The bit where the designer talks about "sitting in a space and listening" is so true. Applies to real life areas as well, but I think that's why the sound design is so effective here. The spaces have so much life to them. Bravo on absolutely nailing the atmosphere of all the different spaces in this game.

@@WhiteBoyGamer Who said it isn't? I see a lot of overwhelmingly positive reviews, and a lot of people are talking about it, so it probably doesn't sell *that* bad. And even if it did, it is Konami's fault first of all, that they abandoned their own product and left the fans hanging for YEARS until now. Bloober Team did everything as best as they could, and the result is really stunning ❤
So I thnk they have every right to keep working on development of the next parts of Silent Hill if those are in plans.

The sound design of this game will stick with me for a long, LONG time. I have never heard anything else like it and I stopped so many times while playing to just listen to the ambient noises in the environments. The level of care and detail in these effects is awe inspiring. They greatly enhance the emotional impact of the music and story beats that they compliment. Thank you all so much for making me feel things I haven't felt since I played the original.
Picked the game up yesterday, first Silent Hill I ever played (although I know how SH2’s story plays out). Currently at the apartment complex, and I’m paranoid about every little corner and everything I can and cannot see. Playing on Hard mode really makes the game truly not just horror, but survival as well, there’s so few resources available that every single hit counts. Only small gripe I have is the frame rate drop I’m experiencing on PS5, which bothers me just a tiny bit and isn’t even all too frequent. I’m glad I bought this game

My question is why did you choose the sequel to remake instead of the Silent Hill 1?
Guys, the game is not bad, but I don't understand one thing - why was it necessary to make only one walking speed on the analog stick of the gamepad, because now almost every game has at least 3 speeds of movement, or even 5.
Before the start of the game there is a message that for complete enjoyment you need to play on the gamepad, but in fact in the game you can assign absolutely any button to walking and not lose anything, which is sad because varying the walking speed from very very slow to extremely fast contributes to better immersion in the game and gives more control over the game character, allowing you to control him more subtly through fine motor skills of the fingers.
I really hope that you will fix this in the next update and add additional walking speeds lower and higher than what is currently in the game.
The first 35 minutes of my playthrough, walking through the woods to the cemetery and hearing rustling in the bushes, then down by the lake.... literally gave me shivers. Amazing work.
An hour long making of would be appreciated.

Congrats Bloober team with a successful launch, SH 2 remake is a masterpiece...However, it's quite concerning that 2 best games of this year are remakes of 20+ year old games. We need more original AAA games.
I was entierly doubious for this game and I honestly don't know how you managed to nail it. I was completely scepical about the whole game, Bloober Team and that you did not make games with similar gameplay in the past. Respect for doing the Impossible. I hope that with you finding the right formula, SH1, 3 and 4 will be remade by you. Hats off and congratulations.
By the way, did the negativity towards certain states of the game help you to improve it to make it's current form?

Just finished my first run, the visuals and mechanics are on point, but the audio was pitch perfect. Best audio I've heard in a game. I play with headset and the moments it just goes silent, was the loudest. Great job and congrats, Masterpiece!!!

Especially Silent Hill 1 we need the frantic chaos of a father terrified for his lost daughter done up with the same level love love and care as the SH2 Remake. Bloober I grew up on this game and am so blown away of what five star meal you and Konami have served up with this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the fact that the town shows itself in its former then other world self, the music, the sounnnnndddsss lol the music itself having those random sound effects the atmosphere was amazing!!!!! The lakeview hotel blew me away, it wasn’t a one lane hallway it looked like multiple people could be in that hallways, unlike ps2 being what its limit was lol. THANL YOU THIS WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TENTH OF EVERY BIT OF PENNY PUT INTO THIS X3333333333333333333

I haven't actually finished this game yet (currently in the otherworld hospital) but I've been admiring literally everything so it's taking a while. I just want to say congratulations on your project! EVERYTHING I've seen so far has been perfection, this game captures the exact essence of the original and that is a tough achievement! the sound design in the remake is crazy, i love it so much. the sound design is so insane ive nearly shat myself because of the sounds while playing the game. some sounds make me so anxious and terrified, i love it.
the sound designers killed it for the remake and they better get nominated for best sound design in any upcoming video game award shows. they deserve all the awards for the sound design, i can't stress how much i love the sound design and soundtrack in general too.

Going to be honest, you guys deserve a huge apology from the people that judged you far too quickly. I knew atmosphere was your guys forte and Silent Hill is for the most part, ambience. I expected something really good, but not THIS good. You all have really unearthed such a feeling of isolation and true horror that I haven't felt since the Playstation 2, and I hope you guys go on to recreate the rest in this same formula that you have made. You guys rock!!
Bloober i love you since layers of fear, and more than now i want you to know that you've nailed it but so good with this remake, im into it but it scares so much of me that i have to take breaks on and on, but this game feels like the original so i want to give you my congrats and im thankful to be playing something so well done.
Thank you for granting the exact experience of what it felt like to be playing through SH2 way back in 2021. I remember it well and it feels the same now. This is the first post TS Silent Hill game that doesn’t feel wannabe. It’s just the real thing 👏🏼👏🏼

Personally I would say thank you for bringing SH2 back to its new life. I would fully agree with the advise: “just stop anywhere and feel the ambience”, I am doing this, that is why it is a slow progress.
Keep it like this, do not inject anything with any agenda, make game that fun for gamers!

Да, я как и многие переживал: справитесь ли, получится ли... но всё же держал за вас кулачки) И в итоге вы не только шикарно справились, но и сумели очень приятно удивить - любопытный ИИ врагов, весьма запоминающиеся локации, интересная боёвка, отличная постановка кат-сцен... Я восхищён вами, дамы и господа! Большое спасибо за SH2R!
P.S. Очень жаль, что вы и Konami запретили продажи своих игр в моей стране... и всё же запреты не помешали мне поддержать вас финансово. Потому что вы этого достойны)
Вчера была новость о том, что Блуберы принципиально не предоставляют ключи Стим в РФ. Как бы мне не хотелось нахваливать эту игру, но Блуберы оказались такой же конторой, как и Конами. Пока все издатели хоть и через костыли, но позволяют приобрести и поиграть в их игры, тут бьют в грудь и говорят что это их строгая позиция. Кстати, Блуберы, если я не ошибаюсь, первые кто публично заявили что прекращают какие-либо отношения с российскими пользователями

Но я люблю вселенную Сайлент Хилл, и мне хочется, чтобы у Konami всё получилось - чтобы продажи SH2R как минимум отбились и у издателя была уверенность в создании следующей игры про Сайлент Хилл) Ведь SH2R сделана просто очень охренительно! Не без грехов, ясное дело, но все плюсы ремейка затмевают его минусы. И зная такие игры Bloober Team как Blair Witch, The Medium, да те же Layers of Fear... я бы не поверил, что SH2R сделали Блуберы, если б не знал. И это вызывает уважение. За то, как они сделали ремейк, мне было абсолютно не жалко отдать несколько тысяч рублей. Абстрагируясь от политики.

never played thew original I was born in 2001 but im in love with this remaster it is one of the best story games I have ever played by far

When I played the original Silent Hill games for too long, I get the sense of uneasiness building up to the point I'll get shivers in my spine. I got the same thing with this remake. Well done Bloober team

The sound design of this game definitely has been doing it for me, being a sound artist I have in fact found myself slowing down to just listen to the environment for a bit, and so much of the environmental stuff makes noise. Even the papers stapled to telephone poles make rustling noises from the wind, it is just crazy detailed.
If there's one critique about the sound design I have, I prefer the blood curdling screams of the old version of the nurses. In the remake they sound too much like clickers to me. But in countless other instances I've been very happy with the sound direction, and how many important atmospheric moments were preserved by working in the original sound design and music with the new.
The sound is very scary like the original, congratulations 🔥

Been a gamer for a long time, I have played hundreds of games in my time beating them. Out of all my remakes and just regular games I've played this remake is one of the best ones I have ever seen being actually not better cause no one can top an old classic. This remake was one the best for history of gaming. Thank you blooper team, you all did a great job on this one. Everything about this game is 10/10 for me. Very proud of what yall all have done with this game. Hope for more remakes by your team.

As long as they bring back the OG developers again as guidance counselors. I still am not convinced that bloober could make a game of this quality without veterans holding their hand the entire step of the way.
This masterpiece at the end of the day was the creation of the OG developers who used bloober as a rent-a-studio to make it happen.
Bloober may have developed the game, but it was team silent that directed them on how to do so.

Best Remake of a cult game made to date in video games in general and I insist on this.
I don't know what Bloober Team will work on next, but I wouldn't be against another Remake or a new game in the Silent Hill universe made by Bloober Team.
That said, I hope that it won't be too hard mentally in the long run for the Bloober Team members to work on horror games.
