    great review. nice touch on the smoothing. I finally got 4 of the 60 C, and the only complaints I've had is i wish they had voltage reader/battery level when using batteries. Nanlite has said they are not able to do it in menu or the app. and also wish they had the vlock plate incorporated into the stirup.

    The 60w segment is getting interesting.

    I'm surprised they didn't include a vlock mount in the upgrades and the most important thing that could be added to this light is somewhere to attach a safety chain.

      A v-mount on the stirrup would have made my day.

    As an owner of the original 60B, I found it almost unusable because of the fan noise. It really soured me on Nanlite - BUT - I love, love, love the Forza 150B which is practically silent. I'm going to give this new one a go - I like using them on a boom pole with a lantern for tracking shots of my subject.

    Awesome, I was waiting for this video as soon as the lights got revealed 😅. The quieter dans are enough of an upgrade for me to be sold on them.
    I love Nanlite lights but the fans have been an issue more than once. I’m so glad they’re being sorted with this huge wave of gen 2 products.

    Will you be reviewing the updated Forza 300/500 II and bi-colour units just released?
    I'm slightly annoyed that I just purchased my first Forza 500 and they just release an updated version now. I guess I'm just late to the party!
    Also, the fans in my Forza 500 are much louder than I was expecting. I've seen your video where you mention that their later model with two fans in the power supply is quieter and that is definitely the one I have (thankfully) but it still seems rather loud. Any input here?

      You could just return it for a refund citing the loud fan as an issue

      @johnbrowningdp ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cfl4286 It's been slightly too long since purchase to return it but just long enough to be annoyed that I didn't wait for Nanlite's updated version.
      I don't think it has an actual issue with it's fans. Perhaps I was just expecting it to be quieter than it is.

    What is the best use for these low power lights?

    • @gaffergear
      @gaffergear  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use these with the projector mounts for picking out background elements, or as back edge lights when I need to control spill light sound the camera lens

    Hi Andrew
    First of all thanks so much for all the detailed and interesting insights into your craft. So much appreciated.
    I've just been looking over some of your past stuff and was particularly taken by the one you did 3 or so years ago of the Skin Care Commercial. So interesting!
    Don't suppose there is a chance of doing a little insight into the use of gels is there? Playing with colour temperatures, off-setting skin tones, the creative use of coloured gels etc. I particularly like the tone and hue of light in the background of the skin care commercial - it looked very rich and oppulant! What colour temperature was that? I appreciate it was three years ago, so......! But when I tried this recently, my effort just looked very washed out and drained of colour - even when i warmed it up! Maybe ther wrong camera setting perhaps!
    It seems so difficult to get any real knowledge out there about this kind of stuff...so thought it might be something you would consider doing a vid about. However, i really appreciate that you may have other priorities, etc, but i just thought i'd ask.
    So either way...thanks alot for the reliable reviews. I've bought tonnes of stuff based on your reliable knowledge.....all of which have proven to be fantastic purchases.
    Cheers

    How often are folks using this sort of light in an on-screen color adjust scenario? I.e. are we testing/valuing functions simply because possible?

    You got these in fast! Nice review, thanks, as always, for all of the hard work you put into these. I've been hoping/waiting for a review on the Prolycht 675, I'd love to hear your thoughts, is that in the works at all?

    I'm not interested in powering it with npf batteries, does this unit come with a vmounting option?

      @gaffergear  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Sir-Kay I use d-tap cables and a v-mount clamp to the stands. Because I use large capacity batteries most times the battery doubles as a shot bag.

      @@gaffergear In other words, how many volts does the Fo rza 60ii take? I'd like to know what exact dtap to dc power cord to use. Is it 14 or 12v?

      @@Sir-Kay I had it made up by Technical Art Solutions in Melbourne as I couldn't find anything online.. The light can run across the entire voltage range of a 14.8v battery so no electronics are required for regulation.
