Me too! Elle seemed really excited about that and it would have fit in well with the vintage signs, but it still looks amazing
You guys should make different designs together and let the person pick which one they prefer! That way it’s a collaborative effort... and it seems like Elle wanted to combine aspects of both so creating different designs together may make things better for everyone! (:

Well this can't work because if they have to be a team in order to make a room already one of them is not doing what they want to. If they do together TWO plans one of the two girls will have to step back. Chill. Its not their bedrooms so they shouldn't care that much. All they have to care is for the person that's going to live there.
This is my favorite suggestion so far. I think this would make it way less awkward for all parties involved especially since in an episode like this one, their designs seemed like they would have worked well together. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Guys can you PLEEEEEEASE not make it a strictly either/or competition? Why not just get the client to pick their favorite elements out of both? I always feel so bad for Becky, she hardly ever gets chosen...
You can choose certain elements but it has to be cohesive come on. You cant just mush two plans into one
What fun would it be if they did that and plus Niki D’s room she had a combo of the too. They did a 60’s/70’s Beach theme.
Obviously the room came out amazing, and maybe I'm alone in this, but I think in this case if they had combined the two, it would have been crazy good! Kelsey's layout was better, but all I could do is imagine if they had done Becky's giant strips on the wall instead of the brick. 😀

Specially since brick walls have become so common, even they did a brick wall many years back.
I wish they would have the guest choose the design anonymously. It’s really awkward, and makes me cringe every time. Or they need to find a way to pull from both designs rather than making it a competition.
EloraLivesHere I feel like it adds to the show. People need to be mature. This is their job they don’t get hurt or upset when someone doesn’t pick their design. I like that they pick in front of Becky and Kelsey. 😊
This happens in real life in the workplace too, it’s just life.
But I’m not speaking from Becky and Kelsey’s perspectives, I’m speaking from a viewers perspective, and a lot of people feel the same way. I would venture to say, a good chunk of these comments are focused on that specific part of this series on every video. If it’s uncomfortable for us, imagine how uncomfortable it is for the person whose room is being done (I’m not talking about Elle specifically) having to choose in front of them and having to soften the blow for the design they didn’t choose.
Agree. Because they do everything together anyways... It would be nice if they gave them the designs and let them think it over for a night then announce it together. Filming the decision being made is weird. They both spent time and are proud of what they came up with and I think it is inevitable in this context that a person might feel like they "failed" when they actually didn't. Purely because of the way they are arriving at the decision on the spot. It's almost like watching a break up lol.
It's never felt cringy to me. Everyone is talking w each other. They have put both their ideas together. It's not "you have to do it like this".
Ppl just gotta communicate.

Except for the brick wall, I actually liked Becky’s design better. I felt the red walls were a bit much with the brick wall.
I think it would be better if they worked together on designs rather than competing. I find with every video there are elements of both designs that are nice. I almost always want to combine them.
I love you girls so damn much but you have got to switch up these series a bit and stop making it a competition! Your styles TOGETHER work so much better. It’s also very nerve-wracking and awkward to watch your client pick one of your designs. Please consider :(

I think that it makes it interesting to see two different possible designs. But some of their clients do genuinely like aspects of both sometimes, so I think they should give an option for that. Maybe they have another reason for not doing so. Idk, I'm not them 😂 But I do agree that there could be another solution.

In my opinion I think Becky’s layout was much better cause she embedded more of the 80s/90s style into the room and I think it was really cool how she thought of it has a room a John Hughes character could have. Also I’m not such a huge fan of the white on the brick wall, I kind of liked it better before she added it. Anyways this is just my opinion so don’t come at me.

her designs are usually better. but i think kelsey's are more mainstream which i guess is why people choose them.
I was sceptical about the smear at first but it was definitely the right call! Made the brick look so real and it also kept the room from being too red!
I want to add some of what Becky was planning in my room, i thought it was an obvious winner but the other ones good for elle
Bella Brown I agree. I liked how she embedded more of the 80/90s theme to her layout and seemed more Cody while Kelsey did more of a industrial design and it kind of felt to clean and proper which I don’t think really fits Elle’s personality. Anyway that’s just my opinion.

Kelsey's plan had the better layout, but I really wish the sign wall was a little more multimedia. It looks a little too perfectly spaced and planned out. It could use some posters or Polaroids stuck to the wall to give it more of an organic cool feel to match the rest of the room.

Yeah, I think there should have been at least more signs and things because it looked a little bare. It should have been more eclectic and cluttered.
the one video where I loved becky's design waaaaay more than Kelsey's lol usually its hard to choose but for me becky's was sooo 90s retro which I love anyways room came out amazing!!!!

I love style selected so much but it gives me so much an anxiety to see how the person who has to choose must feel. Good thing Becky and Kelsey are mature because honestly my feelings would be hurt so easily. Love this one though!!

Don't you think that maybe you use word anxiety too lightly? If you really get anxious just because someone has to choose between two designs, you have serious problem.

I was about to comment that. In these me vs you videos, they’re always super awkward and clearly don’t agree with each other’s designs but they HAVE to go with it and it’s so obviously awkward... It’s very clear Kelsey was making Becky feel awkward even though she was trying to be sweet and supportive.

Absolutely. I think she's more creative and eccentric whereas kelsey is more trendy and mainstream so people pick kelsey bc her designs seem safer

I always like Beckys designs more because they are so creative and push the limits. I'm always so disappointed when they pick Kelsey's because I want to see what Becky's would have looked like.
Half the time I feel like this whole channel is the Kelsey show and Becky is just too nice to say anything to her.

They should update this series to allow for the person to pick from both ideas (or even have the person also brainstorm their dream room while the girls design their ideas). I get having two design ideas, however it fees like it is a weird secret competition between the two.

Side note...I actually cant believe Becky's room didn't get picked? It was so creative, I mean the tube tv was cool but would bother me because I'm more function before style but everything else was sooo cool!!!
So sad Becky’s wasn’t chosen- would love to see you kibosh making this a competition between you guys and would love it to be more of a collaboration- like i loved Becky’s overall aesthetic for this design but Kelsey’s layout was nice so a blend of the designs would’ve been amazing
Yeah, I'm in agreeance with a lot of comments. The part where they choose a style is just so cringey and gives me a lot of anxiety. It'd be great if they could either a) present the designs anonymously so the person choosing doesn't feel bad about having to deny one of the girls' creativity, or b) have ANOTHER option where the girls are then forced to combine their ideas into one somehow.
But I love your videos and the design came out SO NICE.

I feel awkward watching them be awkward. I feel like there is so much tension between them. Like when you fight with your boyfriend but have to go into a social setting anyways.

Yes sooo awkward. I really think they grew apart but basically “pretend” to be friends to keep their channel alive. Their is obvious awkwardness/tension in recent episodes

It’s possible that they grew apart, but mostly what I see is people trying to up the purely “entertainment” value of their content. Make it more like a show and they’re personalities. But feeling very uncertain of how to act natural while doing that. It feels to me like when I get a present and I want the other person to know I like it but I’m not that scream in excitement kind of person... so sometimes I think it comes off fake because they are trying really hard.

I hate to comment on this, because I have no idea what's going on for real and hate to assume, but I must say their chemistry has felt off for AGES. Long time viewer here, and I remember how much fun they used to have in their college days of living together and working on their channel. They obviously have separate lives now outside of work (which is fair, since they are together 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week), but you can tell they're definitely not best friends anymore. They're work partners. Which is fine. I just miss how cute their bff-y chemistry used to be.
Everyone keeps saying that there is an awkward vibe but I don't see it? I LOVE the vintage look of the room. So pleaseing to look at.

Guys, the purpose of this series is to redo someone ELSE'S room. Kelsey and Becky have different styles and ideas, and so it's better to give the person options. But seriously, the person HAS TO CHOOSE. They're going to be the ones living there. If you want Kelsey and Becky to combine ideas, go watch their dorm series or something. This series is literally called STYLE SELECTED.
I admire how Becky is always so strong when people choose Kelsey’s design. I have watched all of the style selected videos, please make more of this series!

I was really unsure when y'all said red walls because everything I've seen says that dark colors make a space feel small, but it turned out AMAZING!!! I think that brick wall really made all the difference, and that desk deserves major props! It's so good!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the moment when the person chooses one of the designs is SO AWKWARD! Maybe you guys can work to choose one design as the main concept and incorporate accent pieces from the other design? I feel like that would make it way less awkward and inclusive. I literally cringe every time during that part of the episode, but I love the designing part of all the rest of it! Much love!

I put a brick wall wallpaper on one wall in one of my rooms. I thought about painting the walls red, but then decided to use a light grey instead, that matches the joints of the "brick wall". In front of the brick wall I put some IKEA Vittsjö shelves that I found online for a quarter of the original price, and this is now the home of my scotch whisky collection. I also have two cute black armchairs and found grey and red tartan curtains on ebay :)
