Thanks for the run down. I started with a Redmi Note 7, 4 years ago. It has been really great. I particularly like the photo capability (fantastic pictures), the jack plug (which was the only way to play music in my old car), and the gorilla glass back, which has such a nice feel. Even now battery life is good, but weaker than before, plus updates no longer supported - so is it time for a replacement? I am inclined to go for the Note 12 5G, as I don't need the phone for gaming, BUT I do like the idea of the SD-card slot. This means I can just slot in the SD-card from my Note 7, with all my music on.

I can understand it for larger phones, but the 14 Pro weighs 206g, my Pixel 7 is 197g and I find it a tad too heavy to be honest. I'm happy with the overall size and dimensions but I can definitely feel the weight when I'm holding it and when it's in my pocket and I wish it was a tad lighter. I've gotten used to it somewhat but whenever I pick up my old phone I just find it so much easier to handle.
happened to me when I switched my old iphone 8 for a brand new iphone 13 pro, the change was significant and my wrist had to adapt for a period of time but now I feel weird if I grab a lighter phone 😂

After using a Note 7 for 4 years, I switched to a Pixel 7 this year and I so miss those cool MIUI features. I have to buy a Chromecast to cast my phone onto my smart projector while on my Redmi Note 7 I would just go to wireless display and boom! Xiaomi is amazing.

I got Redmi Note 12 Pro yesterday. I had Samsung A54 before. The same camera sensor BUT surprisingly, Redmi takes WAAAY MUCH BETTER PHOTOS.
