We want to thank each of you for following along on our Dam journey and for the comments that you are sharing. Since we are on the road with very little cell service we want be answering all the comments, but be assured that we read each one and they are greatly appreciated. We will try to answer any questions you have when we return from this trip.
No no,no no no...I would not be staying. I’m freaked seeing that and it’s in a video! I was a little shocked that it didn’t move or coil....nope, not me...this chicken would left 😮.
Thanks for your dam episodes; beautiful state forests everywhere. Not boring! About 99% of the time we park for a quick getaway rather than worrying about backing out in an emergency.
Thank you for sharing. Did you see how huge that rattle snake is ?? That is scary snake. Scenery was beautiful driving the winding road, just enjoy that that part . Another great video. Be kind be safe .
Laughed about going to the wrong place, stuff happens, seeing the snake would of been a deal breaker for me, scared to death of snakes and afraid for little Maggie. Safe travels.
We totally enjoy your boring videos! We pray for the opportunity to relive them on our own one day! Taking care of a 92 year old wheel chair bound dementia mother in law is a wonderful calling but we have to put on hold our adventures and following yours certainly gives us an out! 🤙
Great video. I am only afraid of 4 kinds of snake. Big snake, little snake ,live snake ,dead snake. Be safe out there. On another note I love your rocking chairs, what brand are they?
Nice campsite, I love that area. “Sometimes you’ve got to keep your eyes open .“ Yeah, like all the time unless it’s winter or you’re sleeping. Thanks for the video.
OMGoodness!!! That snake!!! I might be moving! So glad it didn’t see Maggie! Those curvy roads are a mess. Not boring at all! My kind of evening. Owen, I’m liking the clean shaven look. Lynn, you ARE the woman: Staying in spite of the snake. You guys are just amazing! I’m really enjoying the dam trip and can’t wait to hear your Fontana story! Have a great day in God’s country (the NC mountains). Much love, Jane from SC❤️
I grew up going to lake Fontana and staying at Fontana village. I have some really fond memories of that area, and water skiing on the lake. Last fall Becky and I rode our motorcycle there for a day trip. She had never been, but had heard stories about our family trips. The history of that dam is very interesting. You guys make me wish I was already retired, but I still have a few more years.
Glad you saw the snake before Maggie did! I have one fear in life & it’s snakes! Maggie has water radar. She finds water wherever she goes. Not a boring clip but where’s the dam? Thought this was a dam tour. 😆
Thanks, for the adventure. Yikes...don't like snakes! Glad to hear you have a emergency plan on hospital and vet locations. No cellphone coverage means no data and mapping. A backup would be a Garmin GPS (big screen for old eyes! or Garmin RV). No cell data needed. Also, there's Amateur Radio. A couple years ago while in Cades Cove I had no cell service but able to chat with someone on my ham radio. Be Safe and Stay Healthy! Happy Trails!
Not boring! This is exactly what we want to be doing in just a few short months when we retire. We're lifelong campers but love seeing how it's done when you don't have to be back to work on Monday 😁. Two questions: what brand is your screened shelter, and where does Lynn shop for her tunic tops? She always looks so good!
Thank you Shirley for say I always look nice, I don’t really shop at any one place and most of my clothes are several years old. The room is a Quick Set Venture screen room by Clam. We love it... it’s super easy to setup and keeps the bugs out. However it does get hot in the summer.
I agree with Lynn, where’s the damn dam! Hahahahaha I was only worried about rattle snakes in the desert of Arizona, never thought about them being that far north. We only have one to worry about one and it’s the Massasauga rattler in Southern Ontario. That was a good sized snake too. Cheers!!!
Yikes!!! Glad you saw the snake in advance! What is the name of the campground? Would also like to see a video of y’all putting up and taking down the clamshell. Keep up the the good travels!
What was the name of the campground you stayed at Fontana Dam? Smash burgers looked yummy. How do you keep your griddle so smooth? When I scrap off food particles I damage seasoned surface? Thanks
Loving the dam tour. Today wasn't boring. It was a true picture of life on the road in an RV. That snake was a doosy. Yikes! I was raised in Texas so I get a bit freaked over snakes because my Mom made me scared to death of them. I've a son in NC so I know there's snakes, I've seen them. Why do you think Maggie was restless all night? Hope she's okay.
We use to keep the tent in the Thule on top of the van but now we keep it in the trailer. We can take everything except the kayaks without taking the trailer. We have a bike rack for the van but we wanted to be able to keep them covered. I hope this helps.

No matter what you guys do, it’s always relaxing and entertaining for me.

Loved it! We live a pretty stressful life, so we like “boring” ! 😜😳🤪
in my younger days, I use to mountain bike just before the Fontana Dam, I lived in East Tn I never see a snake while biking, beautiful place to visit
Thanks for sharing.

Dang big old rattler. Can't wait to see Fontana Dam.
Nothing boring about that. Enjoy!

I had no idea there that were rattle snakes down there!!!! Eeeeks!
We didn’t either. It does make you walk with your head on a swivel.
Good morning!🌞
Have fun and take care and take it easy and enjoy it
Looks like a great evening to me! Does Maggie ever ask why she doesn’t get that 3rd burger? Thanks for taking us along. Be safe and Happy tails!
¿Dondé esta el dique? Mañana? Very cool chilling with you guys but that was a big Rattler! 😳
Yikes snake😮......
You guys stay safe and travel on.
Hey buddy, just remember snakes are having babies this time of year, so, really watch your step.
Nope rope. Danger noodle 😂. 15 dollars a night, any facilities? Water or dump station? I think Maggie wants a cheese burger too. Great video 👍🏼
Could have had rattlesnake burgers thanks for the video👍
Thanks! I like Owen's new shaven look. You girls always look great. God Bless!
Yikes!!! Glad you saw the snake in advance! What is the name of the campground? Would also like to see a video of y’all putting up and taking down the clamshell. Keep up the the good travels!
Y'all do scare me when you're walking through thick trails of tall grass, I'm deathly afraid of snakes.
You could park in ready to go.
Good you spied the snake before Maggie did! I have been making smash burgers on my 22" Blackstone thanks to your inspiration!
What was the name of the campground you stayed at Fontana Dam?
Smash burgers looked yummy. How do you keep your griddle so smooth? When I scrap off food particles I damage seasoned surface? Thanks
Cant hear u, mic not loud enough at start, and snake,,then ok at camp...love ur video.
Hopefully we have solved that problem. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Hey, if I can't camp in my dam van, may as well as tag along wit y'all...Thanks!
Glad you could tag along. Hope you can camp in your van soon.

+Barbara Weitz she was hot all day. She's having a hard time Ruth humidity and heat this summer for sure.
Now I’m hungry for a cheeseburger and it is only 9:30 AM.
Where do u keep that tent? How much of the stuff that u bring would u not be able to without your trailer?
We use to keep the tent in the Thule on top of the van but now we keep it in the trailer. We can take everything except the kayaks without taking the trailer. We have a bike rack for the van but we wanted to be able to keep them covered. I hope this helps.
“The Tail Of the Dragon “ ????
Getting lost and rattlesnakes? Hardly boring. lol
It’s exciting for us but might be boring for others. Thanks for watching.
