I think Randall Standridge is one of the most creative composers of our time. He tackles many different feelings in every single piece he writes, especially the ones in his UnBroken Project. I conducted his piece Choose Joy on my channel, and I enjoyed it a ton. He's a genius. Fantastic job to this band for premiering such a powerful piece! :)
For a middle school band, you sounded great. In 2:09 it sounded way different then how we did it, since we played it at a higher tempo, which in my conductor’s mind, “gave it a sense of desperation”

Love this song we played it during iur winter concert this past year, and I was given the beginning solo to play on my bassoon it was awesome :3
We did this piece at our spring concert last year as part of the premier as well.
very nice sounding, I played this at our concert but the beginning phrase was so much slower to add the emotion
