  • Coogs' House! The Houston Cougars set a bomb off last week by firing former Athletic Director Chris Pezman. But was the move a surprise? Does it matter?
Either way, Dr. Renu Khator and the university have to make a decision: Who comes next? A familiar name like Jeremiah Dickey? A west-coaster from the former Pac 12?
All broken down by host Parker Ainsworth!

    Go COOGS!!
It's pretty clear they will be hiring an AD based on the ability to market and raise funds, moreso than hiring good coaches. The administration seems to have a clear idea what they want, and I expect they will bring in the right person.

It seems the University of Houston is taking this A4 opportunity seriously. Which is not only good for the Big 12 and UofH. But it's really great for the city of Houston. It's really important that Houston becomes what it should be for a lot of reasons.

Prefer cold sandwiches'. I am clueless on who should be the next AD, but it is a HUGE role to fill and now that we're in the Big 12, demands for BIG $$ are coming fast and hard. Fingers crossed that it is someone that can fill the needs.

Always something going on in Coog land. Maybe when/if they get the right AD hire because it’s been long past annoying regarding the progress of the athletic department overall.
If I’m deathly hungry the sandwiches usually don’t get warmed up. If I want to be thorough then I get them heated.

I am personally still not happy with this move. While I understand the need and importance of NIL/Fundraising to a D1 athletic department I believe that should be its own job and not the role of the Athletic Director. Time will tell but I fear this move will backfire.

I thought that was the role that Alvin Franklin was facilitating?

lol, I love how corruption and greed is so strong that the public has no choice but to just say…
“That’s just the way it is and there’s nothing you can do about it.” We all know where society really stands. lol

When schools have to pay college players to play ball college athletes are professional athletes! There won’t be such a thing as an amateur athlete anymore and college football is simply a professional league just like the NFL but with a smaller payroll, for now anyway!
