Who ever design this astrotrain is a genius. To be able to transform from train to space shuttle with no trace previous form, and then transform to robot mode. Just like the cartoon version. What a talent
I remember the first Gen bots had like a hundred little things to turn and twist to transform them. Huge complicated process, and I loved it. Later ones were like: Lay it down, it’s a car. Stand it up, it’s a robot 😑
I was going to say the same exact thing. The level of engineering that went into this toy is absolutely amazing. Within the last decade I’ve seen some really incredible Transformer toys that have been made to look, function, and transform the exact way from the cartoons, movies, and comics. These aren’t your kiddy toys. These are fully realized works of art.
It's just insane... So much genius in this models... He was on drugs or something 😑... He was one of those guys who never pays attention in class but always get straight A's
One of the most G1 accurate renditions of Astrotrain yet. Transformation looks smooth, and nothing in accuracy/detail is sacrificed between all three modes. Definitely the G1 Astro train long time fans have been waiting for/deserve. Also a lot of bang for your buck with the weapons storage car, and additional target master.
transformation wasn't smooth you could tell some of the movements had to be forced a bit one of two out comes can come of that either they loosen up some with repeated transformations or they break if not both
@@vineousvondrake2456 the parts that looked "forced" only seemed that way because of the way they were holding the figure and transforming it to keep a good camera angle. Nothing some better leverage wouldn't solve.
Name: Astrotrain. Faction: Decepticon. Function: Military transport. Alt modes: train, space shuttle, and robot. Subgroup: Triple changers. Motto:" In confusion, there is opportunity."
Unique ability: Alter it's size when convenient. Can enlarge itself to fit Decepticon in it, but when transform into a Train or Robot, it's only 18 so feet tall.
Weakness: Kleptomania - easily distracted by valuable (or shiny) objects According to the Transformers RPG - I dont remember seeing this personality trait in the series. An episode where he's stalking Sunstreaker would've been fun, though.
In the 80s when the original toys were on the shelf, they would cost upwards of 35 to 50 dollars. At least for me, that might as well had been 500 at the time.
Wow! The level of design & creativity is off the charts. To transform into 3 things with each of them looking authentic is super impressive. Nice job. That little one reminds me of a Go-Bot which was a smaller/simpler version of a transformer from the early-mid 80’s…if your old enough to remember those. I’m 47 now
In a some ways Super Go-Bots toys swept the floor with Transformers. Not in every way of course, but there were definitely some that stood out… the basic series GoBots weren’t all that different in effort or quality from the TF Mini-spies though. I will say that Puzzler was a better built combiner than G1 Devastator, but Dev. had a lot more personality… if you could get him to stand, lol However, Transformers soon stepped up with the designs, while having fewer breakage issues (my buddy had 3 Leader-1 Super GoBots break on him in 6 months) And of course Transformers the commercial- I mean, Transformers the cartoon was infinitely better than whatever cheap crap the GoBots cartoon was putting out
If I had known about this character when I was a kid, i would have absolutely lost my mind. Trains and spaceships were like my favorite things so seeing them in both in one as a transformer would have been so cool. But now as an adult I'm at least glad to have watched this because good lord this looks incredible.
I have one masterpiece Transformer and have never even bothered trying to transform it. This Astrotrain looks amazing, and yet equally insane to change form!
Never saw him with a Targetmaster before! The upgrade kit is fabulous + this is one of Fantoys's most impressive figures. I love O.G. Astrotrain! Would love to see them tackle Octane 👍
I remember visiting a co-worker back around the mid to late 80's, and his son had an Astrotrain triple changer. From locomotive mode I got to robot mode, but I couldn't figure out how to get it into the space shuttle to save my life! I was in my mid to late 20's at the time and the kid was about 5 or 6. Went through all three modes like nothing, lol! Ingenious toys!
I first came across this video 2 years ago and I was just astonished by how effortlessly this figure conceals its other forms. After watching this video again recently I'm not surprised at all as it's made by Fans Toys. This is the best triple changer I have seen so far.
That is so awesome. I love how you can barely see any of its other mode parts when in train or space shuttle mode. and I absolutely loved how the gun transformed into another robot.
Centuries in the future, an artefact of the past is discovered, a brilliant piece, technical and precise, scholars cannot decipher the secrets of this complex puzzle.
The thought that went into the design and engineering to make Transformers (and yeah, there were some good designs in the Go-Bots toy line too) is rather impressive. Then you have the Triple Changers, Quadruple Changers, and the Six Changers. Plus the Headmasters, Targetmasters, and all the other neat stuff they came up with.
When you put all of your stats in awesomeness, no sacrifice in any mode. No kibble or giant backpack. Makes me want to take out a mortgage on my home n pick him up 😅
Whoa!! Even the gun transforms into a deception!! Amazing Transformers toy. This Astrotrain is way better than the original toy which came out back in the 1980's 😲👍
When I was a kid I got a neat expensive Optimus, not nearly as complicated as this awesome insanity but I couldn't for the life of me get it to transform and the first adult I get to try for me breaks it trying bend a way it wasn't supposed to 😐, all these years later and now I want one of these bad lil mfkrs
I disagree. In the 80's, I remember them being simple to transform. I bought a newer one in the early 2000's, and THAT'S when you need an engineering degree.
The 80’s one I almost never needed the instructions. That Astro train, you would have gone through all three modes before this guy got the first transformation completed.
Dude I grew up in the 90's and could almost always transform them without the instructions first go. Now that I'm older, 1 read of the instructions and I never have to read them again. I took mine out after a year or so the other day and I transformed them all into each mode. Over 20 someodd figures.
This toy is awesome! Easily the best Astrotrain I have seen and they even turned him into a Target Master of sorts (I know he was not one originally) and the rifle is cool AF looking.
I have always liked triple changer. That is a beautiful piece. I have always seen transformers as a piece of art and puzzle. I like the original, because they were metal also, not just plastic and they were easier to change. If it takes to long to change a transformers then it take 5he fun out of it, especially when ur a child. I collect them now, as pieces of art work. Been collecting for 37 years.
“Jettison some weight or we’ll never make it to Cybertron.” It was Astrotrain’s words that lead to Starscream dumping Megatron into Space for dead. Never forget.
I remember seeing this toy as a child while visiting a friend of a wealthier family. It was (and IS!) so awesome! Thank you for demonstrating it's transformations.
The fact that this Astrotrain has a tender is work of art. Sure it isn’t very show accurate but I am pissed of more when there is a Tender engines without a tender.
Wow, this is probably the most labor intensive transformation of a transformer I have ever seen. It is beautiful, an amazing feet of engineering. Very cool, great video
As a kid I just wanted Megatron and Optimus, I got Ratchet, but there was no chance of my Family getting one of these, I would have loved it if I had one through, that is really cool
OMG. There are so many commenters who think this is a toy from the 80s. This is a new design of the likeness of G1 Astrotrain; this is not an actual G1 toy design from the 80s. Nothing from the 80s holds a candle to this.
That's nice toy review about astrotrain. Can't imagine how he transform from train into shuttle mode in real life...very impressive engineering design on the toy...
What is more impressive to me is that it can be done without breaking it all those little peices that twist, turn, slide & flip seam like they would easily break but apparently it’s pretty sturdy!
the engineering that went into this thing is bonkers. I'd imagine though it'd be in one of 3 forms then left alone, you couldn't "play" with this often before the amount of moving parts started to wear out.
A Transformer turning into a locomotive is a pretty cool idea, but idk about steam locomotives, diesel makes more sense for this. Electric-powered locomotives would probably be worse because of the pantographs and the electrified rails.
Finally a masterpiece version of the real O.G. version of Astrotrain , I had the orignial which included die cast metal parts and of course his iconic Ionic Displacer Rifle , the rifle was almost as tall as the action figure!! Lol Salute Fam!!
The biggest challenge is the cockpit area where the majority of bulk is at the side folded flaps. Not perfect but the designer made the best of it. Another solution is to move the cockpit more outward both sides and fill the center cavity by folding out parts that can be folded inside the cockpit (plenty of room).
My favorite Deception!! I didn't know they made him a Target Master too!! Someone mentioned the Kleptomania, must have been American writers trying to balance the Role Play aspect because he was one of Megatron's most reliable soldiers, behind only Laser Beak and Sound Wave.
Who ever design this astrotrain is a genius. To be able to transform from train to space shuttle with no trace previous form, and then transform to robot mode. Just like the cartoon version. What a talent
makes me made how smart they are
No doubt !!
Black magic
I remember the first Gen bots had like a hundred little things to turn and twist to transform them. Huge complicated process, and I loved it. Later ones were like: Lay it down, it’s a car. Stand it up, it’s a robot 😑
The woke kids today are too dumb to figure out this toy!
Let's take a moment to appreciate the engineering detail gone into these transformers 😳
I was going to say the same exact thing. The level of engineering that went into this toy is absolutely amazing. These aren’t your kiddy toys. These are fully realized works of art.
The whole time i was saying this is too complicated for me, have to wonder if my 10 year old self could do it
It's just insane... So much genius in this models... He was on drugs or something 😑...
He was one of those guys who never pays attention in class but always get straight A's
Let's all appreciate your mamma and daddy for having intercourse and making such a brilliant person.
@M Kaiser Bro I never attempt to transform Optimus back into a truck it was too complicated. My second Optimus was but my first was easy to transform
That is simultaneously one of the most impressive feats of engineering I have ever seen and one of the greatest examples of overengineering.

why does this exist

According to the Transformers RPG - I dont remember seeing this personality trait in the series. An episode where he's stalking Sunstreaker would've been fun, though.
okay
@@sarawilliams6671 why not
The engineering that went into a toy was spectacular. Makes sense why they cost so much back in the day
This version didnt exists back in the day.
So this is less expensive than the g1 toys back then or?
In the 80s when the original toys were on the shelf, they would cost upwards of 35 to 50 dollars. At least for me, that might as well had been 500 at the time.
This is still one of the most impressive figures out there. I would trade my fanstoys springer for this astrotrain any day.

Actually Go-Bot's came out first, but Transformers quickly overtook them.

That’s impressive. It actually transforms as close to “TV accurate” as any Transformers toy I’ve seen. (P.S. Astrotrain was one of my favorites.)
Yeah, but can all the Decepticons take a ride inside him????
But still pretty good!
@@pureserenity524 - In our imaginations, they can. 😉
It would be an out-of-this-world experience to have witnessed the design and creative process from composition to finished product.
Had that decepticon as a figure when I was a kid, loved that he could transform to 3 things. One of my favorite figures
Even the gun transforms into mini transformer, amazing.
I love this Deceptacon, because it even transforms into a space shuttle
I have one masterpiece Transformer and have never even bothered trying to transform it. This Astrotrain looks amazing, and yet equally insane to change form!

Awesome. Only problem is it takes much longer to transform these than making the transforming sound as your doing it.

This is incredible. This is more like a puzzle than a toy. It’s like solving a rubix cube; not everyone can do it.
I have watched alot of these. You have no how insanely jealous i am of you who can afford the masterpiece transformers. This astrotrain is beautiful
That is so awesome. I love how you can barely see any of its other mode parts when in train or space shuttle mode. and I absolutely loved how the gun transformed into another robot.
This one is pretty impressive!!! Look at that engineering! And the Transformations!

You make the transformation look so easy, yet I know from experience that sometimes they feel like they are gonna break in your hands.
The Crazy thing is when they transform in the cartoons and films it super quick like woow more than meets the eyes cool video 😎
The detail is insane. I enjoy watching tha whole transformation video.
I like how his display stand transforms from a train track into a launch pad
I think is the most impressive decepticon toy of all.
"Masterpiece" might be an understatement.
It seems like so multiple.
This is for the true funs of Astrotrain.

So cool. I was such a big transformer fan. The toys were genius. Nothing holds a candle to them. I still have the tank, plane, robot deceptacon.
This toy does justice to Astrotrain. One of my favourite Decepticons.
One of the greatest macguffen characters ever. And this model is fantastic. Equally great

Интересная модель! Как и многие модели студии FansToys. Спасибо за ролик!
The Contructicons, too and the formation into Devastator, is rather impressive. Toys ahead of their time
I think this showed up on the wrong vid...

This are such a awesomme toys , this looks like a lot of steps but if you do this a lot you are doing them out of your head
Best looking transformation between all 3. Has very little to any details between the two vehicle modes
I had the original Astrotrain and it was my favorite Transformer after Jetfire.
I had the original electric train that transformed but would also run on an electric track. That's for the nostalgia trip!
Obras maestras.
Ingenio puro.
Hasta se ve posible la creación de uno completamente real y funcional.
Saludos!
The designers of Transformers and Go-Bots were geniuses
What an honorable opponent, though. Waiting the entire time for the transformation to complete. 😌
I may hate myself for this one, but is the rifle weapon a " rail" gun?
In robot mode it's shows both shuttle and train on him, that's why his name astrotrain...such a brilliant design
I know it's a lot of effort, but this toys deserve a stop motion transformation
The biggest challenge is the cockpit area where the majority of bulk is at the side folded flaps. Not perfect but the designer made the best of it. Another solution is to move the cockpit more outward both sides and fill the center cavity by folding out parts that can be folded inside the cockpit (plenty of room).
Brilliant idea of producing Astrotrain.
The best cartoon name ever..
And maybe top 3 transformer..
Aww! He's got a little buddy!
I wasn't expecting that Astrotrain will get a coal tender and a Targetmaster
I love when the mini transformers become weapons too
amazing. Got pumped when i saw the rocket ship forming
My favorite Deception!! I didn't know they made him a Target Master too!! Someone mentioned the Kleptomania, must have been American writers trying to balance the Role Play aspect because he was one of Megatron's most reliable soldiers, behind only Laser Beak and Sound Wave.
The transformation was so seemless & smooth, ASTROTRAIN must’ve used ASTROGLIDE 😂
Definitely one of the best triple changers out there...P.S. I want one.
Who ever engineers these is nothing short of genius.
Excellent toy. So well made. Japanese products excel at quality. I saw many gems like these for sale in model stores in Japan, while I lived there.
maaan!!! This so amazing and satisfying to watch 💯 I really want this masterpiece just for the culture and as a collectable 🔥🔥🔥
FINALLY some love for the Big Purple Good Boi
The engineering is insane!
Question, how fragile is it?
I didn't think Astro train was a power Master that's so cool
Me sorprendió lo del robot chiquito, exelente figura.👍
The pinnacle of human engineering.
Now thats More than Meets The Eye means. Cool music too.
