Very cool video and demonstration of the internals. I’ve built a few guns over the years and everything you have in yours is spot on especially the extra weight for recoil. I’ve talked with a few other builders and I’ve heard the I can’t compete with a koah finish so that’s why they use oil.
Lots of trial and error! In the reef models it’s more of a generalized area we calculated by testing dozens of units in that model. Now Bluewater models have vbs (variable ballast) lead pockets in front and back to fine tune
When I step on the boat with my Fat Back in hand I feel a little “badass”! I’m just an average spear-fisherman but my Koah elevates my ability! Of course I love it when someone ask, “What all have you killed with that thing?” That’s when I break out my phone! Got a whole album full of fish with a 5/16”hole in the head right behind the eye! That enclosed track is fast and dadgum accurate! Now if I could just get John to make a lion fish gun with a trigger my wife wouldn’t have to use those cheap crappy pole spears!
Well done video on a meaningful topic, interesting and very informative video!
Great overview of your products! Thank you!

Nice work!!!! Love my KOAH guns . Have 4 of them for open blue to the reef all perform as designed .
And you keep them busy!
Loving your work John! Looking forward to seeing the whole range in person when I get to FL from the UK.
Thanks man! Looking forward to it
Absolutely love my Koahs. Always tell people if you want American made quality go Koah.
Thanks Diego! We appreciate the support!
So cool! How do you know how much ballast to use? And where to place it in the stock. Trial and error?
