado 2500 LTZ has the Google in it, it's nowhere near as glitchy is the Android auto crap. And you don't have to pay a subscription to use the maps if you have a hotspot on your phone turn your hotspot on your truck connects to your phone and now you can use all the internet features of your truck without having to pay for a subscription. I do hot shot trucking I live in my truck and I can tell you 100% for sure that the Google in the truck is not glitchy.
I just looked up Nissan car production. WHY??? Are you saying they are shutting down car production??? That's not true. They are retiring certain models. They will continue to car, SUV, truck production.
The last time I checked they made the Altima in Philadelphia,Ms.They can always close that plant and make them overseas or not make them at all if no one is buying them!😠🤔
No mater what model you have you should never leave things in sight. So shame on the Tesla for making a truck so valuable that it does not even have the alarm go off. Plus you have to wonder about the IQ of someone that buys a Cybertruck.
@@aussie2uGA Well in this case it did not work. Frankly Tesla is smoke and mirrors. They are "Self Driving" that are killing people and the batteries catch fire and burn uncontrollably for a long time. Thanks but no thanks, Tesla is not ready for prime time.
I agree 100% with Scotty and being able to do what you want with what you own. I would NEVER buy a Tesla (for many reasons), but a private person, or private company will NEVER tell me what I can and can't do with what I OWN!!! Just the fact they would tell me I can't sell my $100,000 vehicle? That I paid for? NO! I won't do business with a company like that. EVER!
Honey, DECHERD TN NISSAN is still GOING STRONG!! My parents were the 1st ones to sell our property years ago for that PLANT to come into our neighborhood!! Personally, the VERSA was the worst made vehicle they made. As for the Altima, most of the parts for it is actually made in Tn. From Manchester - Decherd - Syrmna. I’d never DRIVE one because I’ve done QA on some of those PARTS!!
Ford disrupted the auto industry and much more by making cheaper cars with the advent of the moving assembly line, which made vehicles practical and affordable for more and more people… Ford and others would do well to remember those roots

hydrofoils are extremely efficient but only when they are going fast enough to get full lift and be out of the water. At 8 miles an hour it has full contact with the water and it would be lucky to get 20 miles. You have to go the minimum speed to lift out of the water onto the foils. The less surface area that has contact with the water the less drag.
My brother works for Nissan, he’s still working every day.
Down in Decherd? lol or which one!! Syrmna my brother is at Yates making sure the machines still keep running so yall keep it going!!
@@surfbird627 my brother is at the Smyrna location. Getting regular hours the last I talked to him.
My GPS still works fine on my 2011 Lexus GX...no subscription required! Haha we should've let GM fail.
i have an 09 versa with 250,000 miles and a 08 frontier with 127,000 and no issues with either just basic maintenance items
2016 Maxima 0 issues. 115K miles. Love this car. Feels heavy and the V6 is an excellent engine. Decent on gas and has plenty of power.

We have a 2008 Honda Jazz, 1.4 ivtec petrol engine (original, no re-bores) manual transmission, 145.000 miles on the clock, drives like a dream, not a puff of smoke out of the exhaust, 50 miles to the gallon..hi from the UK
Nissan, bro, Nissan.
Scotty you 100% correct.
You mean INCORRECT.. coming from someone that has a NISSAN PLANT in their county.. it sure is still running just FINE!! My brother does maintenance on the machines that helps build those things.
My 2011 manual versa is a juggernaut, 235k km and still going strong despite being my second manual and doing oil change every 10k km.
Everything i read is the cybertruck is selling very well 🤷♂️
0:46 the cutest owl !!! 👍👍👍
I do I think he's honest and knows what he's talking about.😊
Scotty's hand gestures remind me of Howie Mandels early in his career.
I saw one of those electric trash cans on wheels, cybertruck, and almost went off the road laughing. It was at Pizza Hut of all places!
You are in denial.
True. Never be the first, unless you wanna flush money. I flushed money a couple times; not on the scale of a new car though.
I’m looking at a 1974 F100. Good price and bullet proof. Stood the test of time. Where’s your 90k car gonna be 50 years from now?
That's a nice truck to restore.
Made of kevlar?
Good luck finding one without limitless rust or bondo
He's great and miraculous smart and honestly tell the truth, I understands about mechanic.
The CVT problem early on give the the bad rep and now the damage is done
Scotty is the best!!!!
Nissan killed the Altima back in 2006-2007 when they got rid of the regular automatic and manual and replaced them with that CVT. I still see 2002-2006 Altimas on the road, but not too many 2007-2011 years.
2003 Pathfinder 155K miles..still running like a champ.
WTF?
“Now Nissan’s not saying that, oh yes, we’re definitely getting rid of the Versa and Altima. But they’re not saying that they are gonna get rid of them.”
So, in both sentences Scotty is saying the same thing!
So, what the hell is Nissan saying about the Versa and Altima?? That’s what I would like to know. From what Scotty said here, I don’t know that Nissan said anything about them!
WTF?
They’re not their
Wow really? Someone must have corrected you about this once. 😂

@@td409 It does. But TH-cam is the virtual world. 😋
I got a Nissan and have no problems now with it but my car has a CVT engine. I'm looking to upgrade but these cars to darn expensive.
The transmission will fail around 100,000 miles according to Scotty, dump it before that.
Keep it. Change the transmission fluid every 30-40k miles. You should be fine unless you have an early model CVT
@@BabyBugBug Hi, I have a 2013 only drive it on the weekends. Thanks :)
i wouldn't sell it because of cvt drive it normal and keep changing the cvt fluid every 30 k nissan charges like 300 and change bucks for a complete fluid exchange not a drain and fill we have a 17 maxima drives fine listen i get the bad rap of cvt but trust me u beat the hell out a regular trans it's going to break also. especially in these so expensive modern cars.
CVT is transmission not engine
Scotty your cool as hell man cause all this EV stuff is so stupid 😂😂😂😂
You should have taught your son to work on cars when he was young. Such knowledge is as important to living as basic arithmetic or how to make toast.
Nissan makes cars at different price points, and I am very thankful that affordable cars are still being made… even successful people have to start low and improve their wants over time… your first car cant cost over $50000
I thought he was going to say Nissan is buying Rolls Royce and converting them to steam engines. RIP Nissan and Scotty!
The best economy for the boat is probably at minimum hydro foil speed. What was it - 20mph.
😳 Being stuck on a boat with a "Pole Star" is my biggest nightmare.
The big 3 (or 2.5?) don't like making cheap cars because they have too many legacy costs attached to each vehicle made. The unions screwed them over.
Nissan vehicles are not that bad! I have a 2004 Nissan frontier xe v6 with 117,000 miles that I drive daily! I am more than happy with my truck!
I do not know if car makers listen to you, but, if they do, pickup truck trucks, 1 bench seat for 3 people MAX, cars, 4 door, 4 seats... I sleep soon.
. . . . . . . .....ohhh and by the way, you don't necessarily make more money(profit) on more expensive cars (products) - sometimes you make more profit on inexpensive items !!
You can make money by selling alot for a little or selling a little for alot. The auto industry has chosen the latter . . . and the Nissan Versa joins the ranks of the discontinued Honda Fit and the Toyota Yaris. It seems to me that those type of vehicles might do well in an inflationary economy.
I remember the late 80s early 90s Datsun mini trucks were awesome before Nissan bought them
My 2024 Silverado 2500 LTZ has the Google in it, it's nowhere near as glitchy is the Android auto crap.
The last time I checked they made the Altima in Philadelphia,Ms.They can always close that plant and make them overseas or not make them at all if no one is buying them!😠🤔
Altima is their best selling sedan. I’m sure it’ll be around.
Frontier's are the best midsize truck right now
I love my Nissan Titan pro 4x..keep building the Titan...the big 3 is crap..trucks
Hey man 2025 is the last of the titan.
2012 sv Titian with almost 140k and she’s perfect still even the frame
When as long as they get rid of those $5000 rubber band C. V. T transmissions.
They won't be missed.
I really wish I could buy something with a stick shift that isn't a pickup.
FAQ electric cars!
Nissan haven't announced the end and they're not firing all workers
I would buy a Scotty Cyber Celica.

Nissan announced that they may close the Tennessee plant and move it to Japan if they cannot get parts for cheaper
Scotty a hydrofoil boat will most likely be more efficient on a plane..
EVER!
I would buy a Tesla if i had the coin and a gasser for a second car
No alternator, no electric car that’s the way that works

Honey, DECHERD TN NISSAN is still GOING STRONG!! My parents were the 1st ones to sell our property years ago for that PLANT to come into our neighborhood!! Personally, the VERSA was the worst made vehicle they made. As for the Altima, most of the parts for it is actually made in Tn. From Manchester - Decherd - Syrmna. I’d never DRIVE one because I’ve done QA on some of those PARTS!!
Every time you talk about Tesla, I buy more stock 😂😂😂😂let see.
Ford disrupted the auto industry and much more by making cheaper cars with the advent of the moving assembly line, which made vehicles practical and affordable for more and more people… Ford and others would do well to remember those roots
