Awesome List. All my generation's boys (Born in the late 1950s to 1960s) were in love with Audrey Hepburn. How could you not be? Generous in the heart, and beauty and grace on top of all that. She was and will be forever my favorite actress. My all-time favorite movie of hers is 'How to Steal a Million" with Peter O'Toole.
Great to see "The Nun's Story" place so high, as it should IMO- Audrey is incredibly powerful dramatically, while simultaneously maintaining a quiet reserve apt for the character. However, I probably would still go with your #1 pick for that slot, as there's never been a cinematic princess with the grace, beauty and emotional depth of Audrey.
Good top ten, for me Audrey was and will be the biggest star in the history of Hollywood. Her charisma and beauty will never be matched, a true icon. She's one of those people that you look at and inspire you to be a better person.
Audrey has always been one of my favorite actresses. Glad to see Roman Holiday on the #1 spot. It’s not only my favorite Audrey film but also my all-time favorite film.
Audrey should be in the dictionary as the definition for "sublime" and "ethereal". Wonderful actress and human being! Thank you for your love letter to her in this review. Couple of trivia items: 1. William Holden and Audrey were in love. He actually proposed to her. But Audrey wanted children of her own, and when she found out William had had a vasectomy, she reluctantly turned him down. Broke Bill's heart.... 2. The producers of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" wanted to dub Audrey's voice for the iconic song "Moon River" which she plays on the fire escape. But when composer Henry Mancini learned of this (he thought Audrey's rendition the best he'd ever heard), he threatened to pull the rights for the song out of the movie unless Audrey sang it. The rest is history.
In Wait Until Dark Alan Arkin as the sadistic bad guy was SO great but no academy nomination. As Arkin himself said, "They don't give you Oscars for tormenting Audrey Hepburn.'
Excellent compilation of reviews! The narrator is funny and sincere, as well as an insightful, reverent fan of Audrey Hepburn. After watching this video, I know so much more about her and cannot wait to watch many more of her films, including many to rewatch.
15:30 'The Childen's Hour' production still had to deal with Censorship demands. The oppressive Hayes Code, though weakening in command by then, was not 'sunset' until the later 1960s.
Audrey was an angel. Unique and lovable, talented & charming. I'm loving these top 10 videos, i don't always agree with you ( yep, glaring at you for the low Sabrina rate lol), but that makes even more fun, i love to hear different opinions. Oh, and i think she was delightful in My Fair Lady. Her Marian was also great.
LOL, Thank You, Celinha! Oh I understand that completely (Sabrina is just too easy for me and that's a whole other conversation when I do a video on Billy Wilder...but God she makes it sooo charming.) And exactly! I love seeing differing opinions too, it's what makes the world go round :)
I agree with CFLG that Roman Holiday is her best (her greatest range), but never has Audrey looked more luminous than in her dancing scene with William Holden....
Aww I love your videos😊 you’re so adorable and have such good taste! I’m even making lists of the films you talk about that I haven’t seen, and what I got from this is that I need to see Wait Until Dark…wow!! I really love her as Eliza, and Children’s Hour…ooof so hard to get through for me (the ptsd of it all) but so daring. And yay, justice for How to Steal a Million!!😊😊
TWO FOR THE ROAD is #1.... w/ Audrey Hepburn & Albert Finney. It's a bittersweet dramady on a 10-year marriage, that jumps back-and-forth in time. If you've never seen it, see it. If you've seen it, see it again. It's more than worth the journey. Frederic Raphael penned the brilliant script, beautifully directed by Stanley Donen.
I’m so glad you talked about how altruistic Audrey was. She is and always will be my favorite actress. When I was a kid, WOR tv in New York would play a movie all week. One week when I was home from school-maybe vacation, maybe sick, I can’t remember-that movie was Love in the Afternoon. My mother was getting a little frustrated by the end of that week, but I adored the movie and Audrey. The idea of a very young woman being able to hoodwink a dirty old playboy business man with tales of sexual escapades was too delightful for my adolescent mind. The fact that Gary Cooper looked old enough to be her grandpa didn’t phase me at the time. Now I think ick
Sorry to contradict you, but when thinking of Audrey Hepburn, the first film I think of is Roman Holiday and definitely not Breakfast at Tiffany’s, even if she plays magnificently, the character is superficial and greedy : calling rats every rich man who turns her away… and Peppard lacks personality, the male character I like in this movie is Mickey Rooney ! My other favourite films are How to Steal a Million, My Fair Lady and Love In the Afternoon. Excuse my poor English, I am French 🇫🇷
@@Skorpio1121 Thank you so much, I really try to improve my English through un subtitled movies and songs… You can’t imagine how much you comfort me because I’m an elder woman and I left school so long ago, thought I had lost a lot 🙏.
Great video. I enjoyed your reviews, thanks!

She was a stunner! Absolutely bloody gorgeous!!!!!❤❤❤

Thank you for watching, Donnie! I fall in love with "Roman Holiday," every time I see it, instantly because of her. It's so timeless.
This film is like a 'first love' - it is when all the world fell in love with Audrey Hepburn.
I LOOOOVE "Two for the Road"

When we look at Audrey Hepburn's serious and invisível gave, we feel fear. Monarchs are not made, they simple are.

Thank you so very much for watching and your amazing support :) Oh Audrey Hepburn was truly One of the Best!

Totally agree with your list. Roman Holiday is also my favorite! You don’t sing half bad yourself and could put on a British or Cockney accent too.
You're Too Kind, Thank You! It's Practically Every Day, "I Could've Danced All Night," Comes Out!
Her and Chaplain are at the top of my list
What about "Love in the Afternoon" ?

Great, but please...it's not 'Edinburg' but 'Edin-burra'
Here's Frederic Raphael describing how TWO FOR THE ROAD got made.

Hope Jennifer doesn't come up some time later, crying about being objectified 😢
