I have been racking my brain trying to find a way to make more storage. I came across this video and, now it all works for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was at the point of just putting everything outside in the truck.
I was just sitting in my Aliner yesterday and thinking about how to have more storage space. I have the Expedition model with the toilet and shower option, so I lose a lot of cabinet and drawer space. You have just solved my problem. I have not worried about the wall reinforcement, but that is an added benefit. Thank you.
Seriously great idea! Thanks for the video. I have a tension pole arriving today from Amazon for my Chalet a-frame camper along with some end brackets. I was having trouble finding a good place to put the brackets and I don't like to put holes in my walls either. It never dawned on me to extend the pole to the metal part of the roof rather than the sidewall and is a much better solution. That, and now I have a perfect solution for some shelves too.
This is a really good solution to storage in the Aliner. I really like the huge bin they used to have in front (Bring IT back please Aliner🤣🤣). How many pounds does this hold?
I probably have about 10 lbs. of stuff on each shelf with the heavier stuff on the ends. Yeah, Aliner has not done anyone a favor by taking away the front storage. :(
The shelves are 4 feet long. I’m not sure of the distance between the walls as I just adjust the poles to fit the shelves. The poles are 7-8 feet and are not spring loaded. They expand and you twist them to lock them in place. I got them at Home Depot, but think you can find them anywhere.
I like this setup Simple and cheap. You said you had a problem with those shelves bowing. Have you looked into a piece of plywood to keep the shelves flat. Or, how about adding another pole and hooks over the middle and support the middle of the shelf with chains? Just a suggestion

I appreciate your saying that as I felt the same way when I bought my Ranger. Safe travels to you!

I'm so glad this works for you! I've actually never needed to add any support
I've been needing more storage for my Ranger 12 and this is the perfect solution. Thanks!
You’re quite welcome! These shelves on my Ranger are still going strong now in year 4.
What a smart idea! We needed a place to stow jackets, towels, pillows, toiletries container-lightweight items after setting up.
That’s exactly what this is good for!

I try to keep things very simple and lightweight. Those shelves fit the bill.
What a great idea, I will try this in my Chalet.
It’s cheap, lightweight, and it works. It also gives you places to hang things.
Great idea thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
You could just spend a few minutes with a roll of electrical tape to add little stoppers where you want them to stay!
Love this utterly.
That’s a great idea! Thanks!!
Great idea! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
cool idea bob!!
You’re welcome!
Great idea wow.. no holes agree..thanks
Glad it was helpful! I still have made no new holes.
Awesome design. What size is the shelf? I'd guess it was maybe 3 ft long x 16 inches deep? Am i close?
These are the 4 foot shelf. No cutting was required.
Awesome, thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!!

What is the distance between sides or what size tension rod did you buy? What length of shelves? This is awesome.

That was my exact mindset…

Well, you know the old saying about great minds thinking alike!
My small toy hauler didn’t really have a place to put clothing. I’m using a cargo bar
Good idea!!
Would you please share a picture showing how you have organized everything on the shelf? Thanks.
I’ll see what I can do. YT won’t let me posts photos, but I’ve got a video somewhere of the inside. .
