Sarama is the term referring to the accompanying music before and during Muay Thai fights.
Before any Muay Thai match commences, both fighters will perform what is known as the Wai Kru Ram Muay which translates roughly to “Fighter dance to respect the teacher”.
The performance is undergone in order for the fighter to primarily pay respect to his or her teacher, but also thank friends, family, Gods, and to ward off evil spirits from the match.
Fighters will rarely share the exact same Ram Muay, as often times the dance is representative of the region and teachers associated with the fighter performing it. The dance is also used to relax the fighter and warm up before the bout.
The dance is of Thai origin, but has now since spread to other South East Asian combat sports such as Muay Lao and Khun Khmer.

It’s awesome how @ONEChampionship allowed both fighters Rodtang and Superlek to do the Wai Kru before fighting.
I cried today for an odd reason when performing the wai kru...

Watching Muay Thai and listening to this live is an unreal experience you just want to get involved
100% agree. I was at Rajadamnern watching them play the music and the feeling is indescribable.. like the closest thing to a time machine. You felt what they felt years ago listening to this.

Anyone else in their head training or fighting in a ring when you listen to this or is it just me. I've been training for atleast an hour or so now and I'm at work .

i'm guessing its Asia in a weird spelling with a "z" instead of "s" and "j" pronounced Russian style (ie "Nadja"). This dude might be a prophet or just a really intense / crazy guy or the first american born silversmith whose works are today highly valued, two items of his having sold in 2004 and 2007 both for $204,000.
