    UConn (Hurley/Geno) draws lots of eyeballs with 17 nattys and counting. Plus FB is improving and was competitive in old BE when it had power conf revenue and even capped off FB with a NY6 Bowl/Fiesta and BE CHAMP just over a decade ago right before the conference collapsed. There’s no reason to think FB won’t improve with power conference $ again. But the real play is basketball and decoupling to extract brand and money.

    Don't forget in 2015 we were on a backup QB and Roberts got ejected for a hit that he had no way to stop. UCONN’s football recruiting would vastly improve if they were in the Big 12. Like Parker said, they are heavily investing in their football program. We’ll see if this investment pays off. Also, if an ACC team moved to the Big 12 with UCONN, I believe it would be Louisville.

I was 11 when I heard a relative call it a pie and it was mind blowing, because technically it has all the make up of a pie. You got a crust, you got a filling you have a topping. Tomatoes are fruits its closer to an apple pie than anything else. Deep dish? oh thats like a cheesecake. The new AD hire is awesome. We are making all the right moves forward. Are you sure a rookie should get the job? This Houston job is a bigger deal than it's ever been. It's not just about Cougar athletics. This is about the growing population of Houston. The student population. The states plan to keep college students in the state. The conference future of the Big 12. The school is 1 of 4 more universities in the state trying to become AAU. This is a hire that will affect the city for decades. Idk if this is a job for a rookie.

    • @grandwonder5858
      @grandwonder5858 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If they truly want to keep Texas kids in the state colleges then why are they refusing to divide the Permanent University Fund (PUF) up instead of give it all to two schools and two schools only (UT and A&M). The payouts from the PUF is nearly $3.2 billion a year, that’s a lot of money that other public schools in the state could use to better themselves, but yet only UT and A&M get it every year! Even without the PUF these two schools are already getting the vast majority of the state’s funding so why on Earth would the state feel the need to give them even more money? These two schools are so overloaded with cash that they often spend their money on doing stupid, senseless things - such as use their money to open up new campuses near UH so that they could compete with UH for what little bit of money UH gets from the state; offering UH’s professors, staff members, and coaches more money to leave UH and to go to their school instead; and conspiring with other schools to keep UH out of their athletic conferences! Yeah, the decision of the state’s politicians to keep UH down so that it doesn’t have the money to offer more courses to its students or to hire the best professors and staff members, but instead give even more money to the two fattest cows that are already receiving most of the state’s money for higher education sure proves they truly want the state’s college kids to go to a college that is located within the state! Yeah right! Whatever!

    • @lorenzohaynes3886
      @lorenzohaynes3886 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @grandwonder5858 I get what you're saying. But you're talking about two different issues. One being true doesn't mean the other isn't. In order for things like the PUF fund to go to schools like UH. UH needs alumni in the state capital, making decisions like those schools do. It's really no way around that. But the state still recognizes the need for a state like Texas to have a higher academic profile, and the coming college student shortage. That's why they're giving 4 universities 50 million per year for research. And this is the state of Texas. As long as Texas is a state UH and the other schools can count on getting that money. And it's only going to grow. UH since a unique position. DFW may grow like Houston. But UH is the main university in Houston with the access level it has. Texas and A&M may live off Houston students. But UH is in the middle of a city expected to have more than 13 million residents by 2060. And their the only school that does really have to share that. Not with any major school in the city. Rice is Rice. But it's still a private exclusive school. UH can have upwards of 55k students and be AAU. It only makes the city and state profile better. University of Houston is a rocketship.
